Online casinos and... SPYWARE!

Not sure how many of you run spyware detection, but I ran Ad-Aware on mine this morning and picked out approximately 150 registry items of spyware, all from Golden Palace. Any of you who have played at a Playtech powered casino should scan your system.

I would not put anything past Golden Palace, but these detections are very unreliable and need to be taken with a pinch of salt. For example, Ad-aware claims that Microgaming casinos install by stealth and no uninstaller is provided, which is clearly false. I think Ad-aware will detect any Playtech casino as Golden Palace, and if you look at the files, you will find that most of them are fonts and other files that cannot possibly be spyware.

Actually, all of them are various game states that are accessed each time you play, much like a cookie file. Maybe not malicious, but still...

I just downloaded Golden Palace for grins and got 67 spyware viruses. Just another reason to stay away from this group, as if I needed another.
Cheers

Have you actually looked at those "spyware" items? I installed Golden Palace and Ad-aware flagged 60 registry keys as spyware. There were just various game settings, not spyware.
