MEGA MOOLAH NOW OVER $3 MILLION AND COUNTING

Another major Internet progressive jackpot ready to pop?

It looks as if the next seriously large progressive win could come from Microgaming's Mega Moolah, which this week topped the $3 million mark and is still growing.

With Cryptologic's record breaking Millionaire's Club multi-millions now won, the Mega Moolah offering has replaced it as the biggest jackpot on the Internet progressives scene.

The slot is Microgamings first four tiered progressive that offers players four progressive jackpots to aim for. The 5 reel, 25 pay-line game starts at $1million and has three added possibilities Major $10 000, Minor $100 and Mini $10, supported by a range of Wild, Free Spin, Scatter and Multiplayer opportunities.

Microgaming's Progressive Jackpot Network has paid out over $225 million since launch to over 6 500 players worldwide, and the big wins are paid out in a single tranche. It has made 11 instant millionaires to date.

Very nice jackpot size it is too although my personal opinion is that it wont be won until it gets over the jackpot won on the millions slot. I think MG want to claim the title as having the largest ever paid out jackpot.

Oh and who are you advertising for jetset? you sound like a commercial lol

Jetset is probably the closest thing you can get to an information expert on online gambling. His news are always current and first-rate stuff. Actually, he should be head-hunted by MG, Playtech and the likes.

Thanks for that, Chuchu....but no thanks on the headhunted part!

We do our own thing, are beholden to no-one, and aim to keep it that way!

how do you win it? do you have to have five of a certain symbol on a certain payline? and if this isn't the highest-numbered payline, can you play less than max lines? is there a minimum bet amount to be eligible? i.e. if the required line is line 12, can i play 12 lines @ 1 cent and still be in the running to win it?

Rapid fire jackpot. Chance of hitting the jackpot-wheel feature is proportional to bet size. So play any number of lines you like and bet-size.

ah. then i agree with audi they will prevent it from hitting until it goes record high. when he first said that, i thought "how are they going to prevent a valid reel combo from coming up unless they rig the game", but they can easily rig a feature wheel, because with only one sliver being the jackpot, no one will suspect a fix when they miss it on their spin.

Why is the jackpot rarely quoted as 3m (GBP)? This is roughly quivalent to $6m (USD) - and is the true value of the jackpot, since it is always stored in the strongest currency (GBP) while paying out the same numerical figure whichever currency it's hit in. Would sound much more impressive!

good thing i keep my mg accounts in pounds! should i decide to play for it i'll be playing with the best ev. how does this slot play apart from the jackpot feature? does it just eat money all day long?

If you catch it right, this slot can pay very well from the free spin moolah feature, however vast majority of the time it is a cash sucking clam :p
I would like to point out though that in my opinion bet size has very little to do with how `often` the wheel comes out. I only bet low on this machine and have the wheel out quite often. I had it out 3 times in one 2 hour session from a low stake.

Yes .......along with all the other slots at MG recently ....now i know why ....
to build one slot up to a jackpot of 3m ..... well i hope someone wins it soon ...then maybe the payouts on mg slots might return to an acceptable payout % ....

dunno why large jackpots attract new custom, but they do, just like the national lotteries i quess. when there is a rollover week and the Jackpot doubles then sales of tickets increases by 40% .......????? er ...yes dear buy double the amount of tickets because its 25,000,000 this week and last week it was only 10,000,000.... what a strange way of thinking .......10m ..25m ....whats the difference when we are talking millions.

If M.G. made the progressive jackpot say 1million instead of 3 then thats 2mill more for the gamblers who provide their everyday bread and butter,

Large jackpots like 3m dont make me want to gamble more ....because common sense tells me that the money to payout such large sums has to come from somewhere ... and that somewhere is you and me.... the everyday gambler who is quite happy with wins of 500 or 1500 on a more regular basis (sorry to assume this but just going of winner shots ) ..

Big jackpots only lead to one thing.....Big customer turnover ,
shortsighted and more to do with vanity than business ... and it makes me sad,

It should takes me a big trouble with such a Big Jackpot.

So, I decide to quit.

Anyone go head~~~~

wtf?

MG didn't "make" the jackpot 3 million - it was a percentage of all the players wagers on that slot added to the jackpot pool. For instance, it could have a 7% HA, 5% of which goes to the casino and 2% of which goes into the jackpot pool. If the percentages were set up differently (ie less money going towards the jackpot), I think it's more likely that the extra money would have gone into the casinos pockets rather than back to the player.

oh right thats ok then ....as long as MG didnt "make" the jackpot 3 million ...its got nothing to do with them.

er ...who did it then?

and if they did pocket the money then the % rtp figures overall would drop (i think ) not sure how the "group" thing works ...but sure a jackpot win is figured in the published figures somehow.

The amount going towards the jackpot is not part of the house edge, since it will be paid out to someone eventually.

I don't understand two things about the 'payout' screen on Mega Moolah.

1) It says the mini and minor are set at 10 and 100, yet you often see them at 9.x and 99.x. I'm not saying they're won at that, but how can they be below what they're set at? And...

2) Does betting higher give you a 'greater chance' of hitting the wheel bonus, or just a greater chance of hitting the 'MEGA' progressive (Like "Millionaires Club")?

I agree this can be good fun, but can suck cash with the worst of them... Um, like all slots then!

You're right, I wasn't thinking straight. The house edge could be 5% and an extra 2% is taken to put towards the jackpot, to correct my previous post. Obviously I don't know the real percentages.

The players did, by playing wagering their money on the game.

okey dokey , i think i understand now ...so its like a players co-operative setup .... so MG just act like a middle man then ...sort of putting a % of the wager towards the jackpot until it progresses to whatever .........so do the players decide what that % is and at what point it pays the jackpot ?

then again that would be decided by the software .....

so its the software thats responsible for the high jackpot .......not MG ....
MG ....squeaky clean on this one then.

no ...sorry getting confused again .....its the players co-operative init .........hang on ....errr.

thanks.

Well it is kind of like a players co-operative setup, but the software is responsible for what percentage of wager that goes into the jackpot. MG is also responsible for setting the probability of the jackpot being won - they can indirectly control the size of the jackpot through this, as a rare-hitting jackpot will inevitably grow larger than one that hits frequently.

To all that have hit the jackpot-wheel feature:

1) How many times have you hit it
2)How many spins did it take and what was the bet-size
3) What jackpots did you hit.

Then I do try some math on the results.

Analysis if there was no jackpot-wheel feature:
Number of iterations:77586432
Total cost:77586432
Total added wins:50904326
Total added line-wins:38772074
Number of feature starts:530550
Base payback(no free spins):0.6560982982179152
Probability for getting a feature each spin:0.006838180160159962~1/146
Average number of spins each feature with retriggers (calculated):16.71444588342117
Average number of win each feature(in bet size):32.8989584993042
Total number of hits:7740318
Hit frequency (1-line):0.09976380921860152
Total payout (exact!)= 0.8810673035177832~ 88,11%
