Hi everyone I am new to online gaming and have questions regarding the random jackpots. could someone please explain to me how they work, are they on every machine? how much do they generally pay etc. When the bar is right at the end showing when the last jackpot was won does that mean it has to go off soon. thanks in advance

Good question. Also, do you have to play max to hit it? Are you supposed to have certain slots to win it? I honestly wouldnt know but shall watch this thread with interest:)

Turn right, then right. then right again
Welcome to a fellow Aussie!

It depends on the software brand. Im not sure where the "bar" idea comes from...could you.please elaborate?

In simple terms, random jackpots are, well, just that - random. On some brands, your chances increase with your bet, but anyone can win and previous jackpots have no bearing.

First, a warm welcome to the forum. Like Nifty, I have no clue on what you mean by the 'bar'.

When you state random jackpots I assume you are talking about casinos powered by Realtime Gaming(RTG). It would help if you can tell us which casino you are playing at as we could then tell you which software it's using.

If its RTG you are talking about the random jackpots do not go off in the manner you described. Fist, for each and every real-series slot at a casino, there is seed money (usually $1000) to kick it off. When players pull the handle a tiny sum of your slet bet(maybe0.5%-1%) is contributed to the prize pool. However, with every spin you have a chance of 'triggering' the jackpot depending on the size of your bet. I vaguely recall you have a 1 in 300 000 chance of triggering the random jackpot with a $1 bet.So, as far as I know its not really 'when' the jackpot will hit because it can hit any time and the higher your bet the greater the chances. That's why you are quite likely to hit a random jackpot during the tournaments as its usually $100 a spin lol. Many players also take huge signup bonuses for this very reason and spin big hoping to hit the random jackpot.

I hope to have been clear about this but for expert advice yoyu can send a private message to Dogboy001.

In Microgaming there is a 'Temperature Gauge' to represent when the last jackpot was won.

However, I can answer your question. A Random Jackpot should be Random. As such, when it was won should have zero effect on when it is won again.

Otherwise it wouldn't exactly be random. Would it? ;)

I think I figured out how RTG random jackpots go. Whats interesting is how do the MG jackpots work? I had a go on Mega Moolah Isis last night. That was really interesting. They have 4 jackpots. Is anything required at all to get that big one? EG: 5 of the same symbols or whatever. I kept getting the minor jp but that was like only $10. What a tease!:p

No - the "Mega Moolah" jackpots are all random ones - nothing to do with the symbols on the reels.
Also, the chances of hitting any particular segment on the jackpot wheel are not even - they are heavily weighted in favour of the lower prizes.

Microgaming do have several Jackpot slots which ARE won by 5 symbols on a certain win-line, but of course they are not called "random jackpots".

Over the years I have had some great(RTG) Random Jackpot wins. On both $20 and $.20 cent bets. My theory is that if it is big, it is ready to hit, so I gravitate to those games. When you see everybody playing and the numbers are spinning then it is hot. The very first time that I ever played online I hit a random jackpot on Cleopatra. I had been hitting all night on $10 and $20 bets and I had a nice amount to cash out so I dropped my bet to .20. Then I hit the random. I played for the next two days without any sleep and still cashed out ten grand.

Twice I woke up to a random jackpot after depositing $100 and setting it on .20 to spin all night. WEEEEEEE!

Jackpots..

A random jackpot is just that, it can be won at any time after a completion of a spin, all Real Series Slots from RTG contain Random Jackpots as do most Nu Works casinos.

The bar you are referring to I am guessing is the MG jackpot meter (temperature), this only lets players know of when the last time the highest paid combination on a slot was hit E.G MG's Moonshine slot is 5x wilds (grandma) = $80 (or as how they put it 8000 coins). This metre means nothing really and try not to take notice of it, you will see some slots that are on 999.0 for months and does not mean it will go off any time soon, slots are random so it could happen when a slot is on 80.0 or 342.00 or sit on that 999.0 temperature for months on end. etc.

Symbol driven jackpots are a different story again, on these slots you must get 5 of the jackpot symbols, these are usually the Wilds or scatters.

And welcome to the forums Elley, great to see another Aussie face around.
