Ok, is this annoying or what?

You visit a casino website. First thing you see is this CHAT WINDOW popping up out of the blue as soon as the page loads - Not clicking on *anything* - telling you about their bonuses. I played along for a bit, and this is the log.

I for one, HATE it when *anyone* tries to get me to do something on "the spur of the moment". It's like an infomercial, but for gambling. They try to get you all hyped up so you won't rationally think, and find out all the details of an offer before you buy. Can we say "Impulse buying"?

I would expect this tactic out of a rogue casino, NOT mummy's gold.

This issue was addressed in a previous thread. The only difference is it was PLAYTECH casinos using this tactic, and AFTER you have already signed up and logged into the casino for the first time. They would start chatting you up within the casino software.

I've alerted their rep here to this thread. Hopefully they'll comment soon.

Also, their advertising of this promotion is very misleading. They state on the main page: "We will give you 500 and 60 minutes to make as much money as you can.".

But at the END of the T&C (#16 out of #20) for this promotion it states:

The maximum amount that can be won and transferred into your real account for this promotion is 100. Any amount over that will be null and void.

I'm honestly surprised you haven't previously had any complaints. To me, it's an unsolicited chat request, and I consider it a form of spam.

It's no different than going to a car lot or other retail store, and having sales people run over each other to get to you. :)

Make that two then, First off, it perpetuates the misleading impression that ALL winnings can be kept after the free hour. This was cause for complaint earlier, and when this pop-up method was implemented, the limit should have been made CLEAR. What I don't understand is the 100 bit, it was 200 earlier, and you got a hell of alot of stick for that.
Rest assured there will be more complaints from players who said "YES" to the offer and just played and won - then found out about the limits and the need to deposit 50.
They would believe a chat agent deliberately mislead them by not answering the questions properly. This is probably due to it being a "bot", but with a live person able to overlook & intervene if necessary (and they notice!).
The competition may well be doing this too, but they are of a lower standard than Palace Group, and will do what it takes, and b****r the morals!

I notice that they have progressive levels of loyalty points. i guess that's okay for an online casino? I would go across the street if it were on land. It's a disturbing trend, to me. First Missouri, then atlantic city, now vegas and Reno? Of course VIP levels are okay (thanks for your generousity) but the tiers just rub me the wrong way. Sure, I'll play a free spin or bonus machine and chase the gold, but I feel uncomfortable tossing real money after bonus bucks. Just me, I guess.
Btw, I enjoyed playing at MummysGold, the CS was excellent.

Jenny is a name I have had at live chat there before and she checked my account for multiple queries I had so I do believe she is a real person. I think its just that they have set this promo stuff up to run automatically and she is there in the background annoying yes I must agree

No, she isnt real. I just spoke to them. She is a bot...but it says that a live agent wants to talk to you when you try to leave. The REAL live agents didn't even know about her. That's mis-leading.....and they said NO Jenny even works there LOL:confused: :confused:

"Jenny" needs the sack.

The most worrying aspect here is that the bot is programmed to tell an outright lie if asked directly if it is a bot.
The programming is rudimentary, it failed to pick up o the most basic questions a player would ask a chat agent, yet was smart enough to answer a couple of minor questions and tell a cyberlie.
This would fall foul of advertising laws in this country as it was giving deceptive information, and would not reveal, when asked, the VERY IMPORTANT FACT that a mere 100 of this "free 500" would even make it as far as having to be wagered 30x on slots - and even that would be a long shot.
It might work at an online retailer, but casino terms and conditions are now far too complicated to entrust to any kind of mass market sales bot. Having been found out so easily, this bot now makes Mummy's Gold look silly, or - to use the technical term, "like a Playtech casino".

Another thing, sometimes this bot agent is so persistent it crashes the browser, as it prevents access to the rest of the site by popping up on top every time you try to navigate to another page on the site, and refusing to stay clicked shut - it usually blocks access to the "download & play now" button:D
