Hi everyone I am completely new to this forum so please treat me gently lol.

I have a question for you all, I signed up to SpinGenie the other day as they were offering 50 free spins no deposit required for new members and payday was a week away so i fancied me some free action. Now I no the max withdrawal after wagering for nearly every no deposit bonus is £100 and that usually never crosses my mind as i'm generally bankrupt in 5 minutes. However luck was massively on my side that night I won £19 from my 50 free spins on gonzo after managing to hit free falls within the 50 and then proceeded over the next 2 hours to raise my balance to over £400 with roughly 300 left to wager. Obviously I was ecstatic £100 for free playing slots i love. Knowing I was guaranteed my 100 now I played twin spin knowing this would sink or skyrocket my balance as I didn't need to worry. I cashed out my hundred and then it hit me....

This max cash out on no deposit bonuses is a massive con to everyone at the casino and heres why:

    - My session will have contributed to the overall rtp of all the slots i got lucky on
    - The casino having given 50 free spins at 20p value only put up £10
    - The £234 that was taken away goes straight back to them
    - Spingenie actually made £224 extra profit from my session which they wouldn't have made if someone who had deposited would have had my luck
    - The big winner here was the casino and the major losers were all the loyal members of the casino who would have paid for my big wins of which i wasn't even entitled to

Im by no means upset with the £100 i got, yeah it would have been extra special if I would have gotten all what I won when wagering was complete but i was certainly happy. However thinking that the casino just made even more profit at the expense of their members upsets me they dont need the extra money. I had a similar situation at Quatro Casino where I won over £300 with there £20 free bonus however with them they just leave the extra in your account which makes it even more confusing as you literally cant do anything with it, if you win with it you cant withdraw it so seems really stupid.

My belief is that they should either let the player withdraw all but the value of the spins or bonus they gave you, or the money they take away should be donated to a worthy cause!

Would love to here all of your thoughts on this one..

    Thanks Zach

    Firstly welcome to the forum:thumbsup:

As for your point most people who sign up to a casino and take free spins with a max cashout of £100 would be glad just to receive the £100. Most times chances of making it are very slim and with quite a few casinos actually getting paid if you win is not guaranteed so at least you played at a reputable casino.

It makes no odds to other players whether or not they cancel the rest of your winnings when they pay you out. Your winning over the £100 will have no effect on another players results whilst they are playing. And its not really making much difference for the casino either way. They will not treat it as money saved as until a player gets paid out the amount in their balance is just numbers.

A lot of casinos have the max cashout as they are just an incentive for players to see how a casino works and test the casino out.

They don't want to risk players that have no intention of ever depositing winning 10s of thousands from the free spins hence the reason they set a max cashout.

There seems to be a trend of players taking issue with casinos with balances that are left over from these types of promos.

From personal experience I have always had the mindset of trying to reach the cash-out limit and that would be an achievement in itself. Although it sucks to have the remainder forfeited, it is superflous money and was just a means to an end really.

TRP is still a subject we truly know very little about but there is less chance of you repeating this trick on a session by session basis, maybe 1- in - 20 sessions so a £100 is better than a kick in the nuts when all is said and done.

You speak of a sense of entitlement & how the casino is duping you out of money, but those were the terms you agreed to......it sounds more like you want to renege on the agreement after the matter has concluded.

I have found myself a few hundred £££s up after meeting cashout limits and the best you could hope for is to play the remaining couple of hundred on other games to build up some type of loyalty points until you get to £100 again, that's what I did. At least you'd be making use of the extra funds!

As I see it you won £100 without having to do anything but play, and the casino lost £100.

We have a tendency to go back to our lucky place and that is the only way they can win anything on you, or that you are spreading the rumour so your friends sign up too.

Congratulations on your win and welcome to CM

Sorry to be frank about this but, really? You say your "more than happy" with your £100 win, which is more than most people make in a days work, yet your post ends "My belief is that they should either let the player withdraw all but the value of the spins or bonus they gave you, or the money they take away should be donated to a worthy cause!"

You either dont want to, or simply dont realize a casino is a business, first and foremost the casino didn't "win" when you signed up which cost you nothing, you played, which cost you nothing, you won which cost you nothing and you withdrew, which yet again, cost you nothing.

the casino? it costs to advertise and believe me, its alot. It costs for you to even hear about them, they pay to host the site you played at, they have paid somone to process that withdrawal you made, and they also gave you a bonus when you signed up something they did without needing to, they out of goodwill issued you a comp to enjoy yourself with.

And the response? "My belief is that they should either let the player withdraw all but the value of the spins or bonus they gave you, or the money they take away should be donated to a worthy cause!" im flabbergasted, i apologize if your simply just unaware if you didnt know, but a casino is a business. Its goal is to make money.

Let me just mention, that "extra credit" you think the casino keeps? they dont. You didn't deposit anything so its a phantom number and the casino gains nothing, it lost £100, i genuinely think you just dont realize what your trying to say, in laymens terms, someone has given you £100 free and your arguing that person gave you £100 when they had £500 in their wallet and your entitled to it.

i again apologize if i seem to be harsh.

I think your wrong though, im well aware a casino is a business but i dont see how you can say they lost 100. The cost for my no deposit bonus was £10.

The casino will get paid by there slots based upon the rtp of a slot! Me winning what i did was part of the rtp pool and having won what i did and them taking back over 200 that is profit for them as its money that they would have lost had someone else not bound by the welcome terms had my session.

My session will have contributed to the slots rtp therefore others playing that slot may have lost in order to even out the rtp!

NOT if the customer hasn't deposited anything they won't!
You're trying to equate 'phantom' funds with real cash.

Going by your twisted reasoning the casino could give you a £10k chip and still 'make' on it!

100 people take the sign up bonus and deposit 0, they all play 100 spins on the same slot, that slot gives a 95% RTP, the casino pays 50 players, the other 50 lose.

Now again explain how the casino has made anything.

If you dont understand the casino lost £100+costs on your sign up, you just dont understand how online casinos work.

Well the few £100 is only a tip of the iceberg when talking about the RTP, It wouldn't even notice it,

With the max limit its a bit of a bugger but you could of built up features such as IR, jp, Also collect prizes so after you make a deposit you can go back and collect them,

I play this site abit and other than the lack of games its great

I think the OP's point that a win on free spins is at the expense of other players is a valid one. However, as several others have pointed out, these winners are few and far between.

Free spins are the modern day no deposit bonus - new name same theory. Just a simple way to draw you in and get you playing. Spin Genie have been advertising on the TV a lot here in the UK and I can't help thinking their ads are for a social games app - but thats a discussion for another thread.

By the way, welcome to the forum zach2193

Earlier this month I got a mail shot 2 x £25 NDB, with an individual wager per £25 of 40x (£1,000)

It went straight in my council maintained filing cabinet...

I then sat down for my afternoon browse through CM and thought I'd do a quick search on the casino in question (Casino Dukes) - as I expected mostly negative BUT some ok..ish more recent comments.

So I thought 'what the heck' I'll have a trawl thru T&C, ask live chat max stake/cashout, nowt to lose etc.

Main term was you have to stick to the same game for whole of WR, however I must have caught it 'hot' and completed WR in about 1 1/2 hours @ 1.50bets with a peak balance of £270.

The £170 'excess' did not slightly phase me, even after the £13.14 wire fee I felt I had just found nearly £90 in my recycling bin, especially for the fact It came from a casino I'd never heard of, never mind played at and not one of my 'regular haunts'

Buzzed about this at the time better than a standard w/d. At the end of the day nothing better than free, no risk money :D :D :D

    Hi,

I am NOT saying this is what the opinion writer is, but

this whole thing brings to mind the NDB of many years ago.

Players were jumping on any bandwagon (casino) that had a NDB.......

then after winning or not........ never came back to deposit.

People would actually seek out those bonuses, play them and, if they

win OR lose......... never come back.

Of course this was back before, ID's, CC verifications, and authorization forms.

    Hi Zach

Think of it as if you were playing for fun money, the casino lets you have 50 spins on the machine and if you get it to £100 they will pay you the money. anything over that is voided, they haven't made any thing on the excess but they have lost £100 on the payout. Your situation is exactly the same as this.

The RTP of the other players isn't affected in anyway, every spin for every player is totally random and independent of any other spin so you didn't take away a win from another player.

There was no £224 profit for the casino, this isn't a real machine that spits out money into the cash tray. if the Casino could make money this way why would they need customers? they would just give themselves endless free spins and keep the profit and save on all the costs that they spend running the casino.

At the end of the day the only money the casino can make is from players depositing, the slots are not filled with money waiting to be emptied.

Think of it as if I was sitting with you and tossing a coin, everytime you call correctly i will give you £5 but I will not pay you more than £100 we could play for ages till I end up owing you £400 but I only give you £100, that doesn't mean I have made £300 profit for myself. It's just the maximum I was prepared to lose was £100.

The only difference to any of this is if you won a progressive then that money should be returned to the pot and any player that played while the progressive was missing should be compensated.

Usually all casinos would offer their new players no deposit bonuses, to test the casino out.
All no deposit bonuses would come with a max cash out (100 is one of the fairest ones imho)

    Advises:
    - Always read the terms on the no deposit bonus;
    - Ask support and get a written confirmation about any doubts you'd have;
    - Ask support to confirm your eligibility for that no deposit bonus, in writing;
    - No deposit bonuses are usually given to test the games out, and not to get abuse them; Make sure not to create multiple accounts to claim the same bonus.
    - Always keep playing! You can withdraw the maximum amount, of course; However, with the rest, if you play you'll get either loyalty points that you can redeem later as Cash or more Bonus money, or you can climb up a ladder (and get rewarded with free spins / bonuses) which would require more and more wagering.

    Hi Zach2193

Thankyou for the post and thankyou to everyone for your feedback.

We feel that our ’50 Free Spins’ offer is very fair, transparent and competitive. It's ts and cs are communicated clearly on the promotions page and we do display an in game message at the time the maximum cap of £100 is applied.

This offer is a no-deposit/no-risk promotion and, should a player be lucky enough to convert the Free Spins to cash, then we pay out to the lucky winner. We don't ask for any further deposit as a condition and Spin Genie has numerous winners that we have paid out without receiving any deposit at all.

Therefore, the welcome free spins is a completely zero risk promotion for new players and, in cases such as this, this is a £100 loss to the Casino and £100 net gain for the player.

Once a player has passed this initial 'No Deposit Offer' then there are no caps on any further promotions.

I hope this helps and thanks everyone for the input.

    Have a Great Day :)

    Regards

    Spin Genie Rep
