Progressive Jackpots only for Scandinavians?

That's what she said! Sweden in the EU (but like the UK) chose to keep their own currency.

Just for the record.

I said:

I should have mentioned only Sweden and Norway who are not part of the Euro zone having their own currencies

She said:

We are in there (i.e Euro zone - comment by Stokes) but we choosed to keep our own currencie

Then I said:

I think you are in the EU, but not in the Eurozone.

For clarification AFAIK EU≠Eurozone

I meant of course that we are in the EU, but are having our own currencie. But I don't understand what that has to do with Jackpots being hit more by Scandinavian players?
We win more Jackpots because we are a lot more people here that play those NetEnt jackpot games than anywhere else. That make sence and is the truth.
I don't think I've ever heard about anyone from Scandinavia that have won the Mega Moolah though. Have you?

That can be because we don't play it so much...yet ;)

I know I shouldn't continue to post in theese kind of rather ridiculous conspiracy threads but I just can't help myself :D

Tweet from Unibet:

"A lucky Finnish player has landed the Super Jackpot on the Arabian Nights slot, picking up €1,721,087.66 from just a €5 bet"

I can't help myself to continue this obviously ridiculous conspiracy thread:p

That has to do with some wrong implementation of the currency conversion (according to my conspiracy theory).

Can you back this up with some facts? As far as I could gather from the financial reports Europe equals the Nordic countries at Unibet in terms of betting volume, 30/70% at Betsson if we are talking about the big ones (apart from PAF who probably has majority of Scandinavian players) active in the Nordic countries as well and not considering those (i.e. Redbet, MrGreen, Interwetten, Sportingbet etc.) who probaly have less Scandinavian players.

For me it does not explain why the jackpot winning ratio is at least 5:1 (more likely 10:1) favouring to the Nordic countries. And I don't buy that nobody else plays those Jackpot Slots only Scandinavians.

Actually I have:

A “small” jackpot on NOK 5.4 million (Norwegian Krone) was won late November 2012.

Then I do hope that you'll find the answers you're looking for

When you do then please share them with us.
In the meantime I'll continue to trust what I've been told. I don't need any statistics to believe that those companies don't lie or cheat anyone.
I play where I feel comfortable and I maybe should add that I will not win any jackpots anywhere even though I'm from Scandinavia.
I don't play those games at all :)

So because of currency conversion, Finland, Euro country with population of 5.5 million, has managed to win more NetEnt progressives, 8 or so I think, than the rest of the Eurozone, population 335 million, combined?

Netherlands 4
Unibet, Mega Fortune
CasinoEuro, Mega Fortune
CasinoEuro, Arabian nights
Kroon Casino, Mega Fortune Dreams

Belgium 1
Unibet, Mega Fortune Dreams

Portugal 1
Betclic, Mega Fortune

What we don't know if they played in Euro or Swedish krona.

Now you're a little funny.
Why in the world would Finnish people play with my currency when they have their own?
Please explain the thought :D

Why would some people sign up in other currency than their own? Like some people sign up in GBP to maximize the first deposit bonus.
They might play with SEK to maximize the play time.

Why is there an option to choose the currency? Everybody who's currency supported should only allowed to use that.

I contacted NetEnt to provide a geographical distribution of players using NetEnt platform in percentage, but I won't hold my breath that I receive it.

270 million people live in countries where Eurojackpot lottery is available, whereas Finland's population is 5.5 million. Finns have won the largest Eurojackpot ever 61 million euros, the third largest 57 million euros, 33% of the 15 largest Eurojackpots ever and 24% of all 21 Eurojackpot main jackpots ever won thus far.

Maybe the Eurojackpot lottery balls should be coated with aluminium to prevent those naughty Finns from manipulating them with radiation?

Or maybe Finns just play the Eurojackpot lottery more, it has probably gotten more attention here since the lottery draw is done in Helsinki.

I again have called out to our NetEnt expert Rainmaker. I hope he will come and explain how it looks statisticly.
It has been threads about this before so you're not the first one questioning it.

You could of course ask one of the reps to find the answer for you. They have contact directly with Netent, but I know they don't respond to players questions.

In NetEnt games when minimum bet is 0.20 in euros, in SEK it is 2, about 0.214 euro, so going SEK would decrease playtime. It would make no sense for high roller either who wants to bet as high as possible, you would go probably British pound for that, 0.2 pound is 0.276 euro.

Euro is really handy, you suffer no conversion fee regardless of payment methods almost anywhere.

There is no reason for a Finn to play in SEK.

Maybe USD or something else for more playtime, though at the moment USD would not give as much more playtime as half a year ago.

Pound for high rolling.

From a marketing perspective, it's advantageous for them to have the jackpots hit by their main target markets. The Scandinavian countries have higher gdp per capita compared to the rest of Europe - it's definitely the most profitable market for their clientele.

Yeah, thought it was a bit obvious, they are fairly wealthy and tend to be much higher rollers with alot of Scandinavian players always doing minimums of several euros a spin (I do to but I aint seen a win in a while now let alone a JP) thus increasing chances of winning a jackpot.
