*THIS HAS NOW BEEN RESOLVED*

Hi guys and gals,

Something very odd happened to me last week at Casumo (and it's a battle I'm currently fighting to get some sensible answers)...

I had been playing The Dark Knight for weeks. I hit a few good wins and even triggered the progressive a couple of times (biggest progressive win €100 minor jackpot).
What kept me playing was the Mega jackpot had started at €9,361,908 on 8th June (my first record of it - note that I play in Euros) and eventually rose to €10,096,278 on 17th June at last count. We all know it's a lottery and the chances of us specifically winning it are virtually nil but if you're not in...
I kept plugging away and dreaming of buying that Nissan GT-R I so desperately crave

Anyway, a few days ago I loaded up TDK and noticed the Mega Moolah had dropped to €5,153,295 - I found this very odd because I know the jackpot will reset to €1m upon being won. So I had a live chat with Anton (Casumo Ambassador) and that's when things got VERY strange...

He informed me that the mega jackpot at no time was displaying over €10m because it had been won in April and had only risen to €5.1m which is the figure I was seeing at the time. I told him that, thankfully, I have a habit of taking screenshots of my gaming and can show him the jackpot rising "on my end" to the aforementioned value of almost €10.1 million. Anton was clearly confused and took a while to respond with a simple "Umm..." so I asked him if I could send in said screen shots for them to look at. He agreed.

After this, things have started to get pretty stupid and almost offensive. Jonathon sent the screen shots off to the jackpot supplier and after a day or two they responded with (and I quote):

I have investigated and found that even though the mega jackpot was not won, there has been winnings of mini and minor jackpots which would also affect the mega jackpot hence the jackpot value going down to 5153295

Is it just me who thinks this is nonsense? I replied to Seamus (I've been speaking to a few ambassadors) that it's definitely not right. The winning of one jackpot does not in any way affect the outcome or the amount of another jackpot, seeing as they are all separate entities.
Anyway, Jonathon replied to that email that he personally agrees with me and so sent another email off to MGS/Quickfire to see what they say about it.

Seamus replied to me today, and again I quote:

I have now discussed this with the game provider, and all the jackpots are indeed in the same pool. Now there has been an unusually big amount of smaller jackpots won which has caused the sudden drop in the Major jackpot.

Is this honestly true?
I have never once before seen the mega jackpot drop in value regardless of how many other smaller jackpots are won, and certainly not by FIVE MILLION in a single day. I feel like I'm going mad. I sat and watched the mega moolah climb from €9.3m to nearly €10.1m over the course of a couple of weeks, which suddenly reset to €5m. I was told by Anton that that was the correct value and €10.1m never existed. Then I'm being told by MGS/Quickfire that it was that high but the other jackpots were deducted from it.

What is going on? Why would I be seeing that amount if it didn't exist? Why would it be reduced in value if it did exist? Have any of you guys noticed the Mega Moolah jackpot being cut in half on or around 17th June?

I'll add the screen shots soon. Gotta upload them to Photobucket.

NB - this is NOT a complaint about Casumo, who I am having a great time with otherwise. They have been more than courteous and very professional.

The smaller jackpots have no influence on the big one.

However, if it shows you the jackpot is 10 million it will show that same amount in every single currency, but obviously not all currencies have an equal value.

In other words, when you win the jackpot when it is showing 10 million, you will get exactly 10 million, regardless if you are playing in Pound, Euro or Rubles or whatever, so when the big jackpot goes off in a low value currency it will reset to a value above 1 mil to account for the difference.

Here are the screen shots. Note that I play on a 2560 x 1440p monitor, so the date might be hard to read for some but it is date/time stamped:

I was playing on 17th June early, just after midnight and the jackpot was over €10m:

That makes no sense and leaves the jackpot open to rigging, if someone wins it in euros at 10 million, thats 7.5 million pound, so in a sense they can save paying 3.5 million pound to a pound sterling player and vice versa be worse off if a pound sterling player wins it(instead of euro player).

It's worth noting that the default currency used in the Mega Moolah's progressive jackpot network is Pound Sterling - British Pounds (GBP). This means that when the progressive jackpot is won in another currency than GBP the jackpot does not reset to 1 million, as is stated in the game's Payout table.

Many players do not know this but the progressive jackpot will reset to 1 million only when it is won in GBP, which means a player has to be playing in British Pounds. Last week the 10 million jackpot was won in New Zealand dollars and this is why the jackpot reset to around £5 million - read more about the winner below.

WHY didn't they just tell me this instead of confusing me?

Case closed. Bloody CS

I think it's more worrying that they basically lied to you.

If they had indeed contacted MGS, I'm sure they'd have been told that the jackpot had been won.
Rather than that bollocks about an unusually high number of minor jackpots being won

I'm actually really embarrassed and I'll be telling Casumo that as well. You're absolutely right; MGS would've told them straight away what had happened.
Casumo ambassadors have lied to me, confused matters unnecessarily, and to be honest - left me feeling like an idiot here :(

It was won at Casino Land. A new UKGC Licensed casino that might get a visit from me soon. It looks good. And maybe lightning will strike twice

$10 million NZ dollars...

EDIT: MT secure trade, so I know it'll be trustworthy. Because it's a Guts white label. And so no go for me...

The drop to EUR5.1Mio is because the MG jackpots have GBP as base currency.

Each jackpot, from Mini to Mega, have their own pool and are paid from that.

In this case it was won in NZD and the player will get/got NZD10.1Mio which correlates to roughly GBP5Mio. That is why the jackpot still stands at over 5Mio.

Remember when the UK player won the jackpot last year IIRC, which was the highest ever online jackpot, it dropped to 1Mio as he was playing in GBP.

The stories Casumo CS told you shows that they have no clue whatsoever how the MG jackpots work.
