There are a bunch of new slots at Intercasino. I've got some screenshots and reviews for them but I'm going to break it into a couple of posts to keep it from getting too long.
General Comments:
The new slots open in a separate window and you can resize them.
The default coin value for the new games is now 5 cents per line. This is a huge improvement from the former 1.00 per line that many people (including myself) have complained about previously in this forum.
The games and the artwork are pretty well-crafted. They sometimes suck up a little too much CPU, but it looks like they're trying to balance performance and presentation.
Reel in the Cash
This is a really entertaining, low variance game even though I did see some decent prizes in one of the bonus rounds that I played. There's lots of creativity in the animations and symbols. Little fish swim around the reels. It's very soothing. Even the royal symbols are well thought out and have some mini-animations. I hit 5 bonus rounds in 300 spins on this game. I'm sure I was a little luckier than average by triggering that many, but it was mostly lots of smaller payouts. I had one huge hit-I had upped my bet to 15 cents per line for just a few spins and got lucky. After playing the bonus round, a 3.00 bet turned into 399.00!
You get three chances to choose a lure (which is your multiplier) then choose a fishing hole. There are cute animations of reeling in your cash, er catch
. They did a nice job of working in some old fishing cliches.
In the main game, when a wild symbol (a golden lure) show up in a winning combination, the royal symbols (that look like fish) have this little 'hypnotized' animation. It doesn't pay more, but it's cute.
I wound up making $400 on this game with 1.00-3.00 bets
Samba Nights
This one hit me up for a whopping $5, but it was a crazy ride. 300 spins on this 50 line 4x5 stacked wild game and it must be pretty high variance. I was up 20, down 30, hit nothing for 5 or 6 spins, then hit big (between 5 and 23 dollars at 1 cent per line). It was all over the map and really exciting. The dancing girl is the wild symbol and plays one big animation if the whole reel is full of wilds. That animation did seem to slow down my poor old CPU a little bit, but when you bet 50 cents and get paid $23 from just a few line wins without a bonus round, it's pretty cool. I wasn't very lucky in the one bonus round I triggered (20 free spins at 2x), getting only $18, but I can see how even a 2x multiplier can help you get a big win in the free spins on occasion. I played a few spins at 5-10 cents per line, but didn't hit anything big-even when I got all wilds in the first reel (see pic below) I got shut out on that spin
. I still like the game; it can pay off big, but it's for gamblers.
There's something for everyone with just these two games. A gentle 20 line game with a cool bonus round and a wild, high variance 50 line game with free spins. I'll finish my thoughts on Call of Duty and the other new slot game in a different post.
