Not a Casino, but....Moneybookers

Slotmachine

Dormant account
It's been about a month now. Moneybookers who have on file copies of my credit card, passport, knowledge of my personal bank account numbers, and all the rest of it, they have completely decided to ignore my repeated attempts to contact them. I have not received a single response. This is unacceptable. My account is locked due to failed credit card purchase (happens ever so frequently although the card is good) and they refuse to reopen it or even acknowledge that I exist at all.

I have now asked for my account to be completely closed and all my information to be disposed of. No response.

Nothing I can do, other than warn others that Moneybookers may not be the right choice if you want to deposit large sums of money. Never know what will happen..

Hi Veshi:

If you don't mind me asking, what range of money are we talking about here?

Not sure what you mean....but the balance I have in my moneybookers account right now is negligible so I'm not worried about that as such. All in all, I've deposited about 1000 via moneybookers.

Hi Vesi:

Can you clarify what the problem is. Are they not transferring funds to anf rom casinos? Have a good one.

Hey Cipher, the problem is as I described - they locked my account due to a failed credit card deposit and refuse to communicate at all. I can't transfer funds to and from anywhere now that my account is locked. It's been about a month now. They did request copies of my passport and credit card which I duly sent them and after that....silence..

I have a Moneybookers withdrawal that is almost 2 months old and I have still not received the money... I can't imagine how it is possible at an FSA-regulated service that the withdrawals are so slow. And this has happened several times in the past...

In addition, their customer service is really bad. If I'm lucky, they answer my e-mail in 1 week. If I'm unlucky, they don't answer at all... They promised 3 weeks ago that they will trace my withdrawal and get back to me as soon as possible. Of course, they didn't contact me since that.

If it would be the first time that this happens, I would say OK, but I have to go through this procedure almost always when I request a withdrawal.

Any ideas?

you could always try the phone numbers that are listed on the site (but they are premium rate numbers 25p/minute in the UK).

They were answering my emails ok last week when I was closing my sterling account so I could open a euro one.

That's ok but it's rather expensive to make international phone calls every time when I request a withdrawal. I sent them a new e-mail yesterday, maybe they'll answer within 1-2 weeks...

Thanks but NETeller in not available in Hungary (I don't really understand why, I know a lot of people who would be happy to use it).

Hungary really??? i thought since they are now a UK traded company they opened their services to more countries in the world... hmm interesting

Moneybookers withdrawal

I want to request a bank transfer withdrawal from Moneybookers. How is this service nowadays? Because in the past I did it more times, and sometimes it took 1 week, sometimes the same amount took 4 weeks.

Neteller is not in Hungary? What about in Maryland, USA!!! I've tried several times to register with Neteller and when I do, every state is listed in the United states except Maryland. Can any explain that one? :what:

Moneybookers

Complain to the FSA in the UK. They are obliged to respond to communications/complaints - they are not allowed to ignore you, although you may not be able to use the account.
Seems that E-Money issuers are having the same problems as casinos, poor service, sneaky changes and not informing users, (see my post about Click2pay). Even Neteller is not immune, but you can at least phone for free from europe on the 00800 code.
I find it annoying that an FSA regulated organisation is allowed to behave like this, but sometimes our regulators are very slow in addressing problems, and it is consumer bodies that tend to get action taken, but they need to be made aware of a problem in the first case, and need enough people to make similar complaints.
I had actually considered opening an account with Moneybookers myself, so thank you for this warning. I would rather not have to wait weeks or months for my money. A Neteller cheque takes 3/4 days and is 2, and they have introduced bank transfer to the UK now, although currently the process takes as long as receiving and paying in a cheque, but is only 1 and more convenient. (No walking to the bank/postbox involved!).
