CM Announcement New forums for non-Accredited casino promotions

Thanks for the detailed explanation of the process - most of it sounds fairly reasonable, with one exception:

3. The Content people do a new review for Casino X which usually includes the Max’s Desk comments from me. FTR I write these personally and I check to ensure that what I’ve said is what ends up in that section of the review. I have no control or influence over anything outside of the Max’s Desk section of the review. Webzcas will announce the new review on the forums.

The review section is one of the major gateways into the site, and by extension the forums.

As someone who has previously questioned a number of reviews for their accuracy and/or tone (of which some were resolved and some were not):
  • going forward, what oversight (if any) is there from the rest of the business - including the CM forum team - for these reviews?
  • going forward, what feedback mechanism - for the community as well as staff - will there be to correct and/or dispute reviews?

The latter point is pretty straightforward. Any forum member is free, without prejudice, to examine the reviews and the terms of any sites advertised and raise questions, proffer opinions and give feedback if they've experienced the casino(s). We aren't perfect, errors can be made and things missed which is partly why the forum membership is vital here. Nothing will be censored or ignored within the acceptable standards of response.

With the volume of new casinos there will inevitably be some points of contention especially around terms, offers, licensing etc. and once we are aware of any oversights, omissions or negative aspects copy can be updated. The new casinos do not have carte blanche to act without challenge or with impunity and are subject to the same critique as all others.

Excellent questions! And very much relevant questions too. Truth is that’s a weak spot right now and we need to scope something out to make it work better — or at all — for all concerned. What’s currently in place for this? Not bloody much! We’ve got a proposal in to have the “Report” feature added to Reviews but that’s still in the “consideration” phase. Waffle aside, clearly something needs to be done to address this.

As an interim measure — applicable at least to the new casinos coming on — Webzcas makes an announcement for each. That’s a prime spot for comments and critiques (rushes off to see whether the general readership can comment on those announcements).

This, for example, happened with the wonderfully named gamix casino that was recently reviewed.

I had spotted an error in the review as it mentioned details that were related to a slightly different gamix casino with a different url (easy mistake to make). I made webzcas aware of the issue and he and maxd forwarded it to the Gentoo folks whilst both of them made clarifications to the thread.

definitely can I found myself replying to those quite frequently but havent done the last few to avoid being annoying!

Yes, good idea, reporting of errors in reviews. Open to all. For that reason only, not other beefs. The only downside potentially would be transparency - some valid and potentially important observations may not be on public view if sent via the reporting system and at this time openness has taken on quite some significance. One to think about.

No, no, don’t worry. We need a way to gather feedback on these so if you’ve got words to share, share ‘em!

Excellent point. Something to think about indeed.

Just kicking ideas around my head … can readers add comments on the Reviews? I remember back in the day that was possible but TBH I’ve lost track of where that currently sits. Might something like that suffice? At the very least it would attach the comments to the Reviews directly and thus (potentially) be good feedback for the Content people.

Also remember that when a new casino review is publicised on the forum by in the main myself, I will mention whether said casino is in the Grey Zone or Neutral Zone.

This in itself is quite an important point, because if the casino is without a forum rep they will land in the Grey Zone. Max's Desk comments are also very important and hence I will in the main always quote from them, when introducing the casino to the forum.

To avoid giving myself an aneurysm, I checked just the 2024 reviews. I realised after posting to the ybets thread it would be a bad idea to bump 20 threads so here is a list instead;
  • Bizzo - 8048/JAZ needs to be replaced with KGC and pending CGB
  • CasinoVibes - 365/JAZ needs to bre replaced with active GCB
  • Casombie - is a rabidi site and still mentions curacao licencing but is now a Novaforge Anjouan site.
  • Fruta - Hold an estonian licence as mentioned in the review but also have had an active GCB licence
  • since July 2024 Interstellar Entertainment N.V.
  • FuturePlay - 8048/JAZ needs to be replaced with active GCB
  • Ice Casino - 8048/JAZ needs to be replaced with pending GCB
  • Immerion - 1668/JAZ needs to be replaced with pending GCB.
  • Lex - 1668/JAZ needs to be replaced with pending GCB, funnily the review mentions that its more likely they might go to anjouan than GCB with the sub licence expiring. Casino facts at the bottom has been updated, rest of review has not.
  • Luckydays - I've played here when I was in canada and actually signed up by mistake to the ontario version, the max notes are incorrect though as the AGCO stuff only shows up on the .ca website whilst canadians outside ontario are meant to use the ROW (.com) site. The ROW site no longer has any mentions of the old curacao licence, atleast from a canadian VPN.
  • MyEmpire - same as casombie, old information on rabidi prior to their bankruptcy and all the juggling of licences that has followed since.
  • Nalu - correctly states its licenced with the KGC. It's also licenced with the ETCB (Estonia) but since its superceded by KGC perhaps not worth mentioning.
  • Nuggetslots - footer no longer mentions the old licence and their GCB licence was granted and is active (Review says its pending and mentions housekeeping required for old info)
  • Punterz - correctly states KGC/Estonia licence. It's also licenced with GCB and for some reason anjouan as well.
  • Retrobet - the about team/history as well as casino facts section have been updated to mention the GCB stuff but the initial part of the review still mentions the 8048/JAZ stuff as current
  • RTBet - same issue as other rabidi reviews.
  • Spinaway - 365/JAZ needs to be replaced with pending GCB. Still has KGC, as mentioned in review.
  • Swiper - same story as other rabidi reviews.
  • vave - review is accurate but thought I'd add that the sister sites (techoptions), which had previously had C.I.L. licences have a pending licence with the GCB under the name LATCAS B.V. (hellspin / ivibet on certain urls). That is if they are still owned by the same people. Regular hellspin domain shows no licence info rather than some "LIMITADA" company.
  • vulkanvegas - 8048/JAZ needs to be replaced with pending GCB.
  • weiss - review is accurate regarding GCB however mentions taktonum only has one casino. Their Anjouan licence (weiss + fairspin) seems to indicate otherwise.
  • wild.io - 8048/JAZ needs to be replaced with pending GCB
  • Wildsino - unlike other rabidi reviews this one seems to carbon dated to the emo liernin PAGCOR phase they went through. Should be updated to anjouan / novaforge
  • Winspirit - 8048/JAZ needs to be replaced with pending GCB. Correct regarding no sister sites.
  • WSM - 365/JAZ needs to be replaced with active GCB. Review correctly highlights (headline and elsewhere) the anjouan licence but didn't know about the GCB licence.
  • Ybets - already posted regarding PAGCOR > Anjouan in the thread, realised I should just make a summary here rather than bumping 20 threads.
EDIT: Did 2023 aswell, might go year by year as I initially opened around 500 tabs prior to settling on just doing 2024 as my vivaldi browser crashed.
  • 24k casino - closed
  • bitstarz - 8048/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
  • BC game - probably needs updated in light of the recent developments, also 5536/JAZ > a possibly revoked GCB as well as an alternate url with anjouan.
  • cryptoleo - 1668/JAZ needs updated to pending GCB. Extremely recently (last week or so) spotted nine casino (also Uno Digital) appear on the KGC permit holders page, I've always considered Uno and Manila to be the same people so it makes sense they join Manila Marketing in kahnawake.
  • dbet - possibly closed, unsure.
  • flappy - 8048/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
  • jeetcity - 8048/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
mystake - 1668/JAZ needs updated to active GCB, although as its a rogue review the rest of the details are a bit moot as the main takeaway is RUN AWAY.
  • n1bet - 8048/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
  • playfina - 8048/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
  • pokerstars - in addition to the mentioned MGA, it no longer has isle of man but does have an estonian licence.
  • Slots.LV - review vaguely mentions curacao generically, probably a sub licence. Now has a pending GCB
  • sportsbet.io - 1668/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
  • trustdice - 1668/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
  • winz.io - 8048/JAZ needs updated to active GCB
  • cloudbet - might be moot as its a rogue review but 1668/JAZ needs updated to pending GCB

@jasonuk , I think you have succinctly and precisely identified the issue we need to address here. May I quote you in a new thread I would post in "Forum Suggestions, Announcements, & Feedback” as the beginning of a discussion with the powers that be?

For Gentoo's about us page

At Gentoo, we are proud of our rich history and legacy. You might remember us by our former name, GiG Media, the affiliate media division of GiG (Gaming Innovation Group). However, our story began way back in 2007 when a company named Rebel Penguin was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark. After being bought by GiG’s affiliate division, then named Innovation Labs, we were off on a journey as the Malta-based company GiG Media, a relationship that lasted for nearly a decade. In spring 2024, with our business stronger than ever, it was time for us to part ways with Gaming Innovation Group, and transform into Gentoo Media, enabling us to fully devote our expertise and focus on what we do best – creating meaningful relationships based on mutual value and respect for our partners and our users, the players.

Gentoo is the former GiG Media group? Did they own some casinos once upon a time?
Their affiliate arm was spun out to an independent company, Gentoo in September. GiG core is their main B2B iGaming platform business I believe which is used my many brands still. I think Casumo for example uses their iGaming Platform.

GiG did indeed own a bunch of casinos before divesting their B2C operations to Betsson in 2020. I believe they owned MT Securetrade (rizk, guts) and had also acquired betit (kaboo, thrills, superlenny) and owned , highroller and metal casino at points. Metal must have been sold at somepoint (by GiG or Betsson) to SkillOnNet and Highroller to Happy Hour.

I really enjoyed Rizk,Guts,Highroller and Metal back then. Won tons from their offers. The good old days of online gaming.

Hi again, just wanted to let you know that I’ve passed this on to the Content department and they love it. They’ve already dropped it into a spreadsheet to use for planning Review updates.

So again, many thanks for that.

After finding out the new owners were once responsible for a glut of well run, very fair and excellently promoted casinos I feel pretty confident the website can still continue on in a positive fashion for a while yet at least.
