I was wondering as i was playing this morning about different things i have heard over the years about gambling online, im sure others have thought the same thing or maybe wondered about other myths also, maybe you have heard other myths....... but are they?

(1)Can a casino switch decks during blackjack?...... i say fact imo

(3)Are you more apt to hit features if you take a bonus?..... unsure imo

(4)On R.T.G casinos, when you see the random jackpot going up really fast, does this mean, the casino is adding money to the jackpot or are a crap load of people playing large amounts at the same time ?...... maybe fact imo

(5)Are c/s reps allowed to play on the job, while hoping to hit a jackpot to keep other players from hitting? .......rogues will do this i think imo

(6)When a casino says when you log in that they are checking for updates , does this mean your deposit is doomed?........unsure of imo

(7)Can you hit a random jackpot or any jackpot on under a min. bet , like under .20 cents or so?............i say myth imo

    (8) When a casino is stalling on a payout pending, are they hoping you will play it out?.......i say fact imo

    (9) If you hit a huge mega jackpot, will they pay you all of it upfront? ........not sure imo

    (10) If you just hit a huge paying feature, is it better to change games pronto............fact imo

(3)Are you more apt to hit features if you take a bonus?..... unsure imo

I have noticed that when i take a bonus, i hit more features. When i meet the wagering requirements, the features seem to dry up, and i end up losing my deposit, because i expect a feature to be "around the corner". Could be timing--however i have decided to stop using bonuses--too frustrating.

    (8) When a casino is stalling on a payout pending, are they hoping you will play it out?.......i say fact imo

Completely agree, the casinos are hoping that we play our winnings back while we wait.

not from my experience but you are more likely to lose it all if you take a bonus

I never thought that casino will boost RJ by adding extra funds but i think the more payers are playing and the bigger the stakes are, the faster it goes. Check Fun mode, they always run very fast...

haha, i was thinking the same. They play and hit them and keep money. I don't expect anyone to confirm it but it must be a way to crack it imo....

In my opinion this one does not really makes sense. When its says "checking for updates", it will download updates for the client version but the poor results we get come from the server.

I saw an amazing screenie here from mystic i think (spelling?), she hit 12K with 20 cents on inet. She said she was running the game 24/7 for a week... that why i think there is must a way to crack it. ;)
I can search for it later and post a link if you want top see.

true i think because most likely it will take it back but 2 casino managers ( not from here) suggested me to stick to the same game. :what:

    LOL... interesting set of questions.

In most online casinos, you are dealt cards from a full deck every single hand. So a casino has no reason to "switch" decks - the gaming servers do this automatically for every single hand.

This doesn't make sense. How can you move up or down a notch and still be around 96%? In any case, if you are playing a reputable software, the answer to this should be no - casino operators should not have access to any payout switches, certainly not on a personal basis.

Might seem that way - but logically it makes no sense. There is no good reason for a casino to offer you more features depending on whether you took a bonus or not - and as in (2), if you are playing a reputable software, operators should have no control.

Either way it would benefit the player - but I'd say this has to be because more people are playing, or some players are playing at higher stakes.

This better be a myth. No reputable casino should allow an employee to play at their casino, on the job or not.

Should be a myth on reputable software packages.

Probably fact, I seem to recall someone doing this on a small bet and winning a random jackpot. On some jackpot games, however, the answer would be no as the requirement is for max bet and should be stated as such.

Probably varies with different operators. In most cases there are reasons, such as ID, fraud detection, etc. that cause a payout to be delayed. Obviously when you play, you could win more as well, so I don't think it is necessarily an issue of them wanting you to play it out.

At a land-based casino, it is usually over 20 years. Online, with the exception of Wagerworks, the jackpot is supposed to be paid in a single installment - ie. upfront.

Funnily enough, though I am certain this is myth, it sure does seem to be fact. But I have hit consecutive large features on a number of occasions so I'd definitely lean towards myth.

On the other hand, I also often change games after a big hit!

Well, this could indeed have the desired effect, and I also do this quite often - but it's really hard to call this fact or myth.

Given that there is a house edge at every game, the correct answer should be better for the affiliate. Certainly should be over the long run. But over any short period, it is possible that the players actually beat the house edge so it's not unusual for an affiliate to have a bad month or two.

    (8) When a casino is stalling on a payout pending, are they hoping you will play it out?.......i say fact imo
This depends on the casino. Some will do it with ill-intent. Other times, as mentioned previously, there are other factors that can come to play. Not only are there fraud and security checks that need to be done, but especially if sending funds to the US, things can get tricky. Not all casinos have the same capacity to get funds quickly to the US, so when doing research (always do), make sure that if you are in the US, and are expecting quick payment, the casino you are dealing with is able to provide it.

    (9) If you hit a huge mega jackpot, will they pay you all of it upfront? ........not sure imo
That would depend on the T&Cs of each casino.

(11)You cant seem to do any good at a casino, is it better to log off, wait a few , then log back in?................fact imo
In any reputable software this should not matter.

    (12) If you sign up to play at a casino using a affiliates site, is it better for you as a player or the affiliate?...........dont know yet
That would depend on the affiliate. Some affiliates are really good people who work hard and give great advice free, with the only hope of you signing up under him/her. Then if you have an issue, they will help you out. I know a few affiliates who have contacted me with player issues. For the players that signed up under that affiliate, it was a benefit to the player, the affiliate, and even the casino (as we caught something that might have slipped between the cracks.

Then there are affiliates who spam and cause havoc. If you sign up under one of those, you are only aiding evil causes.:eek2:

This may be a derail but maybe not. Since I've never hit a RJ I don't know about them. I don't think it would matter if I played $.20 or $20 per spin.

But on that thought, Mystic won hers on Green Light (I believe). Since it is a pick feature game, does it pick the features for you or what if you put it on autoplay?

I kinda believe that if you take a bonus, you hit better features. Then when you make playthrough, it all goes to heck. This is from my experience.

Games of chance, so I've been told. :D

I think basically there are Two questions here,

Can payout percentages be changed at online Casinos without the player being informed?

Are the payout percentages changed at online Casinos without the player being informed?

I think my views are well known.

(3)Are you more apt to hit features if you take a bonus?..... unsure imo

If anyone actually believes the casino can change the payouts of games depending on factors like bonus, previous results or time of day, then it would make no sense whatsoever to play? The reels should be the same no matter what.

(5)Are c/s reps allowed to play on the job, while hoping to hit a jackpot to keep other players from hitting? .......rogues will do this i think imo

While it would certainly be dodgy, it shouldn't matter? If a c/s rep plays to hit a jackpot he will be feeding the same % as anyone else and the casino would be more likely to lose money from it, just like any player. If they want to cheat with jackpots there certainly has to be better ways than having employees playing.

(6)When a casino says when you log in that they are checking for updates , does this mean your deposit is doomed?........unsure of imo

Anything affecting payouts should be server side so updates shouldn't matter.

    (8) When a casino is stalling on a payout pending, are they hoping you will play it out?.......i say fact imo

All casinos that refuse to flush withdrawals should be rogued!

    (10) If you just hit a huge paying feature, is it better to change games pronto............fact imo

Same as (3), it shouldn't matter and anyone that thinks it does would be better off not playing on what they think is a cheating casino.

    Myth

    (2) Can a casino change your % payout up or down a notch or two, while still being around the 96% payout? this im not sure on but i have heard this from other players.......fact, but not 100% sure imo

    No ma'am - Myth

(3)Are you more apt to hit features if you take a bonus?..... unsure imo

Odds are that if you're playing on a bonus, you therefore have more money to play with so you'd hope that your cash'll last longer and have more features ;) It's true to say that there are more winners on slots that took bonuses than those that didn't - Fact

(4)On R.T.G casinos, when you see the random jackpot going up really fast, does this mean, the casino is adding money to the jackpot or are a crap load of people playing large amounts at the same time ?...... maybe fact imo

The latter - It means that more money is being put in the pot and more players, so a bigger and faster RJ - Go get 'em!

(5)Are c/s reps allowed to play on the job, while hoping to hit a jackpot to keep other players from hitting? .......rogues will do this i think imo

Haha, no - We can practice to see the games on fun play, but real money play is not allowed (not that we'd be able to cashout anyway!) - Myth

(6)When a casino says when you log in that they are checking for updates , does this mean your deposit is doomed?........unsure of imo

LOL - Tick Tick Tick, it's thinking away at how it can annoy you! No, literal updates are the case - Myth

(7)Can you hit a random jackpot or any jackpot on under a min. bet , like under .20 cents or so?............i say myth imo

    Yes ma'am - Fact

    (8) When a casino is stalling on a payout pending, are they hoping you will play it out?.......i say fact imo

You know I love to speed up those withdrawals. Faster cashouts make happier players

    (9) If you hit a huge mega jackpot, will they pay you all of it upfront? ........not sure imo

In the case of a progressive jackpot hit yes, and with the RJs, if it's a big one, of course, it's up for discussion and we can see what we can do for you

    (10) If you just hit a huge paying feature, is it better to change games pronto............fact imo

Difficult to say, you just never know.

(11)You cant seem to do any good at a casino, is it better to log off, wait a few , then log back in?................fact imo

Myth. I can't count how many players have come to chat or on the phone saying they have no luck, just to hear a big bling bling noise in the background of the slots hitting a RJ or something nice! It's when you least expect it - Myth

    (12) If you sign up to play at a casino using a affiliates site, is it better for you as a player or the affiliate?...........dont know yet

    Results could vary

    That's all from me :p

Hiya: Great thread, and the more Casino Reps that reply in any way the better.

I will add a few i have heard over the years regarding Roulette.

Q: Can the RNG have a trigger that when the "Repeat last bet" button is pushed, it knows to make a number hit that did not fall under the last bet.

A: These are my answers anyway. At lower levels of betting, NO. After all when different groups, Casinomeiser, wizard of odds, and others, go to test out new sites and such, they are making small bets to see how the RNG falls in line with the Odd's of the game. We would all know if they were cheating.

This then begs the next question

Q; Can the RNG have a trigger that acts as a counter measure if Larger Bets are made, causing it to swing the Odds higher in the favor of the Casino than normal?

A: my answer again. You would think NO. Buuuuuuuuut, i do not believe anyone goes and test RNG using $100 chips in real money? Based on my expierience over many years, and 10's of thousands of plays, the short term results say Hmmmmmmm..

I will explain. I can take money off the table making small bets all day long. This is what i do in fact. However, every once in a while the treat this as a job Winalot gets shoved out of the way by the Gambler Winalot.

"Out of the way you wussie". And a short time later the recorded results show things like, W-2 L-17 in BJ. Lose 47 spins in a row in Roulette. Go 19 in a row with no pair + in 3 card poker. and so on. I have NEVER Won a large bet based on, Luck of deciding to start off Semi Large, and end up at table max". Not even once. Even though the style of play, and betting method and bet selection are exactly the same.

As far as, "Sitting on payout request", goes several things come into play.
    1. They check to see if you used Quick Deposit or not to buy the chips. Remember, Using quick deposit is basicly a LOAN for the money, as it does not come out of your account right away.

    2. To see if you were playing with any bonus money, and if so, if the play thru requirements were met.

    3. That you are who you say you are.

    4. And YES, there is no hurry. If you took out $1000, and left $500 in to keep playing, they would kind of like to see you lose that $500, and Cancel your payout, and put the $1000 back, or at least part of it back.

They will pay you all of it up front because they have already made a very big profit from the progressive jackpot before you hit it.

ie. You hit the Progressive Jackpot A and win $5m

But other players have contributed $8m in this Progressive Jackpot.

The casino makes a profit up to $3m

I think anybody who says casino employees cant play the games is fooling themselves. Remember what Absolute Poker did with some of the management being able to see hole cards and stealing millions of $ from players? Nobody can make me believe that some of the rogue casinos dont have this "caliber" of people in charge. I am sure some of this goes on.

PS- I am also sure that legit casinos dont allow it.

I tried something today... Usually I play 10 ct - 1 euro max on a game. I play all software providers, but once started with RTG. Today I tried playing at Bodog (RTG) just to see if I could hit the random jackpot when I play with a large wager. I played 100 Pounds (in play mode you get 1000) and within 30 spins I hit the random jackpot, which off course was the first time for me!! The larger the bets, the more chances of winning the RJ. So I believe it is quite possible that someone wins the RJ several times a month, when that is someone playing with high wagers.
