Redbet - didn't read the terms and conditions

Being using Redbet for over two years without any problems, made a deposit the other day with a bonus and completed the wagering to leave a balance of 1000 euro withdrawable. Initiated withdrawal gets an email the next day saying the funds have been confiscated. This is apparently because I played over 5 per spin on a couple of games whilst wagering. Yes its in the terms and conditions and sadly I did not notice that, how many people actually read ALL the terms and conditions. Contacted them and basically they did not want to know, I would've thought they'd offer me a warning or something first or even limit the max bets whilst wagering to prevent this happening. I understand rules are rules etc but there philosophy is :The Redbet mission is a simple one; to create a fun, engaging and trustworthy place to play and one where the happiness of our players is always paramount.

It's not a massive amount but the principle behind it stinks, I play at many online casinos and always profit each month, never had any problems elsewhere. Closed all my Redbet accounts and will now give my custom to a 'better' casino.

Just a little warning in case anyone else gets caught out on this!

Maybe the title to this thread actually should have been ''Shame on me for not reading the rules at Redbet''.

I can understand the frustration but I would be angry at myself for not being more careful before using a bonus.
I guess you will from now on do that everywhere before you start to play.

Yes I am very angry at myself too lol

But who ever actually reads ALL the rules prior to playing? Not many I think.

Its just a warning to others, would not like this to happen to anyone else, especially if its a larger amount.

Good to hear, and yes I believe you're more angry at yourself really.

I believe we all have been cought out for not doing our homework at least one time when we start playing...or later:)
I have done that too. Rogue casinos and you name it.

This was your first post and Redbet is accredited here. I don't think they appreciate the thread title, and I'm also sure they would have prefferred to keep you as a customer and paid your winning. As you said, it's not a huge amount, but thy have the rules for a good reason and they have to stick to them too.

Those irregular gameplay rules (like max bet) are applied at Casino's discretion.

It seems that for Redbet you are not worth 1000€ retention cost. I am guessing your usual deposits there were around 50€ or less.
Having said that - fixed 5€ max bet is pretty much a norm these days (like others have said).

You are playing there for 2 years and never read the bonus-rules? That was certainly not the first bonus you took so why are you starting to get foolish enough to exceed max. bet? I also think they wouldn't have confiscated your winnings if you would be a "genuine" or "recreational" player.

What's your point? Do you think casinos fancy you as a customer when you are so smart like you pretend to be?

Well at your own risk as you found out to not read all terms and conditions. I know I do!
Its the rules its clear you broke a condition and paid a price for it. Not nice I know but to say
"who reads all terms and conditions" is a foolish statement. Dont read them at your own risk.

Shame on Redbet? Nope - shame on you. It's your responsibility to read the terms and conditions, and in most instances you are required to check a box that claims that you did.

Don't blame others for your own mistake. Thread title changed for accuracy.

I am a genuine player purely recreational!

I find this comment offensive, thought this forum would be friendly, I am just trying to get a warning across, that's all

Well you have to draw the whole picture. It's your first post at all here and you complain about one of the (justifiably) best-rated casinos here with a very offensive thread-title. Then you tell us it's not much money to you and you are in "profit" every month. It's not important in this specific thread.

I've also exceeded max-bet in the past: exactly once at Guts and was denied winnings too. It hurt but I didn't start a thread back then blaming Guts for my mistake. I've never made this kind of beginners mistake again. And I've never accused any accredited casino about not being upfront to me. I was always treated fairly.

I appreciate your intention to tell us to read the T&C properly. Just do it in an objective way.

I got caught up on this rule once before myself, its annoying and I also lost a bit, although nowhere near as much as 1000 euros.

With regard to the rest of the reply though, I don't agree. Now, as we all know this rule is in place to deter two tier betting, i.e using high risk massive bets to up the players sum to a decent level and then "grinding" the wagering requirements before a withdraw.

When a player is using this tactic its very very obvious from their player log and as such its right that the casino should confiscate winnings.

However, where there is a handful of plays at this stake (and its not enormous) midway through wagering with no discernible difference to the player balance then I don't see why Redbet can't take a view on it, especially to a long standing, loyal player. In these circumstances I would say its overly draconian for Redbet to enforce this, knowing they can save a 1000e payout in the process -which lets be honest - is why they have stuck to their decision.

So no,I don't think they would have preferred to keep the player as a customer over the 1000 euro payout to him, otherwise they would have paid him or made some concession.

I think with the recent increase in wagering on their bonuses for example (50% bonus equating to 750e wagering on a 10e bonus with a 20e deposit anyone?) coupled with this sort "speak to the hand" mentality shows the direction that Redbet has gone....

That's the thing. We, you and I have no idea how many handful of higher bets he made. He didn't say a handful. He said on a couple of games.

Really it doesn't matter. We want them to follow their own rules about other things, but if they are following them on these occations we think they should make an exception:rolleyes:
I'm sure they have checked his gameplay. Maybe he was playing the same for two years and they finally had enough.
Do you really believe €1000 is that much for a casino? I don't think so, and you don't need to agree with me, it's fine :)

The story goes like this, playing late at night, had a few wins on bet of approx. 1-3 euro. Wanted to log off and go to bed basically. So I kept increasing my bets to get rid of the money, I probably played approx. 10-20 max bets (6 euro) on Dark Knight and Immortal Romance. Had a few big wins and the wagering cleared, therefore requested withdrawal and went to bed.
No, this is not my normal pattern of behaviour lol And this have never happened to me before.
I usually placed average sized bets whether with bonus money or not and sometimes max bets, depends how I'm feeling. I was just shocked for this to happen. I was totally unaware of this rule and that's why I did this.

The morale of my story is to always read the small print, top to bottom and inside out, like I should have.

It may be worth adding that if you accidentally play a spin or two over the max bet then STOP! playing and contact CS. Many decent sites would then simply add on say 30x wagering for any returns from those spins to your overall WR. If you won nothing and it was a spin or two they may overlook it at their discretion. Haranguing the casino is not the answer, and as you never tried asking you'll never know how decent they may have been about it.

Then again, I suppose if you'd not read the T&C's you wouldn't have thought to ask in the first place so I've wasted my time typing this....

I am gutted for you and totally understand your frustration.

As others have said the casino acted with integrity and have a good reputation.

I too have rushed through a WR in a wish to go to bed knowing my final profit/loss. Luckily, as a low roller, this has not caused me to exceed max bet.

Lesson learned. Please don't think this forum unfriendly. They are all wonderful helpful folk and have given me plenty of advice and we share our highs and lows.

The reason we jump to defend reputable casinos is that most of us know just how bad the real rogues are.... And believe me when a casino is rogue we shout if from the rooftops ;)
