Mr Green fined £3million

Ongoing monitoring of players is quite much expected from casinos, unfortunately it cause some issues where demands of documents are not really in line with risk player seem to cause but it's hard to try explain some years later that we thought there is no chance this player could possibly be any risk.

"Consumers in Britain have the right to know that there are checks and balances in place which will help keep them safe and ensure gambling is crime-free – and we will continue to crack down on operators who fail in this area."

With those kind of fines you can see why operators are making sure due dilligance is done on each and every potential UKGC checkpoint i.e. 2000 EUR threshold etc.

But yes the system needs adjustment for such a unique market as online gambling. The systems in place are designed around banking. Lots of similarities but I just think the industry needs something a little different.

thread wars!

I doubt organised crime would waste much time with slots unless they could rig the outcomes.

"They also took ten-year-old evidence of a £176,000 claims payout as satisfactory proof of funds for a customer who deposited more than £1m, and accepted a photograph of a laptop screen showing currency in dollars on an alleged crypto trading account as adequate source of cash. "

so when fines are meted out it's not over someone wishing to withdraw 1k from casumo, it's cases that shout for some sort of common sense checking.
