Neteller Advice Sought

Slotster!

I predict a riot.
Reasonably new user to Neteller here, and just wondered if anyone had come across this before!

I recently withdrew a reasonable sized amount from a casino, and was informed that neteller would be the best way as they couldn't refund the amount back to my card. No problem, so I supplied the neteller details and received a withdrawal confirmation within 24 hours showing two amounts sent to my neteller account.

When I checked, it appeared the casino had attempted to pay the winnings in two consecutive differing installments. The much smaller amount had been paid in and was showing in my account, but the far greater amount showed in neteller as "declined".

I've contacted Neteller, and they advise they can't think of any reason why this would happen, but confirmed the payment had been sent back to the casino (giving me an NT reference number), advising me I should ask the casino to send it again.

I contacted the casino to inform them, and am now waiting for it to be dealt with by their "finance" department. I'm not at all bothered, as not a lot of time has passed and I have faith in the casino as a casinomeister recommended site - just thought it was a slightly odd situation.

Has anyone else come across this before, or can offer any advice on how I should maybe help things move along?

Many thanks in advance!

i have had it with a playtech casino(cant remeber which one) and they just seem to reprocess it again a day later

Thanks for the reply! This is a well known Microgaming Viper...

I found it a bit disconcerting that Neteller were unable to provide a specific reason considering the amounts involved, but they were very friendly and assured me it wasn't a problem as such, and just to give it another go!... Just waiting on the casino to come back to me know and advise that's what they're going to do!

If the casino has personnel that visit here, you might consider PM'ing him/her/them if you don't hear anything from support:

Virtually every poker room I have cashed out from regularly has had this happen. You get back in touch with them, they go to their merchant screen, see it didnt go through and do it again. I do not know the explanation. This has happened on every one of my Eurobet cashouts, a few Party Pokers, Absolute once, Paradise once and UB a couple of times. I guess it is the same reason that withdrawing to my debit card from Neteller gets declined 10% of the time for no reason. It is just a system bug, maybe a time out or something. These rooms all corrected it within a very reasonable amount of time.

I've had it happen at several of the Microgaming Casinos but I've ALWAYS gotten the money redeposited back into my Neteller account within 24 hours. I don't even contact the casinos anymore since I've found they automatically redeposit it if it was declined.

It happened to me once with a cashin from Casino kingdom. I checked my casino account and saw 2 entries, the first for xxx dollars being declined and the next one for the same amount being accepted. All this happened within five minutes according to the logs so I would definitely say its not the casino's fault. Probably a glitch somewhere.

Ah, thanks for the reassurance and advice everyone!

I'll leave it a couple of days and wait to hear from either Neteller or the casino! If I don't hear anything, I'll go email, PM and phone call on their asses ;) Heh hee.

Will post up what happens. Thanks again.

Oops - Declined again last night. Same amount, same problem...

I've spoken to Neteller again this morning, who, again, couldn't offer any explanation as to why it happened - and suggested I should just ask the casino to deposit in smaller amounts.

I'm almost certain this is a neteller issue now as opposed to a casino one, but it's just annoying really.

Makes me remember why I love 32RED so much.

Me: "Can I have my money please?"
32RED: "Yep, there you go.. It's straight in your bank account"
Me: "Sorted"

If only it was always that simple!!

Actually Slotster i had this last week - but it was a deposit from my bank account into NETeller - and only for 30! But it got accepted on the second try pretty soon after.

So it cant be large amounts - or casino problems :)

Funny - but since that upgrade at the beginning of December, NETeller has caused us some problems eh.

We ought to test this from NETeller user to NETeller user. Why don't you send me a payment for 10 and another for 1,000 and I'll tell you if they work ;)

Heh hee.. Will you also tell me how you get on at Thunderstruck too? :D

It is a bit of a pain all round really, but at least the casino seem responsive and helpful up to now; and fair play to them for re-submitting the withdrawal quickly after the other one... Just the "dunno why" thing from Neteller that's slightly disturbing. Imagine if your bank said that.

LOL - I can tell you the answer to that one now :)

Agreed.

The saga continues - and it's starting to irritate me a little now!

Yet another "declined" transaction this morning, and no idea why from neteller. I asked the casino to try the smaller amounts thing or to send me a cheque - and got the dreaded response....

You need to send us a copy of your driving licence, utility bill, address details blah blah blah... What a pain!

I've never had to do this before. How come they can attempt a neteller transaction three times unsuccessfully, but then want my life story to cut me a cheque or do it in smaller amounts!?! It's not the end of the world, and I can kind of understand why they need it, but it's just a bit annoying.

I'm put off neteller for life certainly, I'm reserving judgement on the casino until we see a resolution.

I'll get my stuff faxed off and update the next thrilling installment!....

It's all gone quiet...

Documents sent, and confirmed. No more attempts at neteller or info to say I'll be paid in another way.

No update from casino or neteller either... Going to give it till tomorrow then kick off.

To give a little bit of credit to neteller however - I did receive a cheque this morning for the smaller amount that went through ok... So that's a good quick service. Shame they can't resolve the rest.... :(

Hope it doesn't bounce ;) Hehhee..

Guess what?... My documents aren't clear enough...

For f***s sake....

I never fax ID. Just by photocopying a drivers licence you can see that it most likely will not come through a phone line and then out clear on the other end. Scanner is the only way to go, and if you don't have one just bring a floppy along with your documents to a business centre like Kinkos, Staples Business Depot or something similar and use their computers to scan and save to disk. Then you can send by email and there can be no excuses except that they can say they did not get the email, but I hvae never had any problems. It also comes in handy because you will always have those document files on disk for quick access should any other casinos request them.

Thanks for the info there B21J!

I've managed to sort a scan and send it across. It's not so much that aspect of it, it's the whole thing and how they only suddenly decided it was required after a few failed neteller transactions (and one successful one). I dunno, it just doesn't seem worth the hassle when other places seem to deposit your cash and pay out any subsequent winnings with the minimum of fuss.

I've faith in the casino's reputation and financial standing, so I'm not worried yet (and hence why I've not named them!), just a bit bored of running round in circles to sort it out.

Thanks again.

You can also take a picture of your driving license or credit card with a digital camera.

Well I'm approved and 'verified' now, so they know it's me - which is nice.

Still no news on when or how I'm going to get paid, just an email telling me they'll let me know as soon as they do.

It'd be in my bank by now with 32RED...

Credit where credit's due...

Cheque arrived in the post this morning from the casino - so not a terrible turnaround all things considered. Still a bit of a pain sorting stuff out, but at least I've been paid within a reasonable timescale!

I'm still intrigued to find out what the neteller thing is though. I might even make my next 32RED cashout to neteller, just to see what happens! Mind you, it'd need to be of a similar size I suppose to make a good comparison, which may take me a while... Back in a bit :D

Just be careful Slotster if you are playing in a different currency to your Neteller account. Neteller's exchange rate terms aren't very generous to say the least! :(
Could cost you a fair amount of money if it is a big cashout.

Ah! Cheers for the heads up! I'm fairly sure I'll be ok, as I play in GBP at every casino I'm a member of (with the exception of the RTG one - but I'm not playing at them anymore, as they're frankly a bit mad!) - and my neteller account is in GBP. The recent smaller amount cashout went in ok, and they just deducted a couple of quid for me to withdraw it. Never got to find out on the larger amount, but the 'declined' transaction showed as the full amount (if that makes sense!?).

I did try an MG one in dollars once, but kept getting all excited and then depressed when I remembered I had to divide it by two heh hee... Of course the stake is also divided by two when you consider what you're playing with, but gamblers never really see it like that I don't think :D

Do you mean that they charge you an extra fee for currency exchage on top of the rate paid? Or are you saying that they do not give a good rate on currency exchage? According to Neteller support they use the current market rate at the time of the transaction and they gave me the website where I can find the exact rates that they use www.x-rates.com The reason I am asking is because I recently just switched my Neteller to Canadain Dollar and have not yet done any foreign exchange with them. I plan to start playing in GBP for the reason that my winnings are more than double when changed over into Canadian. From what Neteller told me they just give the current market rates, but if they start tacking on fees then I will just have cheques sent from the casino directly.
