Playtech is rumored to be ceasing operations in Canada, Netherlands and Finland with immediate effect, according to inside sources. Allegedly, the decision comes as a result of local regulations – but how or why those affect the gaming company are yet to be revealed.

This may explain another players trouble earlier in trying to login at Omni Casino and being told they cannot.

Edit: Found that thread: Omni Casino No Longer Taking Canadians

Hmm.. That is quite surprising. As RAY (Which is a company owned by the government, and only one that can legally operate casino games in Finland) uses Playtechs software on their online site.

Guess this is a good time to look at closing my Playtech accounts since I will not be able to play them anymore. I wonder if it only affects the slots side and not the game betting or tables. I know SportsInteraction has both playtech slots and game betting on sports so not sure if there is a pullout all features would be gone as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if RAY has something to do with this. This would bring them a lot more players.

From the site:

"UPDATE: It has been confirmed by inside sources that the pull out will be for Finland and the Netherlands only."

So, looks like Canada may be okay for the moment. It also says Finnish and Dutch players will have one more month to play.

Dammit!! No more Great Blue on Saturday afternoon?!
That game owes me ALOT of money, and it had become some sort of tradition, playing Omni on Saturday.
But I can live without Playtech, just hope MG wont do the same.:eek2:

Also, it is has been confirmed that the pull out is being made by EUROPARTNERS, an affiliate program that represents several brands associated with Playtech. EUROPARTNERS assists affiliates in creating revenue streams through the promotion of sites, including large brands such as Vegas Red, Europa Casino and Titan Poker.

About Euro Partners from their linkedin profile

With over 70,000 affiliates, Euro Partners is the world's leading e-gaming affiliate program and the largest vendor for Playtech licensees worldwide. We maintain a small affiliate-to-manager ratio to ensure personal and professional service to all our partners, all of the time.

In addition to traditional affiliate partnerships, we also work with a variety of specialized gaming entities, such as those seeking to expand their online presence, or to facilitate their transition from brick and mortar to digital.

ABOUT OUR VERTICALS

Casino: Our casinos are constantly updated to feature the very latest games and technologies, with a current offering of 350+ games in over 15 languages. Brands include: Europa Casino, Casino Tropez and Titan Casino.

Poker: Our online poker rooms include Titan Poker, the iPoker Network’s flagship poker room, and Mansion Poker. Both rooms guarantee millions in monthly prizes, and feature sit 'n' go's with huge progressive jackpots.

Sports: Titan Bet is our full-service sportsbook. Registered bettors can take advantage of our 25£ in free bets sign-up bonus, as well as generous cash-back and multiple bet offers.

So they are the largest vendor for Playtech licenses, but apparently not the only vendor. Any idea if there are Playtech casinos that have nothing to do with Euro Partners, and if they are allowed to continue to offer Playtech games to Finland and Netherlands.

They won't be the "world's largest" for long if they keep pulling out of countries like this, and others EXPAND their reach.

The way things are going, RTG could end up being "world's biggest" at everything as they do not "pull out of" anywhere. This won't make them "the world's best" though, so bad news for players.

I'm an Aussie, and I just tried to sign up at Sports Interaction to play in the Casino, but I got this message --> Sorry, we do not accept customers from the country you have selected. I'm not sure if that's a new thing.

It's a shame because there aren't that many accredited Playtech Casino's on the list that I can choose from.

Edit - I also noticed that Fly Casino is also an accredited Playtech, but doesn't appear on the Playtech pulldown list at the top of the screen?

I have to add that RAY isn't owned by the government, just regulated by it. I can't really say how this will affect RAY's online casino since we haven't had any "inside info" about this yet.

Oh you gotta love the everlasting fights to make sure everyone's money go into the right pockets, and if it doesn't, let's limit people's free choice, to put their money into any pocket they want to.

It's shit like this, that can REALLY piss me off.

This is how it starts then WHAM not accepting players from your country. Move over America the beautiful here comes more countries. :(

Oh so its not as big as it was first made out, it is not really a loss to any of those countries as Chayton pointed out I wouldn't be playing at any of their brands or recommend anyone does for that matter.

That's interesting, I have an account at Sports Interaction I wonder if I can still login, there was no emails or notification of them not accepting Aussie, in fact I had special bonus set up for me to promote to Aussies as they could not claim the SUB.

Anyway you cannot go wrong with Omni or Fly they would be the only 2 I recommend, when it comes to Playtech these days (for aussies anyway)

It's probably just new Aussie's that can't sign up. I'm assuming that you'll be ok if you've already got an account. This is the message I get when I try to sign up for the Casino.

Yeah, I signed up with Omni last week, and I like it a lot. I'll give Fly a shot next. I signed up at Boyle's (another accredited Playtech), but they won't let me deposit via Credit Card or Paypal. I think the only options I had was either Neteller or some other obscure deposit method that I'd never heard of, so I'll be giving that one a miss.

Playtech Canada

I am in Canada and I play at Fly Casino once in awhile. Actually I was there playing about 2 days ago and never had any problems. I hope they dont leave. I really like the games.

Didn't this pull out only refer to live casino games, not all the games. That's certainly what I believe to be the case - something to do with intellectual property rights and license expiries, if memory serves.

Its official for Canada...received the chop chop email from Europa yesterday. Didn't really say much or apologize or even thanked me for being a player all these years..

Dear Peggy

As part of our commitment to ensure the best quality game and according to the legislation, Europa Casino has decided to cease its activity in your country.

You will not be able to log in to your account, however, our customer support stays available for any question you may have: SUPPORT@europacasino.com

Sincerely,

Europa Casino

At the moment feeling pretty hopeful that is the case.

Europa Casino, one of those 5 Euro Partners casinos seems to have added Canada, Netherlands and Finland in the list of countries excluded, but non-Euro Partner Playtech casinos seem to have done nothing like that at least yet.

Well, no big loss, since those 5 Euro Partners casinos have predatory progressive withdrawal limitations, I would'nt want to wait decades for getting the whole progressive jackpot if I was to hit one.

You are aware of and agree that players are allowed to withdraw not more than $9,990/ £9,990/ €9,990/ CHF9,990/ AU$9,990/ DKK74,990/ NOK74,990/ SEK99,900/ ZAR99,900 per month. If the amount to be withdrawn is greater than $9,990/ £9,990/ €9,990/ CHF9,990/ AU$9,990/ DKK74,990/ NOK74,990/ SEK99,900/ ZAR99,900, the remaining amount will be placed back to the player's account, allowing the player to withdraw additional funds the following month in accordance with this term. The foregoing applies also to Withdrawals of progressive jackpots. Withdrawals depend on all conditions specified above and the verification of all required documents as set forth in clause 9.4 below.

Finns and Dutch have won quite a few jackpots, so based on that I would say that we represent reasonable share of online gamblers, so I don't think Playtech will withdraw games from these countries for no reason.
