Man buys $27 of bitcoin, forgets about them, finds they're now worth $886k

Makes me want to kick myself up the ass for not taking the risk when Bitcoin was first discussed here by Jstrike and the creation of his Bitcoin casino. Mining was much easier back then.

Me, I'd buy $27 of bitcoins, years later they'd be worth $880k+ --- and then the US gov would confiscate them....

Forget mining, when I learned about them in the early days they were a few cents each. I remember going to a Paypal page to buy some but then decided against it. A simple $50 buy would have made me a millionaire in 3 years (assuming of course that I'd have kept them).

I was discussing this with a friend yesterday and I don't think that we'll see an easiest way to become a millionaire in our lifetime (outside of winning the lottery).

Some guy on Reddit started a thread 8 months ago showing that he loaded all his credit cards and bought $30k worth of bitcoin. People were calling him crazy. Two (2) months later, it was worth $300k. He kept his thread updated for a while, he sold $30k worth of it to pay his credit card bills and then quit his job to manage his free $270k. That's quite something.
