Quebec anti online gambling law

Internet governing body has told Quebec that Internet providers fall under federal law and that Quebec cannot order them to ban any site. Federal govt are the only ones allowed to tell Internet provide who and what to ban and this only under special circumstances. Maybe this won't go thru so easily....

Quebec of course is saying it falls under health ......and that is their juridical ion.....blah blah blah....could this province just become more dumb....

If the government itself was not offering gambling, I might be more willing to believe their anti-gambling stance was sincere in the interest of "health".

Tell me again why other sites are less "healthy" than espacejeux?

Quebec says they want to ban online gambling for health reason of there citiznes etc what crap.....they just want there citiznes to gamble on there own online casino simple as that about $$ they feel they are loosing.

I get tired of Government and others saying that online casino are not safe and unregulated..... Video slots as many others are better regulated and have better control option than our ownOLG and lotto Quebec its about greed period.

Quebec Government is to controlling...... my neighbor here in Toronto has a daughter in Quebec and says if she wants books or toys that are in English for her kids her mom will order here in Toronto and when her daughter visits she picks up and take back to Quebec as you can not order any English products from Quebec as they will be blocked from coming in to Quebec.

Health? Hahahahahha! CRTC is not dumb enough to believe this bs. If espacejeux in quebec was runned by smart people, offering a wide variety of games, more deposit methods, live games, up to date poker software, they would crush the market. Instead they want to impose themselves with their shitty attitude and their lies. Nobody should play on espacejeux. Even then they would blame it on something else than their own greed and stupidity.

Instead of improving their terrible website, they try to make the competition "illegal".

I am sure they woud like to make the playground poker room in kanhawake illegal too because 90% of poker players prefer to go there since the room is much better in quality if you compare it to the montreal's casino poker room.

They've been thinking about how to shut down Khanawake for years but are reportedly deterred by a thought provoking experience some years ago when the Mohawks acted violently to protect their First Nation rights (admittedly that was a clash over issues not connected to online gambling)

The Canadian poker industry news published on Dec09 2016 that CRTC (Canadian radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) tells Quebec government they can not block online gambling sites. Its been put to a stop!

It's actually more like a truce for now until the issue is adjudicated by the courts. The main parties involved are the Quebec government, the federal communication authority, a public advocacy group and the ISPs.

I'm just wondering how much longer casinos will be accepting us players...

Maybe we are too small to even bother with .... but the November article states that the govts attempt to block isp to protect their gambling monopoly is is futile however if it goes thru even though the internet companies won't comply I think the online casinos might refuse to serve us.
