My Neteller hacked... be vigillant

Any thoughts on why or how they are trying log in after all these years?

Because you might have money in it, they don't know.

They might not even know if it is a valid skrill address. They could have got the email (and a password for something) from any gambling related site, forum or anything and could just be trying it in skrill to see.

Just reading this now Conker. It could have been much much worse. Since about 18 months ago, I have not used Neteller and have no cards or accounts linked to my now 'defunct' Neteller Account. I also have removed my cards from Paypal.

Since day one of becoming an affiliate webmaster way back in 2004, I have always been worried about the security of ewallets. Funnily enough though I did have my bank card cloned after a trip to Gibraltar.

A total of £75 was used by way of small deposits at Gibraltar based casinos, the likes of which I never play at....

Bank refunded the money when realised I never deposit that small when playing online :D

Its the old thing of better the devil you know. I have a few programs that can only pay me with Neteller, so I either don't accept their payments or use Neteller/Skrill to accept. Everytime I mention that I had this hack on my Neteller account people have very similar stories with other ewallets - especially Skrill. I think it is just too easy for hackers to download a list of account details from some dark web forum and just spend all day guessing passwords or secret questions. No one is chasing them up, arresting them or making their life hard work.

Yep, problematic to say the least. I have let those programs which don't do bank wires slip down the side over time, by not promoting them anymore. That said I have one program that owes me a chunk still and can either only pay to player account or via a US cheque. Nightmare!

I don't know how this incident happen since most of the casino actually uses neteller for their player. Have you try to contact them? Thats weird and creepy at the same time.
