Oh for F*%^ sake!!!!!!!!!!!

Neteller never did bother to get back to me from the three emails I sent them over a week ago. Tried to make a card deposit in my account, declined, but it went out of my bank account. I paid for it essentially, but it never appeared. It mysteriously re-appeared back in my bank yesterday.

Tried to verify my bank account three times with no success either.

The whole thing seems in a bit of a mess which, for a company which is supposedly a 'bank' - is frankly terrifying.

It seems as if the funds were placed on "hold". Was it a Visa card? I know with them when a transaction is declined, the funds will stay in limbo for 7 days, then it's released.

That's acutally Visa's rules, not the bank...I found this out the hard way. ;)

As far as the verification deposits from Neteller not going through, is it possible that your bank has blocked Neteller transactions?

It's never been an issue before though... I've deposited on the same card tons of times, always going through straight away. I don't think VISA here in the UK have the same restrictions.

In terms of the bank blocking neteller transactions, that would basically be game over for Neteller in the UK. I'm with one of the largest banks, and if they didn't allow in or out transactions - it'd essentially make them defunct.

Thanks to their entirely non responsive attitude, I'm forced to now try and find an alternative.

At least I'm saving money :D

That, I'm not sure of...It sounds like it may be a global "rule" for them, to protect against fraud, over-the-limit charges, etc.

It'd be interesting to get an answer from the bank to see why those Neteller deposits didn't go through. It would be even more interesting to hear Neteller's excuse if they didn't even try to make the attempt

Debit card

Can you not use a debit card instead weatherman? There is no charge for using one.

Debit cards charge no fee, but the transaction limits are a problem at some casinos. Take Jackpot Factory, to get the VIP Happy Hour requires 3400 to be deposited. With Neteller this can be done in a couple of big chunks, but with a debit card it needs well over a dozen small transactions. This leads to problems checking the statements for signs that money has gone but not arrived in the casino. Withdrawals back to debit cards are possible, but take about a week, making swift movement impossible. Many casinos will not refund to cards and will send a cheque, which can take weeks to receive, deposit in the bank, and make available for another casino. Only low rollers will be happy with this, as it will restrict their depositing.

Hmmm I see your point but there is a way around it.
For eg
You can deposit to moneybookers using your debit card while still using your credit card for the reasons you have set out above.Once you have built up enough credit in your moneybookers account using a debit card you can then use this account for transactions.
Would this work ok?

Not good

I won't use any company that has a premium rate line for normal customer issues. This only encourages them to generate such issues as they actually make a profit when they screw up!

Other companies that have used premium rate service lines have offered a third class standard of service, making sure they receive lots of calls!

At least if Neteller mess me about is costs THEM money if I have to call, spend 15 mins on hold, then get told I have to be "put through" to another department, go on hold etc etc.

With Neteller, I can transfer money direct to my bank for 1, and this takes around 5 working days. It can go in the other direction in a similar time.

I have some casinos that allow the debit/credt card limit to be spent in one big transaction, so I can play there first then withdraw to Neteller. I DO have my debit card registered at casinos, but it is for a last resort only!

In February, only ONE of my credit cards is set to treat casino deposits as purchases. All the other VISA cards treat ir as a cash advance, which means interest from day one, but they DO waive the usual advance fee if it is for gambling. This is probably a good thing though, as it makes compulsive gambling harder by putting up deterrents. The card companies may be worried about gambling debts becoming bad debts, and may perhaps ban it altogether as Mastercard mostly has (none of my Mastercards have ever worked, all are declined by the banks).

Sounds like you are going to stick it out.
Good luck with that.
As I say so far I have had no cause for complaint with moneybookers but this could always change. If it does I will update you.
By the way you do realise that if customers that are as unhappy as you with a service but continue to use it then nothing will change?
Keep looking for a viable alternative or in other words;
"Do'nt let the Bastards get away with it!" :p
Good luck.
