Does anyone know if the Atlantic City casinos that are licensed to operate an online casino have a separate online casino room inside their land casinos?

I live outside of New Jersey and Delaware. I usually take a tour bus to AC. If I go to Tropicana or any other AC casino operating an online casino, would I have to provide my own computer/laptop? If they have an "online casino" room, I assume they have computer terminals there for players.

I know the Tropicana's online casino has minimum bet $1 for baccarat and blackjack. How about Borgata, Caesar's, Trump Plaza, Golden Nugget? it seems Trump Taj Mahal does not have online baccarat.

I have no idea of an answer for your question but, I would like to say I find it odd when I open my comcast homepage and get an ad for an on-line casino for the state of New Jersey.........

since I am in ILLINOIS!

waste of advertising funds in my opinion.

I would not be surprised if the casinos did not start installing tablets on the busses so you can start playing as soon as you cross the state line. I wonder who is going to open the first cyber café at the Path station in Hoboken.

I believe that NJ State legislation allows only the Atlantic City casinos to advertise the online casinos to prevent bars and lounges to become hubs for online gambling. But I am not sure if places along the state borders still would not pop up.

You'll need to take a laptop to play online during your visit. I think some have mobile apps too so that's another option.

There was a problem with some of the casino's Wi-Fi showing the computers not being located in N.J. but I'm sure that problems been fixed by now, surely.

I would suggest doing some homework, maybe calling support before making the trip and playing online. The process is not as easy as what most players are use too IMO. ;)

As for the bets I'm sure they're lower than on the casino floor. Last time I was in Vegas playing blackjack the min. bet at all tables was $25.00 bucks per hand. A bad night can take you down Quick!

Hi there,
To answer your questions:
1. there is no designated online gaming room or anything at Borgata. however, as you said, you can bring your laptop or tablet or phone and play while you are anywhere in New Jersey and of course that includes the Borgata property

2. Borgata has temporarily removed baccarat because of a technical issue but we do have $1 blackjack available.

Hope this answers your questions and feel free to register for an account even if you are currently outside NJ. You won't be able to play until you are here but it will give you a head start. :) Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
Jason

Thanks, Jason. I likely would only go into New Jersey on a group bus to Borgata. So if I lug my laptop into Borgata, are there places to place a laptop on to play the online casino? I suppose I could sit 7 or 8 hours in the buffet restaurant. :D

This would be an illegal business. What you can do is go to a bar or anything else that has wireless internet and sit for as long as they let you. You probably need to get about one mile inside NJ before trying it.

In general, I don't think the casinos in Atlantic City have any desire to have players who are right there to be playing on their laptops.

I think they would much rather have you playing in their casino.

I have heard it is very difficult to get a good enough connection that will allow you to play when you are very close to Atlantic City, this could very well be by design.

One of the stated purposes for online gaming in NJ is to bring in players who would not normally go to Atlantic City, like the players in the Northern part of the State who might go to Pennsylvania or New York to play, not to take business away from the established land based casinos.

If the land based casinos offer $1 minimum blackjack, baccarat, roulette, etc. and at least $500 maximum bets, then, yes, I would play in their land based casino. But otherwise, I would not play in the land based casino as the minimum bets are too high.

Wouldn't Wi-Fi connections be disrupted for everybody (non-casino included) in the whole Atlantic City area if that is the case? If the online casino servers determine you are inside the land based casino, they would create artificial disruptions? That would be so devious and crooked in my opinion.

So they are not inviting out-of-state players to come into New Jersey and/or to their land based casinos to play their online casino? Where are the current players playing from while inside New Jersey?

Maybe if you get offers for comp rooms you could just play in your room, even if you are not staying over night although like someone stated make sure that the internet connection shows you as being in new jersey

Wi-Fi signals are a rare commodity near the casinos in Atlantic City.

If you stay in any of the the resort hotels you have to pay for internet to be available to you (again, they don't want people sitting in their rooms doing things on their computers) through their routers for $12.00 for 24 hrs. and if your computer shows only 1 or 2 wi-fi signals available you will most likely not be able to get geo-location verified.

Another factor is your cellphone signal. Anywhere inside the casinos you typically get a weak signal and if your phone is not showing better than 2 bars you will have a hard time connecting.

It is definitely not anywhere near a perfect system and there are days when I can not connect even though I am sitting in the exact same place I was the day before when it worked good. I live right in a wi-fi hotspot and sometimes I have to change to a different signal. Optimum wi-fi, cable wi-fi, xfinity wi-fi, and TWC wi-fi are all available to me from the pole outside my house and some, according to whatismyip.com, show me as being in Connecticut or New York and, for some of the casinos, I have to try to find one that says New Jersey. Some casinos are better at locating me than others.

The Betfair site and the Ultimate Gaming site seem to work the best for me and I have very few problems connecting with them, at the other end of the spectrum the Golden Nugget site is very difficult for me to geo-locate. I can play there any time I want but I always have to work at it.

I have talked to the cable company and they tell me all the IP addresses I get are New Jersey addresses according to ARIN (American Registry of Internet Numbers) and the problem is with the casinos. The casinos say the problem is with my wi-fi provider. So it's just finger pointing and no solutions currently.

As far as where players who are not NJ residents are playing I would imagine there are not that many and if I had to guess probably much more than 90% of the players who frequent the on-line casinos here are NJ residents playing from their homes. Outsiders probably play when they are in NJ on business or visiting family.

Perhaps Jason and/or UltimateJ could give us an idea of what percentage of their players are residents of NJ.

You can certainly play here but it aint easy.:D

I did mention that in my post but that does not give the same location as ARIN, which is the supposed authority on IP addresses for the US. Unfortunately, I have not been able to access ARIN's database.

opps sorry missed that
