New Intertops Casino for US Players

Here's the wording:

MICROGAMING AND INTERTOPS CASINO RELATIONSHIP DRAWS TO A CLOSE

20 May 2009, Isle of Man, Microgaming has today announced its agreement with Intertops Casino is drawing to a close, due to Intertops Casino wishing to operate in the US market. Microgaming has powered the well established online casino for over a decade, and has enjoyed a successful relationship with it.

Intertops.com accepted the worlds first ever online sports bet, and enjoys a top reputation in the online gaming industry. Microgaming is the worlds largest gaming software provider and powers over 120 of the worlds most profitable casino sites.

Michl Posch, Head of Marketing comments: Intertops Casino is proud to have been powered by such a reputable, market-leading, gaming software provider over the past decade. The assistance that Microgaming has provided in the change process has been extremely helpful.

The move follows Microgaming operators continuing commitment not to accept US player registrations.

So it looks like, judging by Intertops move here that they were impacted more by the US pullout than some had previously expected. I'm sure it's not only Intertops either that has felt that impact but I would venture a guess that other MG properties are also now considering the same action that Intertops has just managed.

Might not be a good move though.

When regulation comes... and it is coming... I got a feeling that the Regulators are not going to be looking kindly toward ANY company that was operating in the USA during the dark age of UGIEA... Just my opinion.

FTR: Intertops [MGS] is NOT pulling out of the USA.

For whatever reason, MGS is just now (remember, this happened MONTHS AGO at other MGS casinos) forcing the IP blocks for those in banned states (or if your IP points to a banned state, like mine). I just had to re-send my documents to Intertops so my account can be re-opened.

So why in God's name is Microgaming themselves announcing they are severing their relationship with Intertops? None of this makes any sense..but ask me if I'm surprised.

My accounts at both Intertops and Royal Joker are available, and they are STILL running the usual (crap) promotions there. They DO also advertise the availability of the new "red" casino.

Now, according the the OFFICIAL statement from MGS, the RELATIONSHIP has been severed, not just an enforcement of IP blocking.

From this, I would suspect that MGS have told Intertops they are to lose their Microgaming licenses, but since this is NOT a case like TUSK, they are to be given a period of notice.

What I find worrying is that Intertops KNOW this, yet are pretending to all their NON US players that it is "business as usual" at the two MG casinos.

This could mean non US players suddenly finding themselves transferred over to the red casino with little notice, and worrying about any money they might have had in the two MGS casinos.

BOTH MGS and Intertops need to make it CLEAR what is going to happen to these MGS casinos.

Last year, it seems that MGS first wanted to give a mere few DAYS notice, but later agreed to hold off till the end of the month so that players could play off bonuses, or withdraw through the software.

There is certainly no case for sending NEW players to the MGS skins until we know what MGS actually mean by "relationship terminated".

Yea, I don't get what you're talking about Win, seeing this quote right here from MGS:

Still trying to figure that one out....waiting on a reply from Intertops now..

So, can you tell me when your MGS (green) casino will be closing?

I've been seeing reports all over the place that MGS is severing their relationship with Intertops.

Thanks,
Brian

According to the email I received from Intertops yesterday, they will still have the green casino, the red casino and Royal Joker.

Hello,
>I was reading on CasinoMeister that Intertops is parting ways with Microgaming. Does this mean that Royal Joker will stop allowing players from the US to play? What will happen to any comps from Intertops (ie: Fantasy golf program)?
>Thank you for your time.
>Sincerely,

The way I read the MGS release, the " contract is drawing to a close" phraseology implies their licensing agreement has not yet been terminated but will be soon.

At that point I assume that Intertops will advise all of their "green" players accordingly.

Maybe, maybe not. I was never told that my account was blocked the other day because MGS finally imposed the IP blocks on players in/near the "banned states." I had to find out on my own by logging in and seeing that my account was locked.

Once I sent my ID's in, my account was reactivated within the hour. The point is that they never even bothered to tell me it was locked in the first place.

Just a heads up to anyone playing the new Red casino bonus, according to Intertops support Caribbean Stud Poker and Caribbean Draw Poker are classified as Video Poker Games and as such are excluded from allowed games on the sign up bonus. Your playthrough meter will not decrease playing these two games.

I tried arguing with them, I even got a manager on the phone but they were very insistent. C'mon Intertops you're better than this.

These are the terms on the website....

2. Bets on all versions of Baccarat, BlackJack, Craps, MultiHand Video Poker, Roulette, Sic Bo, Video Poker, Tri Card Poker, Caribbean Hold'em and War will not fulfill the minimum wager requirement.
