Microgaming freeroll tournaments

Yesterday I stumbled upon what I think was a one-off freeroll tournament at CasinoUK on Gold Factory with a €1,000 prize pool. The top prize was I think €350, with the top 50 places winning a prize. I was 5th at one point but ended up finishing 10th from just my free entry, winning €30 (side note: I would have liked to cash it out but ended up losing it all trying to make it up to the £50 required to cashout.. grr !)

Anyway I wondered, does anybody have any recommendations for some more good tournaments anywhere at the moment, in particular Microgaming but I'm open to trying anything really? In the last few days MGS have changed the daily $50 freerolls to prizes of 10x$5 instead of 5x$10, which I really don't like - a "prize" of around 3 quid in a casino with £1 minimum bets on blackjack and roulette is a bit rubbish as a "prize", though ok, it is free - but I'd be really interested to hear of any as good as the one yesterday at CasinoUK or even just recommendations for tournaments with reasonable entry price, fair ratio of coins/time, and sensible continue count/cost ?

Tournaments are really a great way to stretch your bankroll IF all the parameters are set correctly, but unfortunately that seems to be a rare thing at the moment...

You did well there! In 4 years of MG I've only ever got 1 4th. prize in a free tourney, that was at 32red where I got $10 in a tourney that paid as you stated 5 x $10 wins. It was on Loaded I think. I didn't realize it was cash and I lost it in 2 mins at 30p stakes on another slot. I must admit getting 30 quid cash and not being able to w/d is a bit of a p!sser, but why didn't you simply deposit 25, play a few 20p spins until down to 20, then added to your 30 withdraw £50??

Ah, because I haven't ever managed a withdrawal at CasinoUK as yet and wasn't sure if I would have enough ID etc ... I really need to renew my passport, now it's run out it's making it tougher and tougher choosing where to play ... :( I figured it would be sweet if I could withdraw that, and then I'd know I would have no problems if I did choose to deposit again but never got above £40 ..

I've actually had a bit of an amazing run with tournaments in the last few days, lots of £3-£10 wins - at Vegas Palms, Go Wild, Fortune Lounge, Casino Action & Lucky Nugget ... but yeah I do really hate minimum withdrawals of £50 !!

When i played at GoWild and was really "close" with support, i talked a lot about the tourney set up with them, and eventually they launched a "skill" tourney (not taking full credit here but im sure i contributed:)) which was at first a freeroll, with no rebuys, and later became a 2.50 buy in with only 3 rebuys, no continues.

I really liked that one, but i am sure i have seen more set up's like that.

My current favourite MG tourney would be the daily freeroll from 32Red: rebuys/continues are rarely used if at all, and if you get a good bonus round with your free entry you stand a good chance to win 75 dollar or 60-ish euro for first, and the top 10 spots are paid, if you don't know about that one yet your missing out:)

And if your willing to move further then MG i'd suggest playing tourneys at 3Dice, they have free vip ones every hour where you can win a tenner for first, and then they have the buy-in tourneys varying from 1 to 5 (tourney-)dollar entries with max 10 rebuys/continues (it works a little different there) and a small competitor field.

If i am honest i must say i still don't get why so few people are playing the buy-ins at 3Dice, since some have a guaranteed prizepool, and lately some are progressive too, and they are definitely +EV.

Hope that helps.

I have won half a dozen or so MG tournies but mostly the top prize was $15:mad: I also won tournies at RF and La Vida but purchased some add-ons. First prizes were around $100 I recall. Also won $800 for coming 4th at Lucky Nugget. I needed to buy an add-on of $100 but I was ranked 5th and would at least have gotten $300. I dropped my play when I got free spins at Avalon as I mustn't get 1st prize which wasn't cash but a cruise to the Med or something. I could easily have gotten third for $1000 but decided against it as the top 2 prizes were these cruises and could not be compensated with cash. All in all quite satisfying though haven't played for ages.

Thought it worth bringing this thread back up to mention the belle rock group of casinos free rolls - at river belle, lucky nugget, jackpot city, king Neptune's and gaming club there are 12 x 2Hr tournaments every day each with a 100$ prize pool

Every two hours a new game starts Inc immortal romance, thunderstruck 2, loaded, avalon, hitman etc and top prize is 50$. You all need a big hit early on to win off a free entry as you only get 2 minutes free but the finishing scores are almost always very reasonable, doesn't seem anybody is trying to buy the prizes often!

Thanks for the tip re 3dice, their approach is very interesting! I am currently 1st and on track for the 25$ prize in the new depositors tourney :)

Im going to go out on a limb here and say there are some very stupid people out there. I was playing the $100 free roll and won 4th place for $8. Rebought twice to keep my position ($4 profit) but there was one guy who rebought minimum 20 times............and placed in second ($25) $15 loss if not more.
