    Hi All

Normally I consider myself pretty lucky with online gambling.

However for at least four months, I have hit nothing. No big wins, no withdrawals just a continual heavy streak of losses. My biggest slot feature payed 20x..

What is the best way to break this painful run?

    I want a happy Christmas :( lol

Stop playing any game you love.

I play since I`m 18 and I had some bad losses.

If you have friends you can talk to, do it. If not stop playing.

Sorry, I have no better advice :(.

I was able to defeat my demons and I hope you can do it too.

    Cheers

Could I ask what casino you play at (Microgaming, NetEnt, Playtech), and what games you tend to play? (243 ways, 9 line 25 line etc?) My tonic was a shift from Microgaming stand alone casinos (viper software) to web based NetEnt/Microgaming casinos. I got the opportunity to try a bunch of new games that I had no clue about, and in the process of my discovering....I hit several large wins. Sometimes, for me anyways, just falling back on the same old games can cause you to fall flat on your face.... as was the case for me for most of 2014.
I would also say, never chase that big win by raising your betting pattern. Try to find a bet point that works for you, and stick with it. For me that is around $1.20 a spin, until I am well over $200. You may also fare well, depending on who you ask, to use the Hot/Cold systems in place at many casinos. Sticking with Hot games should eventually translate into a cashout of some size. With Microgaming, I find that the more people playing a game, the better your odds of hitting a sizeable win. More fish in the pond makes for better fishing. Thus.....new releases, and classic favorites like Immortal Romance are almost must try's. This is just my 2 cents, break a leg!!

If you're losing money you can't afford or have budgeted for, you'll not have a happy Christmas unless you stop now. If you need a win for a happy Christmas you're already in trouble. Don't chase losses. All the best.

You have come to the right place and done the right thing making this post, OP. So many times people will write about their losses, complaining that they can't win, which then is soon followed by them hitting a big win. Too many times it has happened for this to be a coincidence. The Slot Gods will reward you with a feature that will pay better than 20x Bet. You can bet on that.

If your taking losses you can't afford best to take a break. Otherwise re-evaluate your gambling strategy.

I have had to change my playstyle and expectations recently after a few bad losses. With games like immortal romance,GOT,playboy,TS2 I find I will set a limit I am willing to lose before I switch because those type of games will just eat your balance if you let it. Its always an up and down rollercoaster but thats the thrill of the chase.

My biggest issue is knowing when to cash out and thats something I'm still working on lol. I seem to get into alot of profitable positions only to lose it all because I think I can get more and then when I don't its like 'OK I must be due for bonus round or a big win soon' that never comes. Its a work in progress but I am switching between lots of netent/MG slots now so I can at least enjoy playing.

At the moment I am hooked on SouthPark ReelChaos its got a great bonus game and 4 random base game features - one of the most fun slots I've played.

Good luck whichever direction you go!

Play lower bets on low variance slots.

I had a great couple of months there playing my usual 4 or 5 high variance MG slots but had 6 or 7 losing days and was slowly giving back a chunk of my winnings. Its gambling and we just have to take the good and bad and be sensible. Ive taken a few days away from playing and i am still in profit but sometimes if you try chasing the losses it will bite you in the bum.
We all need a few extra bucks at this time of year and i would not rely on getting them from playing slots.

Either you're not playing very much, or you're playing really shite games... or you've just been incredibly unlucky! :(
I can't believe that you seriously haven't got more than x20 for four months if you're playing any decent volume of spins.
I would say I get a feature over x20 just about every day - and I only average about an hour of play per day - maybe a bit less.

Others have already given some great advice; try some different games, and if money is tight, take a break.

    Good luck,
    KK

Its just bad luck but im sure it will change.

But seriously I would think about changing your games you play or stakes.

I find it really hard to believe that no feature has paid you more than 20x bet in months. I am on a losing streak myself but even then most slots still pay more than 20x in bonus round. Take 2 of my old favourites Fat lady sings and Kathmandu. Its very rare to get feature rounds that pay less than 20x. Not saying you walk away a winner on those slots but I would find it near impossible to get several bonuses that all pay less than 20x.

But all slots can be bad. Lol I had put football coupons on the other day and had £10 left in my account. Thought id play starburst at 20p a spin to try get balance up to play something else. Unbelievably I played 50 spins without one star in sight and not even one win of any sort. 50 spins without even a 10p payout. Never saw that before and probably never will again. Just goes to show how bad a run any slot can be on.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I love fat lady sings, have not played for about a year though, last year had a massive hit on it.

I have not changed anything over the last four months, and I have not been playing money I cannot afford to lose don't worry. When I said I wanted a happy Christmas, I just meant because winning makes me happier :p.

I think maybe I should try a new site.. I used to play on Betvictor most of the time, but recently changed to Guts, and sadly my luck there just will not change.

I have had runs like this before but never so bad! I am deadly serious on that no more than 20x wins though, seriously, I have had so many features that have paid between 5-10x the last couple months.

I remain optimistic though! I know it won't last forever. Next time I will deposit I am going to try something totally new.

Try a bit of Video Poker. Deuces and Joker when played right is very profitable and doesn't eat away at your balance in a short space of time like a lot if slots do. It keeps you in the game and you can make small bankrolls last a long time.

As with anything in life, the best idea is to take a step back and gain some perspective. Take a break from gambling over Christmas so it cannot dent your bank balance any further. Enter 2015 fresh and re-invigorated. Maybe try some new games or just stick to one game that has been an old faithful to you over the years. Most importantly, don't over-think it. This is nothing you technically have any influence over. Just look to play with a more relaxed frame of mind and if you need a break away from it to gain that mentality then so be it.

It's like football or ten pin bowling. If you're not getting the rub of the green then you can get stuck in a rut and it can grind you down. The best thing is to replenish your mental state and then hit it with a more healthy state of mind.

You're not alone, having a terrible run myself at the moment with IR, every deposit seems to be swallowed up within 20-30 mins with bonus rounds (when I manage to hit them) paying no more than 20x.

As others have said, best to take a break than keep throwing money at the casino.
