Max Damage and the Alien Attack

Thanks for that Mark.

Is there any reason that MG aren't being more open with the RTP of this game, and can you explain the 'between' element of the stated RTP? Is this a suggestion that there is a skill element to the game, or are MG just being a bit vague?

Hi Chopley,

As I understand it, MG don't make RTP available to us. The 'rough' figure above was just taken from a newsletter promoting the game.

Cheers
Mark

Well, IMO the basic idea behind this was the player to forget:

Forget he is playing a slot.
Forget he is betting money.
Forget how much he is spending.
Forget to leave if he ever wins.
Well the first one is a very easy - because it's NOT a slot.

For the rest - you are spot on.
It's just like an 80's video game: You put your money in, shoot up loads of stuff and have NO chance of getting your money back, let alone winning anything.
At least, that's my experience having played it right through to level 9 - on NO level did I end up with more $ than I started with.
If I had to compare this to slots - it would be the lowest variance one ever invented = just a money vacuum :(

I wanted it to be a short message but I should have used quotes!

What I meant with the word "slot" was:

A game where with every click you spend money to buy a chance to win some back. At that game the casino always has the edge and the if and when and how much you win are in no way connected to any of your skills (or the stars, the weather, the t-shirt you are wearing ...etc.).

:):):)

I think it's better than a slot, i would call it a brainwash... It made me believe that i will get all the money back that got sucked out when i defeat the last boss... Of course, in my dreams :)

But these tricks will always work on me because i want to try everything :)

silly Q but if you've never gotten your money back and it goes down, wouldn't it then be incredibly HIGH variance and you haven't yet hit?
Yeah, I guess you could say that.
Like I said, I've only played it through once and because of the speed of play, it was hard to actually see what return I was getting for each ship. My perception was that it was mostly either $0, 0.5x my bet or 1 x my bet and very occasionally 5 or 6 x my bet.
The biggest win I actually saw was 30 x my bet - but I still finished that level WAY down on my starting point.

I'm sure some players will love it - and good luck to them - for me it still remains boring, pointless and very expensive! :(
I'm sticking to proper slots!

Good description!

Definately not my cup of tea too.

Back to the black&white bears, vampires and Santa's on motorcycles.:D

What happened to this 32red promo was there any winners?

Also is it possible to get a look at the scoreboard without completing a whole game?
just curious to see if anybody has hit any of the huge wins yet, £1100 from a 10p shot is supposedly possible according to the pay table (11000x bet:eek:)

Enjoyed the game, but needs instructions.

Hi I played this game for the first time last night on 32Red. I played as low as 1p a bet, which suited me cause I don't have a lot of money, and tend to only gamble when I have enough spare cash to do so. Kind of a choice between going down the pub or playing in an online casino. 32Red is one of the few places that lets you deposit a tenner which is great, so for me the 1p denomination was a big plus. I enjoyed playing the game and it was refreshing to play something a bit different. I stopped playing however after level 3 because it said I had won a certain amount of coins yet although my balance had increased it didn't reflect the amount displayed on the level completion screen. I kept trying to find a button to collect, but there was only the continue button. I thought at the time the way it worked was you finished a level and could either collect your winnings or gamble them by continueing to the next level. I got confused and didn't know what the Hell was going on and got worried the game might be broken. So I exited the game on the completion screen and googled for information on how to play. Clear information on how the betting system worked on the game was hard to find, I eventually found this thread and learnt how it worked from reading this.

Which is my only complaint about the game, a player shouldn't have to google for information on how to play it. I was too nervous to check the paytable while playing because was worried my ship would blow up and I would lose money, (not understanding how it worked.) So I think it would be a lot better if a tutorial screen loaded up the first time it played, which explained everything, so by the time the player plays the game, he/she fully understands what is going on. If that isn't possible at least some information on the casinos website explaining the way the game works fully.

Other than that I enjoyed playing it, and will play it again, I also look forward to any new games of this sort that come out. I am probably in the minority here, but I don't really enjoy playing slots all that much, and find they get a bit boring after a bit, because there isn't much player interaction with them, so this game appealed to me more and I preferred it to the slots. That's my opinion anyway :)

Went to play the game again today. Didn't enjoy so much this time. Was the most expensive game of space invaders I've ever played.

I did notice this time that there is a screen that loads at the start with instructions on how to play. I think I must have just skipped that last time I played & forgot about it which shows you should always read the instructions.

This game has fun mode written all over the thing. I'm a real gamer, love video games... Not to big on this, even though they have marketed it as an arcade game, it's really not, arcade games generally require skill that then rewards you, don't see anything rewarding about this game. The win box looks very nice until you get to the end of the level only to find you havent actually won anything. This game may be fun but I prefer normal slots at least then I know whats going on lol! Plus games like Immortal Romance have better graphics, Max Damage looks very old school. This game reminds me very much of the casino scene on the James Bond movie Never Say Never Again, where there is a win for every space ship destroyed.

I will say that this is one category where I look forward to seeing more games. How about an old school Super Mario type game where you win something for every enemy you kill? Make Super Mario a slot and I'll happily hand all my money over lol! I've always thought casinos should have arcade style games, with the house edge and even if the wins aren't huge, casinos can still make money and players will have a whole other category of games open to them... There could be a Snooker game as well.

Just funny note, since relise of this game( i played it only one day, in day when it release), i am still on top-2 scores :p

Yeah I'd be up for a snooker game, not sure how it work as a casino arcade game. Maybe you would place a bet like 10p, win 1p for every red you pot & different higher amounts for the colours. If you miss a shot or foul you have to place another 10p bet, that would cause there to be a house edge maybe... and still reward you for skill.

there are a few multiplayer pool/snooker sites out there where you play for money I joined one once but it was to easy to be hustled, experienced players would pretend to be beginners & you would play someone you thought was on the same level but wasn't so I stopped playing for money, just play multi player pool/snooker for fun now on my phone occasionally.

I don't know how a game like supermario would work arcade style. 10p for a life & you get a mystery random amount for completing a level. Factoring in house edge is the tricky part...

I was checking out a new MGS casinos terms the other day, and noticed that Max Carnage and the Bankroll Attack is listed specially as a 0% contribution game.

Interesting, yeah?

Odd, perhaps the casino doesn't realise how easy it is to lose a lot of money playing it. If I owned a casino I would be encouraging people to play it with promotions, I actually found the payout to be a bit less than a conventional slot when I played it. I liked playing it, but didn't like how it doesn't reward you for skill, in fact the better you get playing it the more money you seem to lose till you get to the stage of not wanting to shoot the ships anymore. What might make it better is if there where some hard to hit ships which flyed by occasionally & awarded you a definite bonus for hitting them, equivalent of a wild maybe. For me personally I won't play it anymore, too dangerous, & I lost too much & wasn't impressed with the payouts for shooting the ships. Going for all that hard work to defeat a boss & not getting a decent reward for it sort of annoyed me.

I think the idea of arcade games is a good one, but IMHO would be better if it gave you a random award for completing a level, & you had yo put money in to continue like in arcades. I guess some people would get good at it eventually and the casino would lose money, how to factor the house edge in these sort of games is difficult. Maybe I should design a fun casino arcade game with a house edge & send my idea to MG, if I could crack this I might end up getting a cool job. Who knows stranger things have happened...

Sounds like the site you joined is called World Winner, i had the same issue there and am an experienced gamer. Yeah i was thinking the Snooker game could play like that  would be a bit like Black Jack against the dealer which is a good example of a casino game that includes skill. Certainly more skill than Max Damage ;)

I was thinking the Super Mario game would play like Max Damage, you loose you're bet for every enemy you kill and in return win a mystery amount. Defeating Bowser (the boss) over the levels could also pay like Max Damage. I want a Super Mario slot, which will probably never get released :(

Well that's the end of that idea, i was thinking of using that game to grind down left over bonus money the next time I play lol! I can see why it would be low contribution but 0%?! Do they want people not to play the game? Not like it pays anything

all these years I never played this game. Tried it tonight with a free chip I got. Back and forth for quite awhile. 527 spins. No feature.

Sounds like my first run at this at roxy palace 5 deposits never hit the feature, had good runs on it since though hitting features pretty regulary but freespins can really sux dont get who's idea it was to remove stacked wilds in freespins and added those spaceships instead.

A few months ago, I played £800 on Max damage on a certain casino.

I was playing 90p spins, highest win was 25x

No feature the whole time, endless 2 scatters.

I have not played since, it has been added to my list of useless slots. Luckily it was bonus cash.

Max Damage and the Alien Attack doesn't have "spins" - it's like a video "shoot 'em up" game.
Are you getting it confused with Max Damage (the slot)?
