Protecting who?

Hey Guys,

As the more seasoned of you will know I’ve been around here for a while and I’ve learned so much over the years. I hope I’ve helped a couple of people too. :)

I wanted to make a quick post to let you all know that this amazing site isn’t all about protecting the player. I had a message today which saved us a lot of bother!

We had a 100,000 free spins giveaway where customers were given spins at 10p a spin. Or that was the plan. A mistake from our promo team meant they were credited at £1 a spin instead!

One of the longer term members on here kindly let me know and we fixed the problem quite quickly. The person, who will remain anonymous unless they reveal their identity, said they wouldn’t have told many operators but because it was me they wanted to make sure I knew. ?

CasinoMeister is renown for looking after players, but this amazing community also looks after the operators too.

Thanks again. You know who you are.
Mark

They were showing at 10p when I spun them. I won 0 from the 10 spins though, it wouldn't have made a difference whether they were credited at 10p or £10 a pop in my case

But yeah, there are some good eggs on this forum

Think the fact they did that speaks for itself.

I have not actually signed up at your new casino and not sure if i will, mainly as these days just so much hassle and you never know what crap casino will hit you with so mainly stick to bookies sites. But if i was to sign up somewhere new it would be at your casino purely because you are the Rep.

You have been here for many a year, Had your up's and downs as well. You probably know better than most as a Rep what some people can be like. But you have always been an active Rep, Always helped and joined in.

Very few Rep's even bother to log in yet alone become active, whereas you always maintain prescence and post both from business and personal point of view. So you will find most longstanding members here like you and more importantly Respect you for what you have done. So no surprise that someone informed you. Again some members might have informed other casinos of the mistake but having someone they know, trust and Respect running a casino certainly makes a difference.

Think that is what makes a casino on here, Knowing that you have a Rep that will go out of his way to help, always active and genuinely cares.

Now most importantly, who exactly was the bloody grass:laugh:

There was someone who used to post on here who actually discovered a major game exploit and went running straight to NetEnt, bragged about it all after the fix was rolled out, but still refused to explain how it all worked even though people were just curious - no advantage to be gained at that point! I'm not sure I would have gone about things quite in the same way.

But yes - Lottomart, good eggs, good rep, 10p spins all the way

Similar happened with Mr Green's bonus drop a few months back. But I didn't mention that, as they're part of Massive Global Corporation, and could afford it ;)

Any jobs going in the “promo team” department?

I have a CSE grade 5 in science, and 4’s in English and Maths. Hope you don’t think, I’m overqualified.

I’m sure the comment is a piss take but if you’re looking for a job based in Gibraltar please send on your CV!

I suppose I should come clean... I was the 'grass'.
Yes, I did play the spins. But it was only after the last spin that I noticed the stake, when it changed from £1 to 10p
And it was only because it was Mark's casino that I contacted him. Although I may also have done the same for Jan.
Anyway, I was rewarded VERY generously. So I'm more than happy with the outcome :)

Nice to hear, as much as the gambling industry is a commercial space, people are people and Mark has done a lot for this community over the years.

I've spotted my share of blunders and bugs over the years and I try and take a similar "karma" stance - the sites and reps that have been respectful to players I've made the effort to alert them to the problems, the sites that haven't I've left them to it and watched with popcorn.

While they didn't tell us explicitly, they mentioned a couple of tidbits over the years you can try to join the dots on. By pressing a "sequence of keys", "from spin one you could enable a x5 multiplier" (instead of having to collect the four upgrade symbols). If your average free spin has a 5x multiplier rather than 1.5-2.5x, that'll rocket the RTP in the player's favour to the point the provider has to pull the game immediately (as they did when they were informed). No wonder the provider would want to stay quiet on that one because that sounds like an egregious error.

Would be nice if it went both ways though.

I’m a incredibly consistent 20p per spin player and I once accidentally clicked on max bet on a slot which cost me £50 for the spin (85% of my balance). A clear error that stuck out like a dog’s bollocks compared to my betting history (my max ever bet on that site was 30p). I pleaded my case to the casino who told be to bugger off.

I’d probably treat the situations being described above very differently now (previously I would have point them out to the casino too). Karma goes both ways.

This has probably happened to most players over the years and yeah, most are told to just bugger off.

Seems often like when a casino makes a mistake, it's all about how "we're all just human and we make mistakes from time to time". When a player makes a mistake though, it's almost always met with "well, tough luck and be more careful in the future. Now bugger off."

I'd probably have done the same as Brian but only given that it was Mark. Probably no other Rep/Casino i'd have had a crisis of morality.

There was an issue with a now defunct casino years ago that i fully creamed off re loyalty points- got an email back saying they paid me but really, i should have notified them. It was Player v Casino as far as i was concerned

Its a tricky situation.
Yes, giving back the money lost on a bet that was placed by mistake would be cool, but you would obviously expect to be paid if you hit a 100x win with that £50 spin.
Since you wouldnt give back the money if you won big from the same mistake, is it fair to expect the money back when you lose?

(have had the same thing happen when using spacebar to spin on some older Microgaming slots, using spacebar changes it to maxbet before spinning on some microgaming slots for some dumb reason)

Yep but would the casino have SOW’d me for unusual activity had I hit something big? It was Novibet UK btw, and my accidental spin was two days before they notified all customers that they were exiting the UK market and disabled the site except for withdrawals. So we will never know, but we do know they weren’t lenient with my error.

Im also surprised that casino errors discussed above are not covered tightly in their T&Cs. Maybe they are but they exercise goodwill in certain scenarios.

This forum continues to deliver amazing experiences. You are an amazing crowd.

One of our CM friends messaged me over the weekend to let us know we’d paid their withdrawal twice! Our payment provider is still investigating, but I’m not sure you get that honesty anywhere else.

We should probably stop giving people more than they expect. No wonder we’re not growing as fast as I’d like. :)

One of the few places I’m still in profit on. Long May it continue :p
