Hi,

I have £20 trapped in my William Hill account. I deposited back when they accepted Australians but since they don't accept Australians now I can't really access it.
I've had lengthy discussions with William Hill about this and there is only one option that is available to me and that's to be paid via bank transfer which is likely to eat up the whole £20 in bank fees.

Anyone got any advice for me? I'm thinking of just letting it go.

Thanks in advance

Maybe you could get them to donate it to some worthwhile charity in your name.
I would be happy to do that if there are no other good options but I don't know if William Hill would allow it.
I suppose I can wait awhile and if there are no other good choices I can ask WH. One of Prince William's charities would be fitting. :)

To me it seems like they should have made the effort to deal with outstanding balances BEFORE locking people out of their accounts! Did they contact you before?

If it sits there long enough it will just get absorbed back, most places have a 'dormant account' policy. Luckily it's not very much, but still....it would be nice if they let you choose what to do with it.

Yes, that's right. I can't wager there full stop any more.

Oh Ok, I still wouldn't give up too easily or just yet, after all money is money even if it is small amount.

Can they not send a cheque (take yonks but least It would get to you)

Think of your successful days gambling, What have you 'turned' 20 into in the past, my personal all time best is 2.65K so you never know....

Good luck!

Did they contact you before?

The short answer to the question is no.
The long answer will take a whole page to explain as it's a complicated 4 year old case that has a lot of work put into it.
I can post it if you want? :)

Become a courier get one of us to have a parcel sent from Auz travel for free and meet up with Will Hill get the stuff in a briefcase ensure the loot is inside and go home again :)

Just an update on this problem.

I tried the charity option; I even tried to keep it British by opting to donate to one of the Royal Family's charities but WH said no.

It's a bit poor really, isn't it? It's only £20. Have they given a reason as to why they won't give it to charity at your request? You are the account holder after all and it is your money after all.

Sounds like a case of having you over a barrel. Not very good really...
