Not good mate. Certainly no need to apologise, I do think part of the problem is the media in this who rarely focus on non deaths. It's all well and good saying it only effects 80 year olds but it doesn't. The chance of death is much higher with them, but you rarely see the damage it can do to younger people. Think I've said before, my fit and healthy friends were knocked for 6, couldn't barely move for days, and still now, 4 months later struggle. I actually asked her Friday, she said her bf is pretty much back to normal now, apart from his taste and smell, which are there, but things still taste and smell either weaker or different. She on the other hand still can't do anything energetic without getting badly out of breath. If she goes in the shower, gets out, gets dried and dries her hair, she has to sit for 30 minutes as she struggles to breathe. She said she cleaned the kitchen windows inside and out and had to lie down for an hour, usually she does all the windows in one go and then more cleaning like hoovering and stuff no bother.
I do worry about long term effects of it, especially on younger people who have had no symptoms, I have a feeling it's weakening people, while they are young and fit they don't notice but it might show the damage when they get older
Fingers crossed for your mate, hope he recovers pretty quickly mate, and big toes crossed that you get through it with no symptoms if by chance you do test positive
I think it's just SSP you can get but believe you can apply for a £500 one off payment if you are on a low income (which doesn't seem to be specified) or on UC. That is if test and trace have told you to self isolate
I'm not massively up to date on it though mate so not 100%
