Watch out for THIS NetSpend dealio! Cuz the card on the package AIN'T what's on the INSIDE!!!! I lost my wallet AGAIN and it was after hours so instead of going to a check cashing place the next morning where you deal with a counter person and can SEE the temporary card that you'll be taking away before paying I took my impatient ass to Albertson's around midnight, picked the package you see down there from the peg-board display where they have all the gift cards, phone cards and such things, paid and when I got home and opened the package to activate my new NetSpend debit card I found this GREEN THING! WTF??? NO Visa logo, 20 effen digits, no CVV on the back, no issuing bank info (of course not! why should NetSpend pay for TWO licensed Visas when they can just stick you with THIS crap til the customized Visa arrives in about a WEEK?) no expiration date AND, so it says in the little piece-of-shit 40 page booklet which is their TERMS in English and in Spanish in case you'er bilingual and need to be told TWICE, will only work when the PIN can be entered! (gas pumps, grocery stores, ATMs, whatever) No casino cashier can wring a nickle from it unless maybe the manager will do a manual deal if you give him the PIN or whatever. The customized Visa Debit card is in the MAIL so, in the meantime I guess I could get my cash back at an ATM (in $20 increments), buy a GreenDot :puke: Visa MoneyPak for $4.95 then pay the QuickTender fee on top of THAT and play with whatever's LEFT! (funding QuickTender is about the only thing you can do with a piece-of-shit GreenDot Visa). OK. NetSpend rules for depositing at online casios and poker sites but for THIS, NetSpend, YOU F**KING SUCK!!!! I'm about ten KINDS of MAD and I'm printing out three blown-up copies of this Green piece-of-shit: one each or the dart board, pistol range and the toilet bowl!!!

got my first one tonight (i cant take not gambling anymore) !! I looked to make sure there was a visa in it, thanks for the heads up. I got the netspend All access visa gift card, not reloadable one. It worked fine at clubworld tonight

I hope you get your money back, that's just raw

i almost bought an 'off-brand' that I was sure i could make work, but it had to be validated at the cashier and only with a store 'club card' or a freakin Visa! I won't comment again, but it is a joke.

That's wierd AMa, you had to wait 1/2 hour? We stopped to get mine 3 minutes from my home, I RAN (lol) into the house and and activated it and was gambling within 5-10 minutes of leaving the gas station

Like I said though, maybe PA is just more lenient(sp) and things go easier

re

I dont get the reloadable kind. I hav to wait a half hour so I can register it online to be able to use the pin number.

Hey, Ill be up In PA end of March. We upped the moving date from may to march.

All Access

I also use these cards to play online. I have never had a problem with them. I live in PA also Babs but usually have to wait 20 mins or so to register the card online. The only casino group that I can't access is Trident group. :( All the others go smoothly.

Re

You register them if you have to use the security number on the back for online purchases. Just asks for your name and email.

I did have wired plastic, until a new safeway employee messed up, and tried 5 times to load the card, and it didnt show up. Somehow it showed on my card later I guess, I never even looked, and safeway went to reverse all the charges to the card, and they over reveresed one somehow leaving me with a 55 dollar owing amount on my card. Went to safeway, and they blamed wired, wired blamed safeway, etc.... I was left with the bill,. so I said forget it. Cut my wired card in half.

Thanks! It'll all be fine when my customized reloadable card arrives in a day or two - its just that every time I've bought a NetSpend Visa I got to go home with a Visa Debit Card. I never bought one self service and taken it to the supermarket check stand though I've bought many reload packs like that - but only after hours. Check cashing place reloads $2 for up to $5k vs. ReloadPacks $4.95 max $500/24hrs! Always purchased the Visa at a check cashing place - the cards they sell there on the outside of the packaging. I figured I'd get what was pictured on the package but SURPRISE!

Anyway, last night I went to Rite-Aid and got $99.01 cash back on a purchase of a Big Red Plenty Pak -no ATM fee - then bought a GreenDot :puke: MoneyPak to reload the GreenDot :puke: Visa then used that to fund my Quicktender ($4.95 for the Money Pak then 5% to fund Quicktender!) :puke:

Re

Where do you buy yours at? I always buy mine at Safeway or alberstons, and never got any surprises. If I remember rite, there is one out there for atm, but will not work online .

Except for this one time I bought mine at A.C.E. (Ace Cash Express). They're a check cashing/payday loan outfit based in Irving,TX and are nationwide. The goofy card switch-a-roo may be new. I bought this one at Albertson's. NetSpend pays licensing fees to Visa and if they can cut licenses in half for all the self-serv merchandise by not providing a temporary Visa at the point of sale the can save a mint. I'd watch out at the Grocery Stores if you plan on buying another - you're not kidding it's no good online! Read the start of this thread! You might be able to get them online (the GOOD ones!) somehow, too.

most of the all access netspend gift cards(non-reloadable) will not work anymore. there is a thread somewhere in here with the first 6 #'s on the cards that wont work anymore. that came from netspend corp. directly. the relaodable still works fine. gift cards starting with 400766 probaby will not work.

re

Mabey Im just lucky then? My last two started with 4007, andworked fine.
I did notice in Albertsons that there were also two other allaccess reloadables, one was for atm only and one was for use with a pin number.

On a bad note, they were down to the last ten non relaodables, andsaw that they were filling in the spaces with ones that cost 12.95 and you can load them three times. I wonder if the cards on thier way out.

Mine worked fine and started with 4007, but again, it could be a PA thing. This is the second time I have used a gift card with no problems. Why do you have to pay more for a reloadable anyway? I notice that there are $9.99 or $12.95 (not including the $4.95 activation) cards but the gift cards dont cost anything more . Why would I want to pay that extra $10? Is it because the casinos can add money to it? I just wanna know because it's all new to me

Thanks

If you will notice the packaging of the card I got, to be fair, there IS a little cartoon text bubble with the words, "ATM CARD INSIDE USE IT TODAY" but the headline is "The All Access Visa Prepaid Card" which led me to believe that it would be the same as the five previous All Access Prepaid Visas I had purchased. I expect my permanent card today and then it'll all be water under the bridge but I wont be buying any more Visa cards, sight unseen. I gamble enough after getting the card home without wagering on what kind of nonsense I may or may not be purchasing obtaining a card! This thread was merely meant to be a heads up based on my described experience - that if one buys a self serve NetSpend card one may expect to be unable to use the temporary card online.

babs the reason u pay more for a relaodable is it is a regular visa/mastercard. you can load up to 10k on them. i have had one for years and use it all the time for online purchases. i never use my debit or regular credit cards online. if someone should happen to get this acc# they cant wipe me out since i only load what i'm gonna spend that day. i was told, by netspend, that the 4007 66 gift cards would not work for "overseas transactions" any longer.

I use a re-loadable card because I can register it with the casino, just like a credit card. I've never tried a gift card and you've raised some points that have piqued my interest. The gift cards are free and no reload fee of $2 for counter service and $4.95 for a reload pak! Now if they have expiration dates and CVV codes then I don't know why I just don't buy gift cards! I know some casinos have a fixed limit on the number of cards you can register. There's the matter of emailing a copy of each card to the casino with their cc authorization form. I know that QuickTender limits the number of cards to two even though I didn't find that out 'til attempting to register my fourth. I'm currently waitng on a reply from QT regarding my request to unregister my lost cards.

Well, there it is, there.

Agg I wish I had a digital camera. I just noticed the pictures you loaded.

The ones I buy just have the amount of the card on top, 100 dollar ones are silver, and 25 dollar ones are green on the outside. It says one time use rite on the pak.

I never tried to buy the reloadable ones, so have no experience in how those work.

The NetSpend All Access Visa has worked without a hitch in every online transaction I've ever attempted. NetSpend had, for a short time, been an actual, listed deposit option in quite a few online casino's cashier areas and though that is no longer the case, on the DL, NetSpend is hip to the fact that they can do well to not make any waves when it comes to where their customers use the cards.

This thing that pissed me off and the reason for this thread is that when buying a packaged card, as pic'd below, it seems to have become a crap shoot when it comes to what's inside the package. After two weeks and still no permanent card in the mail, I went to my friendly A.C.E. yesterday to buy another NetSpend Visa and the manager even waived the $9.95 purchase price for the card if I agreed to load $300 (personal service not available from the checkers at Albertson's who, on occasion, I've had to explain that they would need to scan the UPC bar code on a reload pak then they would be prompted to ask me how much I would like to load on the pak). She keps the cards in a little box like what business cards are shipped in on the other side of the bullet-proof plexi-glass so there is never any doubt that I'll be able to use the card I carry home, even though the embossing says "ACE CUSTOMER" where my name would normally go. Unlike Albertson's where they only charge you and load the dollars on the card, she enters my name, social security, address, DOB, etc into the system so it is as though my name were on the card. That way when I take the card home and use it to deposit at an online casino or card room, my name, address, etc is already connected to the number of the temporary card just as I have it registered with the casino. It now dawns on me that that can't possibly be the case with the Albertson's card so, I'm assuming, all the NetSpend cards sold that way will be like the one below which is useless for "us" til the permanent card arrives.

Another thing, reload paks like at Albertson's are $4.95 and you are limited to loading $500/24hrs. If I go to an A.C.E. or similar outlet, the fee is only $2 to reload and the card can hold either $5K or $10K (I forget which-moot point for me!)

Note: The GreenDot Visa is useless for online casinos BUT it DOES work to load QuickTender and is available at RiteAid so at least I have an alternative when I've maxed out the NetSpend via re-load paks or don't want to go further than Rite Aid, which is nearest to me.

I think I've now exhausted the subject.
