I'm still waiting to hear back from the casino to see what they plan on doing but I was suprised this morning to see on my bank statement that the check I deposited from ALL YOU BET Casino was returned (Frozen funds was reason). The check was drawn on a Canadian bank but payable in US Funds. Has anyone ever had this happen? What do you think I can do here. Being a US player do I have any recourse? I'm afraid because I also deposited another check from them a week later and I don't know what's going to happen with that one. Your feedback is appreciated. And yes, I know better now, I will only be playing on Casinomeister accredited casinos from here on out! Thanks.

The processor (we don't need to know the name here) named on the check may have become 'known' to your bank as a processor for online casinos, or the casino/processor's account may indeed be 'frozen'.

Contact the casino ASAP. I do not know the casino, but they may require a copy of the bank statement showing the check did not clear. They may be able to cut you a check from a diffferent processor, or get your funds to you in another way. Oh! And ask the casino to refund any bad check fees the bank might haved charged to your account, too.

Good luck.

p.s. ... While I prefer checks as a withdrawal method as opposed to wire transfer, I still live in fear of what you've just experienced. Isn't it 'fun' gambling from the USA? *sheesh*

I tried a check for my last withdrawal. Neither of my banks would take it without a 10 day hold. Was drawn on a Canadian Bank and they said they were getting lots of returned checks from that bank and no way to verify the funds. I then took it to a check cashing establishment. They were unable to verify funds to cash the check, found a phone number, however were told by the bank there was no such account. I then contacted the casino, within 2 days they stopped payment on the check and had to disburse my funds another way. Unfortunately took longer to receive the funds, and of course reversed some meantime, but the casino was good about it. It was a casinomeister accredited casino. Good Luck and no more canadian checks for me.

The minute I found out the check had been returned by the bank for "funds frozen", I notified the casino. They were extremely apologetic and explained that their processor had closed that account account and unfortunately a few checks did accidentally get issued after their account was closed (hence they bounced). Anyway, within 2 days I had a Western Union Money transfer sent to me and I just picked up the cash at the local convenient store a few blocks from my house. They did not however reimburse me for the $15 that my bank charged for their bad check. I'm just glad I didn't have any checks that I wrote bounce because of this error... it could have gotten very expensive for me. They did act fast and they did try to do the right thing. I will however stick to casinomeister accredited casinos from now on.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad you were paid! You might want to email the casino with a quick thank you along with a copy of your statement (feel free to black out unrelated transactions) showing the fee, and maybe they'll at least drop you a free chip for the hassle and expense.
