Jack and the Beanstalk

This thread is actually about two new games from Net Entertainment, Jack and the Beanstalk and Fruit Shop. I asked Nordicbet and Fruit Shop will be released 22nd of November, while Jack and the Beanstalk will be released in December. I know that some of you are waiting for Jack and the Beanstalk, so here is a video preview. And what a nice intro it has :D.

I think Jack and the Beanstalk will be the last new NetEnt game this year, so yeah...this will be my last new game thread for a while...I promise

Fruit Shop

Fruit Shop does not look as impressive as Jack and the Beanstalk, but the game is obviously loaded with free spins. It is promoted as "the perfect game for those of you who like a lot of play time for your pennies", so I guess it may be a game with low variance. The exciting thing about this game is that the player will be rewarded with free spins every time they get a winning combination with matching fruit symbol so no need for scatters (+ multiplier and re-spins).

I see that Net Entertainment has published a video preview (today) from game called "Simsalabim". I know nothing about this game. I only stumbled into this video at their Youtube site. But wow...another new game from the hard working
NetEnt guys :D

I see that the first of these three games, Fruit Shop, has been released :D

I tried it in fun mode and yeah, it has a lot of free spins. So I guess it often will give the player long playtime. As mentioned, it will reward the player with free spins every time you get a winning combination with matching fruit symbol.

Another thing is that Net Entertainment has added a new "spacebar to spin"- feature (game settings). I think many players have missed this when playing Net Entertainment games. So maybe they should consider to add this feature to some of their "older" games as well.

Yes, you are absolutely correct

Betsafe has released the beta version. New Net Entertainment games are always released in a Beta version one week before the official launch at selected Beta partners. Those who have followed other of my NetEnt threads may remember that for example Kings of Chicago was released in Beta at Nordicbet, Robin Hood in Beta at StanJames etc. And this time it has been released in Beta at Betsafe (maybe one or two others as well). But the casino can not start to promote the new game before it officially has been released (in this case, 12th of December). I personally will wait and play it on the downloadable Nordicbet casino as I think that runs smoother, especially with these larger games.

I can also mention that former producers from

has been involved in the creation of this game.

For those who are not familiar with the Jack and the Beanstalk history, here is from Wikipedia:

Jack and the Beanstalk is a folktale said by English historian Francis Palgrave to be an oral legend that arrived in England with the Vikings. The tale is closely associated with the tale of Jack the Giant-killer. It is known under a number of versions. Benjamin Tabart's moralized version of 1807[1] is the first appearance in print, but "Felix Summerly" (Henry Cole) popularized it in The Home Treasury (1842),[2] and Joseph Jacobs rewrote it in English Fairy Tales (1890).[3] Jacobs's version is most commonly reprinted today and is believed to more closely adhere to the oral versions than Tabart's, because it lacks the moralizing of that version.[4]

Any word on simsalabim release date?

Edit# i see that betsafe got simsalabim now

I do not know the released date for Simsalabim, but as you said, it is already available at Betsafe (in Beta version) and will probably be officially released in other Net Entertainment based casinos during this week :)

By the way, today is the official release date for Jack and the Beanstalk. I will give a heads up when it has been launched.

I see that Jack and the Beanstalk has been released at Nordicbet and other Net Entertainment based casinos :D

Great game. Really liked the free spin feature with the possibility to get stacked and expanding wilds.

This game is yet another example of why Net Entertainment should be awarded with the CM`s "best games" award this year.

I have only tried it in fun mode, but what a nice 1033 X bet win (fun mode :()

Jeepers! I bet with big-pay potential like that those free-spins are darned hard to hit... :(

I'll give it a go later. I need a change after I got REALLY fed up playing Robin Hood last night; managed to get the free-spins about 3 or 4 times - but the BEST win I got was only about bet x 10 and the others were MUCH worse...

Does anyone know how wide the Golden Expanding Harp is? It only looks 1 reel wide which would make it no different at paying to the Golden Hen wild. If so, what's the point in that.

I believe the Golden Hens are stacked - so you could have only 1 or 2 appearing on a reel.
The Harp expands, which means you ALWAYS get it in all 3 positions on the reel.

I played for real earlier and though it is a very nice game with LOADS of free re-spins, and I did get the feature 3 times in under 200 spins, I wasn't very lucky with the actual free-spin feature results; My first was bet x 2.5, then bet x 10, then less than bet x 2... :eek2:
Great potential for sure, but just like, say Deck The Halls, the free-spins can be crap if you don't hit enough wilds.

When I had a look at the paytable, I'm sure it said that the Golden Hen wild lands in three spots on a reel at a time. If not, my mistake. Thanks for the reply KK.

LOOKAWAY :)

I was a bit confused by this myself, so I contacted the good people at Nordicbet for clarification. And the answer is that the 2 or 3 stacked wild can cover up to 2 or 3 squares depending on where they land. For example if the 3 stacked wild lands on the bottom of the reel, then only one square will be wild etc. As KK said, the expanding wild will always give you 3 squares of wilds.

Not impressed with Jack and the Beanstalk.

Hundreds of spins tonight at Mr Green - admittedly I got a fair bit of playtime due to the 'walking' wilds, but I didn't even get a sniff of a bonus round.

Yeah, yeah, I know, variance.

I have to say I'm bloody annoyed about this slot.
I've lost a small fortune on it looking for a decent win... but it's never come.

In an earlier post I said I though it would be high variance - but I was completely wrong - now I believe it to be mega-low variance.
You do get a lot of playtime for your money, but during that playtime it just slowly but surely drains your bank-balance.
I've had the free-spins feature at least 10 times now and the vast majority have been total pants - around 2 to 3 times my bet.

OK, I accept it is POSSIBLE to get a mega-win in the feature - but it looks like it will be as unlikely as hitting a random jackpot - and I think most players will NEVER see a decent return from this one.
I'm sticking to Frankenstein & Gonzo from now on...

First impressions:
Simsalabim: Utter cr4p!
Tried this one for the first time last night - and I agree it is manure! :(
When I finally got the bonus feature I found the MAXIMUM I could win was only about Bet x 8, and the three times I hit it I didn't get better than bet x 2!
VERY disappointing addition to the NetEnt portfolio.

Despite what I said above, I gave this another go last night too - and it was much better!
Had a couple of good free-spins features, including one which actually went over bet x 100 at last!
I won €90+ from an 80c spin.
I messed up the finial result screenshot , but I did manage to catch this one showing 2 expanding wilds just before the end of the spins:

I agree with you and Pulver, Simsalabim is a terrible game. The theme (magic and rabbits) itself is overused and it even gets worse when the gameplay is also very lame. I do not think that operators have promoted this game so much, I see that for example Nordicbet has not bothered to mark it as a "new" game. Not even Net Entertainment wrote about it on their website, like they usually will do when releasing a new game.

But Net Entertainment released so many great games last year, games they can be proud of (for example Frankenstein and Robin Hood), so I guess it is OK that one of their releases last year was terrible.

Congratulations on your winnings at Jack and the Beanstalk, it is a great game
