Research project requires players, affiliates and casino reps

Not sure if this goes here, please move if need be

I will be conducting a research project on online and offline casinos and would like to have some people answer some questionnaires. I need both players and affiliates, can you please post if you would be willing to answer a questionnaire a few months from now?

If any casino reps could assist that would be great.

FYI : as this is personal research it is not funded so I can't pay for the help

I will however keep your info and when a paid opportunity comes up I will add you first on my list.

I'll tentatively volunteer (player and games provider (land-based and online)), but this will be dependent upon the time required. Please confirm the following. (I also think you may get more volunteers if you able to give us an idea of what it is you're asking us to assist with)...

1. "Some Questionnaires" - How many is this likely to be, and how many questions on each?
2. How many questions are likely to be on each of the questionnaires / how long do you estimate it will take to complete them?
3. What is the format of the information required (i.e. are the questions multiple choice, prioritise a list of pre-prepared responses in order of importance, free-text entry, etc).
4. What subjects are the questionnaires likely to be on? (E.g. Personal profile (age, gender, occupation, income, spending, etc). Game preference (slots, table games, peer-to-peer, etc). Platform specific (land-based, online, mobile). Etc

Hi, and thanks for the reply firstly,


The questionnaire will be along the lines of 10-15 questions for players and affiliates and will be in multiple choice format.

Gender, do you like online, offline or both why do you like online, etc.

The one for casino operators will be a more in-depth 5-6 questions open response

I will keep you informed here if anything changes as I get closer to having them ready and will ask for more input as I am still in the planning phase.

Please make sure though, that your player questionnaire does NOT include the most stupid question which has really annoyed me in previous research:
"How much do you spend on gambling each month?"
"Spend" is not the right word; you could say "lose", but you have to remember that some players WIN a lot too.
If I was setting the questions I would ask, for your average month:
How many times do you deposit?
How much do you deposit?
How much do you withdraw?

If anyone wants this use the membership of this forum to do research, the proper way to go about it is to ask permission at least. A number of really dodgy people have tried to do the same - exploiting the membership for personal gain.

thanks for making the point. Lol I am an honest guy though, wouldn't try to pull a stunt like that. I like this industry too much and want to keep a good rep as I intend to stay in it. LOL you cant beat those parties at the conferences LOL.

I know that land based casinos are illegal in NI, so this will heavily influence how people in this part of the world gamble.
