only1 visa

So like for the past few months I've been using my only1 visa to make deposits online. To get a nice pleasant phone call earlier this morning to inform me that I have been making one too many foreign transactions. Especially to one descriptor there not too fond of.
So I simply explain to them I'm rather fond of buying my MP3s from a site that is overseas and they offer me much better deals.
She said MP3s alright, we'll go with that. Just serve this as your warning. My guess is since they use the same processor as Wired Plastic, that they must be cracking down on gambling related descriptors as well. I just read somewhere at one point that wired plastic because as ungambling friendly as green dot.
So any thoughts on another card besides netspend? I have a new local option available at the gas station. The loads are $2.95. The monthly fee is $2.95. Not bad on both ends there, but what kills me is the 5% foreign transaction fees. Arrgg.
Don't get me wrong Netspend is a great product, but paying either $1/transaction or the monthly $9.95 seems rather steep. Considering all of my local reload options seem to be a minimum of $3.95. I know murphy reloads em cheaper, but murphy is 30 miles away. Barely worth the extra drive if you know what i mean. So I spose I'm just looking for an alternative to only1 actually shutting me down. Cause I am using this card right now for pay roll to and would hate to be without my paycheck either.

If you have the Netspend Premier card you only pay $5.95 monthly and can reload at an HEB for free.

If you look at alot of the prepaid cards today, they are all from Metabank. Same cards just a different name.

I got that premier card ages ago in the mail one day out of the blue. I never even asked for it I mean but when I tried to activate it I couldn't and it's just been sitting here. LOL

Well I did get the one at the gas station. Knock on wood no transaction fees so far. So i am for once enjoying a rather cheap reload, $2.95 for the reload, $2.95 monthly fee. If they don't give me too much crap about foreign transactions I might even swap my paycheck to them. They'll even give me a $7.70 bonus just for my first direct deposit. Also for once it's not a metabank product. So I dunno, haven't heard of the bank either, but it seems to be a small bank like Metabank. So will let you guys know in about a month whether this is a good option or not.

Metabank is in big trouble with the OTS right now due to some usury charges levied again them.....so they may not be around much longer either. Netspend is seeking to swap out its Metabank backed cards to someone else....they too see the writing on the wall.

I've used it a few times but have seen a couple members here say their account was closed for doing gambling transactions so I quit using mine not wanting to lose the acct. entirely.
I've been trying to load my Only1 since last night and keep getting a processing error try again later and this is the 2nd time it's happened in a couple of months which is not cool. I called cs last time it happened and they couldn't give me a reason but said they would load it for me within a couple of hours. That never happened and I wasn't able to load it myself until the next day. I was thinking of changing my direct deposit over to Only1 but not if this is going to happen.
Anyone else ever have this happen? thanks

Yep it's there processing server. I have bought both the pay power and the only1 reload packs. Have had it happen with both of the packs over the past month. This would make it the 4th time in a month the server is having issues. The other reason why I'm jumping the fence and trying a different card. Even thought the pack that seems to fail the most is the pay power pack. I'm not sure if it's because there new or the server just isn't built to handle the load put on it. Either way I plan on jumping ship before I get too much money on there and have things go way word, but on either note. But on either note I gotta wait a full month to make sure my new card doesn't shut me down on too many foreign transactions before I make the total switch though.

Well I'm still waiting to load my money on the card. going on 4 days now. Called them so I could do it thru their automated system by phone. They told me I didn't enter the pin no. fast enough. Got my daughter over here since she's a text wiz and then they told her I'd tried to load it too many times so they put a hold on it. Of course I tried to load it several times. That's my money. This is it for me and I wouldn't advise anyone to put their direct deposit paycheck on it or anything else for that matter since when you're screwed your screwed and there's no bank to go to. I had to fax them the receipt and it will probably be a couple more days. They'll call me they said. Sure.

I hate when this happens but my whole problem with loading my visa1 was due to a mistake on the amount. Yes I'm the one that blew it. So, sorry visa1 you're still great, I'm stupid bla bla bla......but 5 days over a measly 3.95? Ok. :notworthy
