What ya think about this one.
It's a new game by Rival
Cosmic Quest Episode 2

I wish they should come out with new names and not the 1,2,3 & so on.
Like Bingo Blast or "Go to Jail For Stealing" or "Criminals Are Pickpocketers (cap)"

Cosmic Quest Episode 2

Rival Casino's launch a new game. Cosmic Quest Episode 2 It's a Mystery Planets, a thrilling 20-Line, 10-coin i-Slot which is the second in a series of Cosmic Quest i-Slots. This revolutionary interactive video slot features free spins, multipliers, expanding wilds and a brand new skill-based bonus round!
True Skill-based bonus round. Better play receives higher win.Practice makes perfect. The new Rocket Racer bonus round awards coins based on how well you navigate the rocket ship through the caves. The further you get, the more coins you will receive.
Secondary 'Random Win' bonus round Introducing for the first time: Random win choice during skill-based bonus rounds. Choose this option from within the bonus round if your flying skills are not upto scratch!

Played it in funsy mode yesterday and found it less than wonderful. Just like the other one, just with different bonuses. Hit the free spins once and the other bonus once. Both payouts sucked. Need more originality for new games.

I hit a couple of line wins on 0.20 one for over 20 & another for 34 which is decent thanks to the expanding wilds, but wasn't impressed with the bonus rounds, with the flying game the controls aren't responsive so it's very hard to control, Never got anything on the free spins either.

Played it a bit last night - and was very under-impressed. :(

Hard to see where any big wins are going to come from unless you line up 3 or more expanding wilds; this doesn't seem very likely - I had to play well over 50 spins before I could even be sure that there is a wild on all the reels - they are as rare as rocking-horse droppings!
Other line wins I got were totally pathetic.

Did you notice how lazy the design is? Same music as CQ1, and they even pinched the same expanding wild graphic off the first one! Looks really silly because the wild rockets are yellow until triggered, then they suddenly turn red! :eek2:

I got the free-spins 3 or 4 times, and coincidently my best win from them was also about 4 x my bet... :eek2:
Got the spaceship feature once, but my (or the game control's) slow reactions meant an early crash & a win of only bet x1!! By other Rival slot's bonus standards, that is worse than a sick joke.

It's very hard to see how they rate this slot as having a return of 99%, as claimed in the rules...

I think this one might take a very long time to grow on me.

played it earlier and hit this 2nd spin, hit the free spins a couple of times which paid about 20x bet,and the other bonus several times, i tried doing it in skill mode and won 1x bet twice then tried the other mode and got 12x bet,
it seems like the rest of the high varience slots at rival,if its your lucky day you may win big,

I wasnt

impressed, I got the spins a few times, but the payout was shocking, one time was 35 spins for a whopping $6, on a $2 spin, I didnt try doing the rockets myself, but got a $12, and a $24, I got $40 on one single spin, and that was the max, but overall I found it a bit zzzzzzzzzz.

On the times Ive played for fun, on the scarys, Im sorry to say every time Ive hit something ridiculously huge, I struggle to see they are set the same way.

I just love the wee message too, youve just won $xxxxx do you want to play for real, (sorry dont recall the exact wording).

Ive had no luck since my Mayan adventure on the rivals, so time for a rest for them.

Ok, I played this long enough (in real mode) to get both bonus rounds. Here's the breakdown:

I went 120 spins at $.20 then jumped up to $1. 8 spins in at $1, I got the skill bonus, which paid x20.

After 14 more spins - bonus again. I picked the random instead of skill this time, and received x13.

Highest paying wins: 2x $32.50 line wins @ $1. At .20, one spin netted me $11.xx.

After 201 total spins, I moved to $1.40, and got nothing to write home about. After 23 spins @ $1.40, I moved to $2.

After 14 spins @ $2, I got the skill bonus again. I noticed this time, the cavern was MUCH shorter than the ones at $1. Bonus x16, even though I made it through the whole cavern without crashing, as opposed to the first time through at $1. :what: *note to self, why isn't there a bonus for making it to the end of the cavern and landing safely?*

I finally received 10 FS on my first spin back from the above bonus. The winning breakdown is easy to remember. It was a whopping 2 spins; 1 netted me $.60 and the other $1.

Disappointing to say the least. I have to say though, I love that they changed the wilds in this version to expand during regular play as opposed to only in the FS.

Breakdown -

Top line pay: $32.50 (@ $1)
Top bonus pay: $32.00 (@ $2)
Peak balance: +$68.xx
Lowest balance: -$2
Total spins: 236
Ending balance: +$7

One "annoying" mistake, at least visually, is that the rocket ship 'blasts off' even if it doesn't complete a win. It's annoying when it's on the 5th reel and you're trying to figure out if you really hit 5oak or not.

Last night I hit the bonus and took the skill version playing $1 - got all the way thru and won $26.00.

Hit it again and took the random win playing $1, and won $58.

So....whats the point of going thru the skill game it its going to be worth less than the random bonus??? I have a feeling the max win is set at the beginning (like Cosmic 1 in the planet shoot), except that if you crash you end up with less!

Seems like you may as well take the random.

P.S. anyone notice that the wilds come up much less often in the free games?

PS: Yep, I noticed that too

This bonus round is quite similar to the Bahamas stop in Baby Boomers, when you hit the skeet shooting round. It keeps stats of how many you hit and how many shots you took, but the stats mean jack @#$@#! If you'll remember when it first came out, we all posted some crazy screenshots of that bonus round, proving that no matter what you did, the winnings ARE pre-determined.

Take for instance a winning round won with hundreds of shots and no clay pigeons hit vs a round that went 12/12 with 12 shots fired.

Or how about Hole-In-Won? How you could take 100 putts and win more than if you got a hole in one.

Except on this one, if you crash you lose and it didn't really seem like you could gain anything by using the skill mode.

Hole-in-Won though I always get the same win with the same amount of putts.

It's a bit odd really.
In my mind (and many 1000's of spins) ALL the picking bonuses and so-called "skill games" on Rival slots have a pre-determined win - or at least, maximum win. Except on these two Cosmic games where using your skill you CAN actually win less than the maximum.
So how do they compensate for that to achieve the slots overall RTP %

:what: I don't think you've played it enough.
I have definitely had different win amounts for the same number of putts.
Often more for say 3 putts that for 2.

I've played the bonus round once or twice and I saw it count up like this...

580,590,500,510,520,530..

Definately pre-determined to me, the skill sounds more of a chance to lose less, then to win more...
