I heard a while back (which i found out is wrong) that online gambling up here is illegal, but nothing much is done about it..Then i found out not long ago that as Pina said it's still a grey area...and legal pretty much. It's funny though, lottolore.com which has all the Canadian lottery numbers updated has PartyPoker and Party Casino banners up.

I was really surprised when Neteller pulled Canadians out. Made me wonder though if they know somethings coming up here too.

The governments in at least three Canadian provinces (Ontario, BC and I can't recall the other one) have their hands full with the Lotto retailer scandal at present, so that should keep them distracted for awhile....and it would be a brave politician who went to bat for an online gambling ban with provincial lotto carve-outs at this time imo!

Just to add to the pot, could the Neteller Canadian ban be related to the fact that they are already negotiating and wrangling with the DoJ over the arrest of their two (major share holding) founders Lawrence and Lefevbre?

Perhaps the deal is that Neteller gets the hell out of North America, agrees not to take US-origin gambling transactions.... and the feds will leave them alone?
