Having just reviewed and summarized a couple hundred PAB cases a few things really stood out, I thought the readership might be interested:

    • there was a significant up-tick in the number of "irregular betting"/"spirit of the bonus" cases. This is becoming a SERIOUS problem. Overall I think it boils down to a strong push by casinos to actively hunt "advantage players" (APs).
    • Microgaming/Malta casinos seem to have earned the "Raspberry Award" for being the most complaint-worthy casinos this past year.
    • the number of PAB cases was down about 20% but the typical value of claims was noticably higher. Perhaps smaller-value cases aren't getting reported as much?
    • the "self-exclusion" scams reported last year continued through the first part of 2014, tapered off significantly toward the end of the year.
    • there is a disturbing trend toward "piss off, talk to my regulator" type responses from casinos. If their regulators were worth a damn -- often they are not -- that might mean something but as it stands it usually just means "please throw your complaint into this black hole, goodbye". If your casino is telling you this you'd be well advised to look into who that regulator actually is. There are rather few that are worthy of the emphasis being placed on them.

That's just a few things off the top of my head, I'll add to the list if anything else comes to mind.

    Thanks Bryan!

I found this, it seems a bit odd for an accredited casino:

Good catch! As it happens the February report was produced some time ago. A quick check tells me that it took some months to resolve that case. The player was eventually exposed as a fraudster.

Once the dust of the forthcoming week has settled I'll revisit those earlier reports and update accordingly.

So, they are going to hunt down and give a good shafting to players who actually like to play to win, rather than those who just carry on playing "for fun" until all their money runs out. If this is how they feel, they should open a circus or a theatre, not a casino. The terms are often sufficiently onerous that even players who get a decent bit of luck never manage to get past the WR to make a legitimate withdrawal.

If they REALLY want to make APs extinct, they need to move away from the idea that they have to compete by offering a bigger and better looking bonus than the rest. Bonuses are rare in the B&M industry, but they certainly compete for players through the use of other perks that seem somewhat lacking in the online industry. Where a land casino might comp a player with flights and a room, the online casino could comp a player with a nice new gaming PC or tablet. Land casinos don't tend to comp a new player who has just walked through the doors with a private jet and a suite, whereas the online industry reserve the very best comps for that very same player, leaving loyal players feeling less valued over time. The APs target this reverse comping model ruthlessly by making sure they ONLY ever play when they are that new player having just walked in, moving on no matter what the outcome.

One good thing about the land casino is that you get paid instantly, and although you can get barred from playing certain games in the future, or from the casino altogether, you still keep what you have legitimately won from bets they accepted.

Excellent reading! I spent an hour going through the last 2 years' worth, and the first thing that you notice is the vast difference between the responses and resolutions from accredited sites and non-accredited. I can't find an incident of an accredited site either not admitting a mistake or having an invalid reason for not paying a player.
    Read and take note!

And if you were paid because of Max, send a tab down to Waxy O's for him to enjoy Tuesday!

He's going to be hanging out with me all week. So he'll have plenty to eat and drink. :drink:

Instead, how about visiting his wish list and squaring that away for him. That would be definitely cool:

Yeah, I do love Wishlist stuff. :D I've received a few things over the years, nice reminders of the cases we've handled and the forum members that walked away happy but took the time to say "thanks".

Yeah, that stuff can get a little dry after a while so I tried to add a bit of colour here and there. ;)

    Dear Max & Mr. Meister:

I am very new to posting here, but I would just like to thank you for your diligence, aggressiveness, & tenacity on the part of the player to get paid when the player is in the right, and the casino is in the wrong.
I also appreciate this site, as I get a lot of very useful information from it as I know NOW where I should and should not go as a player, or better terms, be aware.

When my situation DOES finally get settled, you guys WILL be very happy as well, trust me. It will be more than plenty "To eat and drink" mind you.

    Sincerely yours,

    Kat Jennings-Vecchione

PS- I hope that I am posting correctly in the right area about my dilemma of not getting paid by a so called "reputable bingo site". I think you guys are doing a great job!!!

The best free service on the planet. You are not obliged to help anyone and I am personally very fortunate to have had both Max and Bryan "go to bat" for me in 2014, recouping a lot of money. Thanks guys!
