In the course of handling player complaints we inevitably run across some pretty shoddy operations, often located in questionable licensing jurisdictions. We offer a few of those stories now as cautionary tales for other players. The licensing jurisdictions are named for reference.
Playboom24.com, Costa Rica : The player won several thousand euros and immediately set a wager limit which the casino confirmed was in place. Less than 24 hours later they were able to play away a portion of their winnings with no wager limit in effect. When the player complained to the casino they removed the player's entire balance. The player complained again and the balance was restored but the casino said they could only withdraw to a bank account in their home country. Then they were told that there was no problem and the balance was available for withdrawal. The player tried multiple times to withdraw and the casino repeatedly cancelled the requests and restored the balance. The player came to us for assistance but in spite of multiple attempts the casino never responded.
This part of the Warning (regarding Bitsler) is no longer applicable and as far as we know Bitsler is good to go:
CasinoFantastik.com, No License/License Unspecified : The player's whole balance of several thousand dollars was confiscated, the casino claimed the max bet rules had been violated. The player says no bonus was in play at the time and nowhere in the General Terms & Conditions was a max bet rule given. Needless to say the casino was unresponsive to the player's complaints. In all fairness the player had been aware that the casino had a bad reputation: "I know that CasinoFantastik is a not recommended casino and have the worst reviews ever, but I didn’t believe they where scammers." Several thousand dollars gone with no recourse for getting it back is a harsh way to confirm a bad reputation.

Bitsler.com, Belarus : The player reported that during a site update the casino "lost" the player's balance of 10BTC. When the player complained to the casino they were accused of money laundering and told to speak to a 3rd party designated by the casino. The player did, the 3rd party agreed that the player was not at fault and that the casino "decided to punish me". The casino apparently ignored the 3rd party's decision, claimed they had no direct relationship with that person, and ignored the player's repeated attempts to get their balance back. The player came to us and the casino ignored us too.
[update: as spotted by one of our loyal readers (see below) the license now lists as Curacao 8048/JAZ.]
[update 20231116 : just to complete the story here, it turned out the player's complaint was quite old, years old. The casino people came forward and asked for some further info but the player was either unavailable or unable to fulfill the request and we heard nothing further from them.]
