    Hiya Peeps,

ok this is a little story I thought I'd tell you all.

Last week I got one of my friends into online gambling (good or bad I dunno) as he goes to the loacal casino a lot and never wins.
Anyway, I refer him to here first telling him only choose accredited casino's and the usual in starting him out.

He then asks me where I have won the most money, so I tell him, and he decides to open an account there.
2 days later I get a phone call with him screaming down the phone saying, OH MY GOD, i just won.
I asked him how much he won, He screamed back $15,000 from a $50 dollar deposit on a slot machine in one set of 15 free spins.
He was betting one line at $30 bucks each spin hit the feature and got 4 of a kind twice in a row.
Well my moutrh dropped... this man is the most luckiest person in gambling history, he tells me he has won over 50k in slots wins in the past 10 years.. betting one line but big bets.....

Well that's the story anyways ladies and gents, I wanted to tell you all.

p.s-i'm waiting for a bottle of Johnny Walker blue for my sound advice.

I guess he's lucky. A $50 deposit can only buy him one $30 spin. That must have been one hell of a spin.

The image of him screaming in your ear over the phone was funny.

    First,
This is not a blanket statement Im saying for "all" asians, but as you may have heard me before, The Trop is catered for the asian community. For some reason they love the Trop, we even have 2 asian channels in the room out of less than 15 channels

Anyway, I find that EVERYTIME I sit next to an asian when I play, they often do the same thing. They will play a anywhere from a 9-21 line game but only playing the First line, that's it, One line but at the max bet. I asked one of them why and he said because most of the time it's the line that comes up the most, so he would rather win big on one line and forego the other line wins

I gotta say, he was doing very well and outlasted me for a long time.
Alot of people do that here. Ive tried it a few times and it has worked out very nice for me too

All that does (or should do) is increase the variance of a multiline slot. For a 9 line game, there should be 9 times less wins, but each one 9 times as big. If this strategy does indeed lead to a better outcome long term, then the simplest explanation is that there is something odd going on with the slot software, and that perhaps "asians" have figured out what it is.

Here in the UK, especially London, the top Fruit Machine players tend to be Asian, from places like China, Japan, Taiwan. These are all countries that embrace new technology, and/or have rapidly developing economies. This is an environment that should breed people who feel at home with technology, and would have an understanding of how it works that perhaps the rest of us don't. As well as this, they have contacts and strong links within their own communities, and this leads to information, such as fruit machine methods, or slot machine methods, remaining in limited circulation.

If this was at a Microgaming casino, it might be worth trying this with Zoozie's simulator to see if there is something about the reel structures that lead to certain winlines being better than others. It could also be tried on Autoplay over a long series of spins, some at 9 lines, some at 5, and some at only the one, to see if there is a difference.
I have played Thunderstruck at all 9 lines, and sometimes I am ahead over several tens of thousands of spins (all at low stake). It might just be coincidence, and the one line wins, being that much bigger, are more memorable and so seem more frequent.

Take Thunderstruck, the common big hit in free spins is wild hammers (or shafts). This pays 1500x line bet, but is tripled in free spins. If you bet 1 per line over 9 lines, then hitting this at 9 per spin gives 1500, or 4500 if hit in free spins. If, however, the 9 was on one line, then this will happen 9 times less often, but when it does it is 9 x 1500 x 3 which is a much more memorable 40,500. This makes the aforementioned $15,000 on one line at $30 a spin look rather lame.

If you could pile $30 on line one of Thunderstruck (which you can't), and hit wild hammers in free spins, you would get $135,000
If you hit the Jackpot, which is 10,000x line bet, this would be (in free spins) a huge $900,000. I have seen cases where wins over $100,000 have been recorded on these MG slots, and these probably are due to a big hit like this in the free spins at close to, or on, the max possible bet.

I 'am sorry, yes he did deposit only $50, however he won a little bit getting his balance up to $200, he then started the $30 spins, then bammm...

Funny you would say that Babs, he actually got his idea betting online from his Asian friends..

It's more down to the casino. Thunderstruck is normally limited to $45 per spin, but I have seen it as low as $11.25, and as high as $90.
Lasseters allow a $400 bet on their new 9 line slots, which is well over $30 per line.
The record though, goes to Grand Prive, I was able to select a coin of 25 on 50-line Jacks or Better, which comes in at 6250 per deal:what:

Given that they once offered me 25% up to 25,000, it seems they cater for the biggest whales found online, as well as us lesser mid-rollers. I wondered how on earth you could actually deposit 100,000 in one go! I could fit that much in Neteller, but single transactions seem limited to around 2500 to 8000 depending on the casino concerned. (The 8000 was a WITHDRAWAL, I didn't find this out by making such a deposit:D )
Some casinos also offer VIPs 4000 a hand blackjack, and with doubles and splits this could even top that 6250.

I suspect, though, that such high limit players would prefer the atmosphere (and freebies) of a big Vegas or Atlantic City casino, unless they were billionaire recluses, or high fliers with more money than brains.

    WTG Sameold!!! Enjoy the bottle:cool:

Yippers all the way with what Vinyl said.

I'd reiterate that as some of us prefer the higher variance slots, we can kick that up a notch by max betting one or more lines now and then, at about the same total wager as 25-40 lines. A spin is a spin, and if this is done conservatively, it can pay out very well sometimes and cost no more than the other spins to do.

The higher the variance; the more important it is to quit while ahead or at least change to low rolling a low variance game to burn some gambling hours (or wr)

Well, damn. It seems like you had mixed reports for your friend... luckiest bastard ever, losing too much so went online and won.... maybe it's time for your friend to take a break from gamblng altogether if he doesn't even think to kick down a bottle of jack to ya. Yippers, sounds like someone who might want to take a look at quitting gambling altogether.
