Pop up boxes in cm

    I have pop up turned off the only time i run into a popup box showing is in cm if i hit the search button. As it returns my results im in firefox up comes ie with adds for casino groups and insurance groups. Anyone else get these or is it just my puter acting up again?

    You have some malware on your system. I suggest running adaware and/or spybot search and destroy to get rid of them...

    Most likely, the only time I have seen pop-ups here is if I have a PM just arrived. CM is hardly likely going to run INSURANCE ads in any case, so it must be malware delivering results based on it intercepting your search criteria, and providing some of it's own "relevant" content. Poorly programmed malware as well, since it did not detect it was being prodded into action from within FireFox, and not IE.

    AdAware and SpyBot are both free, and will find almost everything.

    I have run both frequently on my other machine, and SpyBot gets the odd half dozen that AdAware misses, and there is never anything left over for a-squared to find.
