Northeast US (not) Meister Meeting?

Well, it's obvious to me that the Forum Admins. have no intention of ever coming anywhere near where I can afford the time or money to go to. Oh sure, they taunted us a few times but never seriously Apparently, the Meister himself lived in the US for a year and never said a word about it until he left.

I've been a member here for almost 2 years and I never gotten to meet any of my fellow forum mates.

Would anybody be interested in a 'Meet and Greet' (and eat) in the Atlantic City area?

I don't think we could get any sponsors (they don't care about us either) so it would probably have to be Dutch. Perhaps The Borgata, representing the first US based CM accredited casino could give us some kind of a 'convention rate' and rope us off a small section in the Buffet. Their rep., Jason Frank might be able to help us out a little.

I'm sure there are quite a few members within a few hours drive. If anybody with organizational skills thinks this idea has any merit I sure would like to see it happen.

Cool idea John, I recollect seeing similar threads, I think there were a few U.S. meets before, also think Bryan does visit the big U.S. conventions, so if you do too, you can meet him there at the next big one, or in Vegas, I think he goes there too sometimes

I'd love to pop over, but not likely will do so soon, like Europe for you, U.S. is a big leap for me to make, just for a meet and greet! Will follow this thread though, hoping the idea takes off, and there will be some funny pic's of the bacchanal that you folks meeting up might constitute

I have not been to AC in at least 20 years. Every summer I say I'm going to do it but then I don't. Spirit air had cheap non stop flights too.
I'd be up for it during the summer when it's not too cold

Can't speak about his future plans but you should maybe walk a little softly regarding Bryan's time in San Diego. It was mostly a family thing and he was more or less on sabatical while he was there. Just sayin'.

I'm afraid I'm not catching your meaning here .. but seems that's no biggie since you've said you understood my point. Just to be clear I was saying that Bryan was very on-and-off the radar while he was state-side: there was no intent to ignore or slight anyone he was simply (largely) otherwise occupied.

I understand fully why someone would stay under the radar, I could easily see hundreds of people each expecting some face time without regard for his own personal time.

I was simply making light of the situation as I probably do too often. Thanks for the follow up.

While I would all be for a USA based meeting, to me this would be have to be something done a bit in secret. Not saying the feds personally track us folks here for our gambling activities but you never know.
Plus I'm sure we'd get a sponsor, but with most US facing casinos already having hell of a time getting money into the US. The next major task would be trusting a person with money enough to make sure the money was actually spent on a get together and not being squandered on something else. I sort of believe the whole thing in the UK is easier for someone like Club World to sponsor. Mainly because it's easier to send a rep over to UK without the fear of being picked up like if they entered the US.
So while I"m for a meeting, I think there would have to be some discretion involved too if you know what I mean.

There certainly appears to be many hurdles but there are many groups that 'skirt the law' or engage in downright illegal activities that have meetings all over this Country. As long as you are not doing it there at that time there should be nothing to fear from a players standpoint and I don't picture anybody except maybe a few of the members being involved. TBH, I would be happy if 10 or 12 of us got together just to meet new people and share a chuckle.

I put this in the attic kinda because I know it has little chance of success but I still keep my hopes high.

Anyways, I will be at The Borgata Tuesday and Wednesday night and while I'm there I will try to talk to a host and at least determine the feasibility of such a thing like how many people they would consider a 'group' where they would give a little special treatment. Of course I wont mention this site or any other names as I have no credentials for that.

When I get back I'll update with what I find out.
