Yep, scary indeed. Maybe it'll be like way back in the day where they rounded people up and ruined their lives if the Govt thought you were a communist.

Anyone remember reading/hearing about that?

I've seen a movie on it, and that was VERY scary. They would even go by hear-say. If someone told the authorities that you were a communist, that's all it took....BOOM, you're arrested.

The McCarthy era you're speaking of. In more recent years we had the DirecTV gestapo. They extorted thousands upon thousands of dollars from ordinary citizens they suspected of signal theft (pay up or we're taking you to court and dragging your name through the dirt), even going so far as to pulling signal 'theives' off foreign planes under the Patriot Act cloak. Some were guilty, yes -- but others were not, but paid up rather than pay court fees and possibly lose their jobs, their reputation, etc. (Anyway, how do you prove a negative?) My point is... taking down the big guys wasn't enough... they went after the little guys. And our government let them.

The DoJ witch hunt and the subpoenas of company records, bank records and possibly all NETeller records (how can the DoJ DO that??) is very spooky. I know they want to take as much money as they can from the casinos and NETeller. But I am also afraid there's going to be some trickle down effect. Hell, almost all of us have our name, address, ss#, picture DL at most of the casinos on the net. NETeller has all my banking and ID info. Just how safe do I feel?

While we and many other regard gambling as NOT illegal, evidently the DoJ likes to pretend that it is, and it could be a very nasty situation should they decide to come down on affiliates and then players. I, for one, could not afford the legal battle to prove them wrong.

a little info about netspend gift cards. yesterday i went to make a deposit at cake poker and it was denied. they said it was because 3 credit card #'s were used for 3 different deposits and their security wont allow that. i explained that it was gift cards and, of course, they have different #'s. no go. this is the first place to deny the gift cards for any reason. i hope others dont follow.

I had that also. Customer support then went in and deleted them out for me so I could use another one.

i asked if they could do that also. they said there was no way to override the security. then they told me they were working on new deposit methods for the coming weeks, blah, blah, blah... too bad. its a nice site.

forgot to add that they said it was a third party processor. that was the reason they couldnt do it.
