Hi back in 2014 I asked Paddy power to permanent close my account, At the time I thought id be able to join back after some time I didnt think it would mean for my life time I could never have an account there again.
    Is this true ?
or after a period of time can you request for the account to be reopened ?

If you have requested account closure you can open it again at any time.

If you requested permanent self exclusion then it will never be opened again.

I mean I close my account cause I gave wrong details when I signed up was 18-19 and at time was scared id get in trouble so I asked for it be perm banned haha. But thats very different, theres safe play tools now you can set to control your spending habbits on sites where as drinking you cant not drink anymore cause you set a limit :D

I am guessing permanently means just that permanently. It would be wrong if you said permanent and casino then said ok you can have account back as some time has passed. Just play elsewhere. Plenty of accredited casinos.

I read another, long-winded post on another forum where some guy wanted to know why a casino wouldn't close his account permanently.

They said they could but it would be a Self-exclusion and permanent, but he'd be a 'problem gambler'. It went on for about 2 pages....

I also recently shut one of probably 50 accounts I have. I was asked whether to have a temporary closure (where I can re-open it again anytime) or have SE and 'confess' to being an out-of-control gambling degenerate :eek2: I opted for the former

Still unsure why they can't close an account for good minus the stigma. Another shifty move by the industry, seems they have all the angles covered don't they

I wouldn't worry to much about it we have no shortage of reputable casinos and bookies in the UK.
Stick to what is working for you now.

For Betfair / Paddy Power, a perma exclusion is indeed permanent. It now applies to both brands, so don't open a new acc on the other brand or vice versa.

*speaking from experience, having worked for them and probably excluded some of you :( *

Owned by the same company, hence "paddypower betfair".. If you have any funds with Betfair, I'd rush to get em out.. Before they realize and close down your account.

Like others suggest I would avoid trying to open an account and use one of the many other CM recommended casinos instead. Say you hit a mega jackpot at Paddy, would you feel sure they would pay you, I wouldnt lol

the details on your paddy power were incorrect ? then they won't match up with the other account you have in place on betfair ? that should mean that if you sign up to paddy power with correct details then an account should open unless you're using the same email address .

asking to be banned though is the same as asking to be excluded . you're effectively saying 'don't let me in here'

I would be weary of them doing deeper checks if you do win big.

They could quite easily and legally cancel your win and refund your deposit.
