Anyone know if there is an official list of which operators are planning to be legal Ontario Operators? I am hoping we see operators sub license the rights to games OLG has monopoly over but refuse to have online at their olg site (For example Buffalo Gold).

As well is there a date? I thought it was supposed to happen last year but that is obviously not the case yet

Is this a thing? I havent seen anything about it. I cant imagine OLG letting anyone else step on their toes with legal legitimacy
I'd love to see any other operators seeing as OLG has the worst site known to man

I did see some names that are applying for a licence. Igaming takes affect in Feb of this year was to be Dec last year but been delayed. I know Toronto Star owner Torstar is to open a online casino. Google igaming Ontario. Will be interesting if it's a success and if we see games back like BTG,Netent etc.

Thank You. My main hope is we get to see games we just can't play right now online anywhere because of their monoploy.

I also figure this would happen before the provincial election

It is sad OLG trying to control the monopoly even on the I gaming web page they're encouraging players to look for the logo Igaming Ontario when this is up and running so we know we're playing on a safe regulated site for Ontario making it sound any casino operated outside of Ontario is not trusted. Again this info is a joke as we all know there are many safe gaming sites offshore but they want Ontario players to believe only Ontario regulated are only fair etc. They want me to play regulated Ontario casinos then they need to up their game. In my opinion there not open to competition if there preventing us from playing certain game providers, they want us to play their crappy IGT games etc. Let's see what happens in February.

On the other hand will be interesting if it is a success and we get many games choice, How and what the existing casino will do to keep us as players as I know if I'm able to play BTG and Netent on an Ontario casino that's were most of my deposits will be going.

One other thing lets don't forget Kahnawake gaming commission they licenced offshore casinos since the early 90,s and Olg has been nothing but disrespectful to them. They deserve credit. Olg comes on board 20 years later and tries to control the monopoly also a lot of people forget SIA (Sports Interaction) is run and owned by Kahnawake, the site is 1000x better than Olg.

Even though playolg is garbage I will give them one thing, They approve withdrawals on the weekends and the money is in the bank the next day. Would be better if they let you do multiple withdrawals in a 24 hour period but at least they are fast.

Just had an alarming survey from Pokerstars about the upcoming regulations coming into effect in Ontario. Several were along the lines of would I mind playing ONLY vs others in Ontario. Seems this is actually being considered, kicking us out of the global Multi Table Tournaments. Yikes, wonder what else these new regulations will do to casinos, require them to do.....

I just read this and it was posted Thursday supposedly as was looking for an update as we really need netent and BTG back for slots, but yes PokerStars sounds like you will only be playing against others in Ontario so that is interesting and sounds like they will be launching their casino as well besides poker. If they do go live I will defo check it out and maybe even start playing poker again. :)

I also wonder if there will be any employment opportunities. Have only seen a small list of names so far but apparently, the big dogs want into the Ontario market.

Whoa! Pokerstars has an office in Richmond Hill!? Hiring a bunch of IT and a casino games specialist so it's looking like they are one of the ones that applied. Have not looked at other companies yet.

Looks like 6 operators so far slated to start in April's launch: covers.com/industry/ontario-operators-igaming-online-sports-betting-march-2022

The operators are:
online bookmakers PointsBet
Rivalry Corp.
theScore Bet
VHL Ontario Ltd. (which appears connected to internet betting company 888 Holdings Plc and its online sportsbook, 888sport)
NSUS Ltd. (which appears to be linked to the Caesars Entertainment Inc.-owned World Series of Poker),
Annexio Ltd., a lottery betting provider from the United Kingdom

See bold. :) That's pretty much what I heard/read.

Yeah - it might look good on the horizon, but we are getting emails from some of the casino groups that state we can only advertise for them for Canadians in Ontario, and cannot advertise other casinos even for folks in BC or the rest of Canada. So be careful for what you wish for.

The Kahnawakes are probably the most hands on and professional licensing jurisdiction out there. So if push comes to shove I know which casinos will probably be listed here for Canucks. Unless of course we have to ring-fence the Ontario players into some jurisdiction of their own. I loath doing that for the main reason that GEO targeting is inaccurate - it doesn't work. You could be in the boonies in Alberta connected to a satellite internet provider, and your IP could be anywhere in Canada to include Ontario.

I have Starlink as my provider and half the time OLG won't work for me on my PC because it thinks I'm in the US (sometimes in Quebec). Almost had a withdrawal taken from me once because of that from Tonybet. Thankfully they did give me the withdrawal but then proceeded to ban my account. That was too bad as I enjoyed the site and never use a VPN.

@Casinomeister don't you currently put NJ players and other states into their own jurisdiction? I know i will continue to play Kahnawakes and other casinos that are on your site now but would like to also be able to find the Ontario operators on here. If i'm going to give a referal bonus I would prefer you guys get it than either nobody or another site. I mean it's obviously up to you but it would suck not seeing them on here.

tbh,
i cant see Bry tackling that, it is..just....such a small market (ie Can/ON sites)
And while I cant be arsed to search, there are a few threads dedicated to Ca/Bc/Qc/ON sites
Us canuckleheads run the odd thread here and there

This is standard and not a surprise that this is a requirement of Operators as yes we are talking only Ontario people/players. Right now being in Ontario I can't play on a B.C. casino so it's nothing new. The only issue is if it is an online poker site and it can only be players from within Ontario then that can be bad.

I am currently in Ontario so no worries with me right now. :)

I'm ok if they were to put them under Canada when you look for reviews and have a note within it saying it is available in Ontario only (and eventually possibly other provinces)....assuming the provider doesn't restrict that part of it

I get it, I do
The reason US has heir own site/page was, once upon a time, way back when, the US could play everywhere too; and they got......gutted
We can still play EVERYwhere and truly, there just, isnt, really, a reason to dedicate to Canada :)

There is already a way to filter by Canada in the reviews already so just adding a "Available in Ontario, Quebec, etc" wouldn't change much. I'm not talking about adding a new sub forum although that isn't hard to do

I received an email today from Mr Green which I haven't played with in years saying "We would like to inform you that Mr Green will cease Operations in Ontario, Canada, as of 7th of April, 2022"

I'm guessing they have applied for a license or are thinking of applying as that is one of the requirements to receive an iGaming Ontario license

My burning question is will these newly licensed casinos be permitted to offer us BTG titles? @Big Time Gaming ?
I asked already and asked again via my conversation with him a week ago and no response. I think the dream is dead for right now, we will see next month if any of the casinos entering the market will be offering BTG.
