New Slot Announcement Phantom in the opera - Microgaming

Phantom OF The Opera, not 'in' as the thread title suggests but I've reviewed this trash for you all.

Tried to view this a couple of times last night on my samsung phone but it kept saying it was unavailable, although it showed the thumbnail.
Managed to watch your Isoftbet video fine though.

EDIT, its just loaded up fine on my laptop from this thread, strange

Played this the other night at 0.6 with a starting balance of 80 I think. No features and only one random in game feature the love letter. By the time I busted out I was bored to tears but just before the bust out I got a spew worthy spin which had the top girl symbol stacked on reels 2-5 but nothing on reel one. Wanted to punch the screen. Also design wise this slot reminds me a lot of the Titanic slot. Just saying.

Well, after nearly 5000 spins in free mode, I think a can write some sort of review.

Last year or two MG has clear tendency to make higher varianced slots, but with lower jackpot(s). I have quite comprehensive statistic of achievements form MG's most popular slots lik IR, TS2, TFROL, JP, GOT, Dragonz, Happy Hollydays and Pretty Kitty. Sadly, at the moment I am not able to play Playboy, T2 or Avalon 2 for real.

It is quite clear that IR (and TS2 even more) have rare frequency over 150x hit, but much more hits in range 20-80x. They really act as medium varianced slots.

Releasing POTO I though MG will return to that path, but they continued with tendecy like in Jurrasic World, Lost Vegas and similar...

So, they actually destroyed this release with misery paytable and mugged-me variance.
I think something very rothen is going on in MG headquaters...

Graphically, I put POTO in best 3 MG slots, together with JP and TFROL. Animations are perfect, smoth, with glam and luxury. But maybe you noticed, that there are no picture animations (like in IR).DSame issue as in Jurassic World.

Theme and music are excellent, 10/10, but all that vanishes when you start to play .

As said before, jackpot spin is just above 7000x, much lower then IR/TS2/TFROL/GOT, but higher than Lost Vegas, Dragonz and Jurassic Park (slightly).

As in Lost Vegas (and Fruit vs Candy clone) I see no chance of full screen of wilds
Dunover is mistaking, the main potential IS in base game and in first bonus (Music of the night). It is possible to get best symbol in combo with wilds (wilds are „semi-stacked“, as well as person symbols), but then chance of hitting it seems very weak.

Letter feature (with small wins up to 20x) is completely stupid. That should be pick me bonus feature instead of being non free spin feature.

Chandelier fall is useless copy of Wild desire from IR and it is limited to max 3 reels. MG really doesn't want you to win.

Software picking bonuses instead of you is one rae good thing, but modest.

First bonus has some charm, mistery, but quite little hope. It can produce extra spins out of nothing, so it is possible to get up to 20 spins in total. It is combined with random wilds activation (up to five wild symbols, but usually 2 or 3) and mistery multipliers (again ranging from 2x to 5x). And it would be nice IF WILDS FROM BASE GAME WERE NOT REMOVED. This is main reason why this slot has little potential (combined with low paytable).Same goes for second free spin Dance feature where you have two constant wilds. You can get from 2 (scattered) to 6 (gathered) wild symbols, but possibility for serious wins here is even lower. Everything here is actually eye candy trick!

It is possible that after release slot is a bit cold, but not reaching single 100x (and over) after thousands of spins is simply disgusting. It isn't the failure like Jurassic World, because of graphic (and even theme), but it is slot which you can hate and avoid very quickly.

And notice mockoing voice with SUPERB, BRAVO when you get 10x win!!!

MG- you should be ashamed of yourself!!!

Slightly off topic here but leading on from this I agree 100% on this recent "plays high variance pays low variance" maths model that MG seem to have adopted. HOWEVER...

Has anyone noticed that the mobile HtML5 releases of Immortal Romance and Thunderstruck 2 play a lot higher variance than the old flash versions i.e fewer mid range bonuses but a lot more higher paying ones? I would be very interested to see the slot tracker data comparing the old with the new....

SlotTracker doesn't track mobile play though.
And I've only found the HTML5 versions (on desk top) on one site that I occasionally play at - Casino of Dreams, which for some reason, SlotTracker doesn't recognise

Thank you for this review....it's a total dud.. I thought it was just my bad luck....apparently it isn't.

Just hit this a few mins ago at Ladylucks, £1.20 spin and I opted for Music of The Night and nothing much happened till the 3rd last spin, it dropped in two wilds reels with the dude all the way across and then it threw in x3 Multiplier on top.

my best hits so far:
x500 in the base game
x300 in the base game
x250 in the first bonus game (music of the night)

I mean yes the slot isn't that great in terms of win potential.

But I actually do like it. The sounds and the music makes it a nice slot to play.

My best win was in the base game of 350Xish bet!

I do hope MG do go back to their roots soon and actually release some slots that have far greater win potential. But I think those days are long gone...

I agree....

Graphic and design. 9/10
Music: 10/10
Theme: 10/10
Features: 6/10
Paytable: 6/10
Variance: 4/10
Potential: 6/10

Total: 6/10

Why they don't make something IR like? Are they afraid that people will quit playing IR? TS2 is too medium (in 2 years of playing I still didn't get 3-reel Wildstorm, not to mention more and my best win is something over 300x - Thor free spins), TFROL is too high in variance (and with demolished paytable for lower symbols), JP is close, but variance is also higher and jackpot only half of IR's, same could be said for Playboy and Dragonz. Avalon 2 is more like Game of Thrones slots and Jurassic World is major disappointment in any sense.

Here are my thinkings about IR:

Graphic and design: 10/10
Music: 9/10
Theme: 6/10
Features: 8/10
Paytable: 9/10
Variance: 8/10
Potential: 9/10

Total: 9/10

i like playing this slot but find it quite poor on bonus feature not had much at all from bonus feature very low payout on music of night feature
