I post this here so it can receive as much attention as possible because its important that won't fall for the same mistake as I did.

I headed to Czech Republic a month ago. When I visit an other country it is my custom to always check out their casinos. I visited 2 casinos while I was there.
First I went to the "Happy day" casino which is on the main shopping street in the centre of Prague called "Vaclavske namesti".
I walked in unaware of what was coming. I laid some cash on the table and it didn't took me long to realize that am the only person in there and after a while I understood why am alone.
The dealers are pathetic, plain ridiculous, dirty pigs:mad:. Servive was non existant! No waitresses whatsoever. The bar didn't even have still water to give me:mad:.
If it wasn't for the nice blonde czech dealer who did *try* to smile sometimes I would have told them to eff off and take my money elsewhere.
Even the cards in the shoe were so overused they looked like they have been taken off their flatty bums.
Anyway....I broke even there so no hard feelings as to my money.

When I left the place to my suprise I saw outside some screens which were broadcasting whatever happens at the tables:eek2: .
Now prague is not a very friendly place with many dodgy "people" on the streets at night. It was night at the time and I didn't appreciate being shown off to every single mugger on the street.
I took pictures and decided to boycoot them. Never visit them:mad: . If you do grab the blonde chick and run!!!!

The second casino I visited is called VIP casino in Ambassadors hotel and it is a hell of a lot better. I didn't like that the dealers don't speak english at all but can only say the very, very basics. Service was good and the inspectors(most of them) good enough. Again I didn't like that at 3am they had nothing to give me for a snack:mad: which is ridiculous for me. They had a restaurant but it was closed. Anyway overall i liked the place and next time am visiting Prague i'll go there again.

BJ rules: double down on any 2 cards, split up to 4 times, dealer stands on soft 17, you cannot resplit aces, surrender is allowed but not always (I never understood when is allowed and when not)

I would recomend people visiting Prague to play at Banco Casino if you are going to play.
I only played Poker and a litle blackjack there (I think the Pokeroom have now moved elsewere) tho. The service was good to my standards, lots of free drinks, food service, very nice ladies and good security (no videos on the street etc.) Generally a good gambling experience, atleast when I was there.

Same here. I visited a rubbish casino in Portugal Faro called Villamoura or something like that. Had to paid couple of euros to get in. Tell me we went to the same casino?:eek2:

Why waste you time on casinos in Prague when you could be drinking beer instead?

I don't like beer at all.

Thanks for the info!
I will be staying in Praha for 1 or 2 nights in January - not that the missus will be likely to let me go into ANY casinos
She is actually Czech herself & we go there twice a year - but to the other end of the country, so I have only been to Prague (briefly) 3 times.

We might be going more often now, maybe even permanently one day as we bought a house over there this year as an investment! ;)
Still getting it all fitted out, but could be soon offering it as a holiday home (very close to some good skiing areas!) - CM members will get a good discount, of course! :D

Then why go to Prague in the first place?

Hey must have been.
I'm pretty sure it was in that area but i'm going back maybe 15 Years and they charged around 5 to get in as I remember.
My memory is that you went up steps and then there were these big double doors with a couple of goons either side. The cashier was a little window at the back I think but my biggest memory of it is that it was absolute dump.
Oh yeah they had french roulette too.
