PrePaid ATm Scare Tactics

>>She retrived the pin from a booklet we keep in the computer desk drawer that contains ALL our account info, as our pea brains cannot remember my heart the 20-digit # you have to enter at the PPATM site. This little gold mine contains all pin info not only to our casino accounts, but our regular bill-pay accounts, different forums we belong to, etc<<

Very scary and good warning to me because I did the same thing with all my accounts since I did almost all my credit card and bank account online. I don't have a teen daughter/son but I usually have a teen babysitter come few times every month.

Luckily I don't leave any casino software on my computer. But I will put other "money" information away now. Nice warning from you.

I believe you in personal because I did see few teens doing this kind of stuff (not casino but the credit card things ) to their parents in real life. I am sorry it happen to you and admire you want to take care of it. It's a lot of money to deal with. Hope everything will turn out fine soon! Good luck!

Studies have shown that most people keep their passwords & pins written down and within a 10' radius of their computers. Please keep your little password books hidden someplace other than the drawer under your computer! And of course don't use simple passwords like your kids' names, pets' names, birthdates, etc. Best thing is to pick a word or phrase you can remember and throw a punctuation mark in the middle of it somewhere (e.g. pass&word).

Thank you, Bewitch. We now have our computer password protected - no one can even get the screen up without knowing it, and it is not written down anywhere. Expensive lesson!!

Are they offering you a payment plan or how do you intend on paying 6,000! Yikes....

It was only $1100 to PPATM - the rest was in OTHER various accounts. We are going to offer a settlement to them, which will equate to about 75% of the total amount, less the fees they are trying to charge us, which I refuse to pay.
