One casino's response to UIGEA doomsday

So, with December 1st approaching, I rather innocently sent an email to my favorite casino's CS (Inetbet) asking what, if anything, will happen to current US accounts and if they will still be accepting new US players after 12/1/09. Their answer was short and sweet:

"Our stance towards US players is not expected to change"

Has anyone else inquired at their favorites? Perhaps forum reps could weigh in?

Why wouldn't they?

If the UIGEA Ruling does in fact go into effect, it won't be a whole lot different to the US Player than it already is right now. And if the player is using a webwallet or pre-paid to initiate deposits and withdrawals, then that player should not see any difference at all.

You should have posted this in the "America the Beautiful" section of the forum though.

What are you referring to?

December 1st last year was when MicroGaming shut off any new USA players - is something else happening this December 1st too?

KK

KK,

CardPlayer reports that with that reality in place, the PPA is actively moving on Franks other poker-related bill, H.R. 2266: Reasonable Prudence in Regulation Act:, a piece of legislation that would delay the full implementation of the UIGEA from December 1, 2009 to December 1, 2010.

Read about it here...

True, UIGEA covers banks, not the casinos themselves, which makes me wonder why the software providers cut off US players in the first place. I just thought maybe, since the banks, in theory, will be paying more attention, some places might be skiddish. I also can't quite figure out why pre-paid cards are so much 'safer'. Is it because the processors that back them aren't considered "banks" under UIGEA? BTW, the one time I tried to deposit from my bank to QT, they questioned the charge. Appearently on their end QT showed up as a clothing store, and they wondered why I was spending so much at a store in a foreign country. You're right, I should've posted in ATB, mods can move it, my bad.

The majority of those that did were the ones that are publicly traded companies.

The relationships are looked at differently and in most cases the card is issued by a third party and not the bank directly.

You could have told them anything really. That particular question there is none of their damn business. I would have just told them something along the lines of..."I like the product that that particular clothing store carries" and "I like having my clothes imported because the thread count is much better"..lol :D

Cool ..

Told the truth actually. I have no idea why it's coming up as a clothing store, it's a pre-paid VISA account and I guess the processor is overseas (as it turns out the website that showed on my statement was QT's processor). All they really wanted to do was verify that I was the one who made the charge and that my card hadn't been stolen.
