Barack OBAMA, during his Cairo speech, said: "I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America 's story."

AN AMERICAN CITIZEN'S RESPONSE:

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence ?

Bill of Rights?

Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England ? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America ? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights, aren't they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazis in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East . No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims who's asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo , Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America .

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan .

That, Mr. Obama is the "Muslim heritage" in America.

....I dont want to get in to it...beside Im not american...still

Can't lump all with some.

That "American Response" is so full of crap and inaccuracies, it is a sad thing to think some people might be swayed by this.

All that Pilgrim stuff...well we know what happened to the Native Americans. I would have left that part out. The American Revolution was about land ownership and money - and let's not forget that many slaves were from North Africa - who were Muslims.

American Civil War? It had nothing to do with freeing the slaves. It was about state rights and should have been named the "War of Southern Succession". Those freed slaves were treated like crap in the North just as bad as the South, so what the hell? Civil Wars are fought by forces which want to overthrow the government - the Southern States had no desire to overthrow Washington, they declared themselves a sovereign nation.

WWII? Hitler was a vegetarian. Does that mean that vegetarians are evil too? What about the North African forces that fought against and defeated fascist Italy (remember Ethiopia?).

What about the Muslims in the East that fought the Japanese? Or do you have to be an American citizen to count in that essay?

Muslims have been a big part of the Civil Rights movement. Black Muslims - who were undoubtedly a bit more radical than Dr. Kings followers, but they were active nonetheless. Some have been deemed heroes - Mohamed Ali for one.

Muslim's are a part of America - always have been. And now that American relies on Muslim oil, it's a biiiiig part of America :p

Sounds like right wing Christian propaganda if you ask me ;)

And if we start dealing out blame cards, the Nazis were mostly Catholic and Protestant. The American Indians were massacred by Christians...slaves from Africa were enslaved by....well, you get the picture.

And how 'bout that Spanish Inquisition? Anybody for a comfy chair?? :D

Well said Bryan...

I would have nominated your post too if the option were available, but at any rate you certainly touched on all of those inflammatory statements...well done.

I found this on the net and it disturbed me really bad

I was ready to go toe to toe with you Bryan on some of the issues you posted, just a couple, but for the most part i agreed with 80% of what you said. I was doing some back ground work on Dr. King that i wanted to post here, when i found this by mistake, i want people to know that the internet is full of crazed people who are hell bent on distorting history for their own sick agendas. Why are people so hateful and hurtful to one another, i will never understand it.

As a lover of American History and Politics i hope to have the chance to debate my disagreement on that 20% later on.

Please dont watch this if your easily offended as it offended me just not as an American but as a Human being. This is what i was going to post there but it wouldnt let me, i will not give that forum the satisfaction of my personal info, its a white hate group, this make me just so frigging sick.

What an asshole you are, my God i watched that and wanted to puke, are you crazy, insane or just un- human, well after i saw the name of this forum, its swine like you that gives all true Christians a black eye, God will punish you for this and your day will come, mark my words...................Sickened in the South

i so agree with what you just said. i see the word redneck used alot to put someone down. my husband calls himself a redneck. there is a story behind the word redneck we looked it up one time to get the real meaning behind the word. what we found was a very good story about how the word came about. and no i did,nt post this so anyone can go off on me again i just wanted peoples diffdent viwes on this letter. i have read everyones post and agree with almost everything that was said. you can not lump people together. there r bad in every group and every race. and yes casinomeister alot has been done in the name of God that should have never been done. does,nt make God wrong just the people who did it. but it also sounds as if ur lumping all the christians together. i don,t know if i would call myself a christian i really don,t belong to any religion or church i have yet to find one that does not put others down but i do belive in a higher power that goes by many names i choose to call him God. so in keeping this nice so as to not ruffle anyone feathers i also don,t think all christian should be lumped together. thanks everyone for ur posts:)my husband makes a good point. how many people have died caz of a book. the bible, the kerran, and all of the other books that people have killed other people in the name of.

Rob, I hope you are being funny.

If not, as a 'Southern Bible thumper' I take offense, Rob. There you go lumping all southerners in one pile. I am a dunked in the water baptised Southern Baptist, and I don't agree with one word of what was posted. I do agree with what CM posted.

Alot of people have been killed in the name of various religions or psuedo-religions. Bigotry and hatred are not just the domain of us Southerners. Some of us are pretty liberal.

So am I Annie, but that still does not change the fact that there are more Southern Bible thumpers in the right wing Christian propaganda machine than there are others. Just look up the stats on that one if you don't want to believe me...actually, I don't think you understood what I meant by the term "Southern Bible thumper" ...unless you are part of the right wing Christian propaganda movement...are you?

If you are going to post something controversial such as that, you should include your own view, otherwise people will just assume that IT IS your view.
:)

There were many Muslims who worked at the towers, who were passengers in the planes that hit the towers, and who were first responders who died that day.

Why are we discussing 9-11 today, and the further demonization of all things Muslim? Why aren't we talking about ultra-right-wing white Christians who bomb federal buildings today?

I do agree with what CM posted.

Sorry, but I have to go back to this statement also since I really don't believe that you truly know who the "right wing Christian" peeps are Annie.

Bryan said "Sounds like right wing Christian propaganda if you ask me" and then you state that you agree with what CM posted but not with what I posted...which is entirely your prerogative, for sure but still...

that right there tells me that you do not truly understand who the 'right wing' of the Christian propaganda movement are!

While I certainly understand that not all muslims are "bad", there is no denying the fact that it was indeed muslims that attacked the US on 9/11, and while it is grossly unfair to state that all muslims are to blame, it is also unfair not to acknowledge that muslims were to blame. More death and destruction has been caused throughout history in the name of God (whichever one you choose), than anything else. Those that would blame the west for the muslim hatred, forget the oppression caused by the muslim empires throughout history (Ottoman Emp., Persians, etc.). There is enough blame to go round, but the fact remains that 19 MUSLIM hijackers caused thousands of deaths a decade ago, and to ignore that and speak of the well intentioned may make you feel better, but many of us are still pissed off and will remain so until the true "peaceful" muslim religion supplants the radical, hate filled version of Islam we have today. Any religion that calls for the destruction of those who don't abide (jihad, kill the infidels, etc.), is at odds with what any religion is suppose to be about. (I am not affiliated with any by the way)

All we are saying, is give peace a chance..... J. Lennon

Thanks Jod, but I swear it gripes my azz to no end when some of these peeps here post some of this $hit and make these, IMO, ludicrous statements without having any basis or facts or knowledge whatsoever to back them up...ya know..
