Hi,

I was one of the people who received the original email from Major Tom casino offering me 50 free credits to try out the casino. I know some players received the bonus and then had a lot of hassle as the casino wasn't live and the email should never have been sent (I received it on 8/11 and still have it). Unfortunately, when I clicked the link it took me to an error page so I couldn't register, or claim the bonus :(

Anyway, today I received another email saying that the casino is now live and inviting me to sign up. Great, I thought, I'll get my bonus. However after registering, I contacted Live Chat saying and they said I can't get the bonus "as the casino is now live"

I think this is a pretty poor show and quite unfair to be honest. Do they have a rep here on the forum?

It's a PR disaster.

Why piss off potential new players once when you can do it twice:confused:

They had supposedly addressed the initial cock-up, and players were told that they would have to wait for their free 50 until the official launch. Now it seems they have failed to implement this.

I am rather surprised that a newly launched casino has NOTHING to offer new players. Even if not a bonus, they need some kind of lure otherwise the competition will grab all the pre Christmas money.

Here you go. I think you might find this a good read...

Now was that the NDB you weren't able to claim or the welcome bonus or both? :eek2:

There was apparently an "error" with the NDB and they accidentally sent the NDB out to everyone. So they won't be honoring the NDB but they should be honoring the welcome bonus. Either way I wouldn't bother with them IMO their CS is terrible.

Hi,

It was the NDB I wasn't able to claim but IMHO, in the interests of PR I think they should be honouring both. Anyway, I've PM'd the Rep so I'll keep you posted.

They now have up to a 150% deposit bonus instead, plus a few other interesting ideas (which have actually been done before by their competitors BTW:p).

Terms are standard fare, and at least a standard 30x WR instead of the 50x that has been appearing elsewhere. Max bet 25% of the bonus credited.

Very "doable" VIP entry criteria, especially for someone with a big enough bankroll to sail through all 21 stages in the 7 days given, but virtually impossible for most players with more modest means. What you actually get is less clear, lots of "top secret" and "beret" bonus deals.

Much better that the regular 15% up to 100 twice a week on offer at the sister casinos.

In the run up to Christmas, maybe a wager challenge tournament is on the cards, and Major Tom might be a better venue for this given the total of 2100 in bonus chips offered in the first 7 days after joining.

I will consider a test run after GNUF have paid my recent withdrawal (see winner screenshots):D I should be VIP there before Christmas:p

Technical

PC specs and features required to play at Major Tom Casino.

First things first, if you play on your Mac (iOS) you will not be able to play on the “download” version of Major Tom Casino. Do not despair, however, you can still enjoy all the greatest games on Major Tom Casino’s Instant Play platform. Click here to play instantly now.

If you are a PC player your computer will need to tick the following specifications boxes:
•Your operating system cannot be older than Windows 98 – even then it really is time for an upgrade, don’t you agree?
•Macromedia Flash 7 or any subsequent version. If you do not have flash installed you need not worry, the latest version will automatically be installed on your PC when you install Major Tom Casino.
•DirectX 1, (again do not concern yourself about this, the software will automatically be installed when you install Major Tom Casino)
•Please ensure you have 500Mb of free hard drive space available

:lolup::lolup::lolup:
•A standard keyboard and mouse
•Internet access with minimum connection speed of 56KBps – however the faster your connection the greater your gaming experience will be.

:lolup::confused: WTF!

Additional requirements to ensure seamless gaming at Major Tom Casino.
•Your PC processor also needs to be 2GHz
•Please ensure system RAM of 256Mb is available

•Please ensure 64Mb video memory is available
•A 32 Bit colour video card and 800 X 600 video resolution is recommended

Not if you want to see the casino in full on a single monitor.

•Please ensure that you have at least 1GB of hard drive space available

:what: Wrong again - have a third guess

Try 20GB, more if you want room for anything else, such as an OS:D

Less customers means less money we have to pay affiliates...:D Or how did they think? ;)
This casino is not available for affiliates to promote yet - so there's one saving they should be able to pass on to their customers! :p

I know! I insinuated the thing about affiliates on purpose. That is the thing, they have started a new casino and really thought that they would bring new players without tag them to affiliates. Or am I wrong? Correct me if I am, but if you have a player at La Vida, and CM has same player at Red Flush...and this player register now at Major Tom? Is that now an untagged player?

EDIT:

I found this at AGD:

P.S. Any players that signed up before blocking the page will be tagged if they belong to an affiliate.

They will tag the player to some affiliate, but if the player is tagged to two affiliates?

in the words of bowie

my mother said to get things done you better not mess with with major tom ........................got the ndb email got nothing :( they wasted peoples time i hope they can fix this......

Wow, that's amazing Commander.

VIP by Christmas eh? Well let's all go to the toilet in celebration.

 :D

Wish mine was as big as yours...and as fast....and expensive too....

Nifty! Do we have to put you back on the leash?

Hi,

I agree they should be honouring the NDB. However they wont so good luck asking them. I tried and received some of the worst customer support I've ever experienced. I dont trust Major Tom.

I also think what they did by putting affiliates on the back burner is disgusting. Affiliates are there to market the product to take that away from them based on saving some dollars is like putting someone out of a job. Companies need affiliates, Major Tom will fall back on it's affiliates after this however if I was an affiliate I wouldnt be there to catch them. I couldnt trust them so I certainly wouldnt work for them.

But thats just me I get a little bit passionate about this sort of stuff, kind of like when alot of the big brands in Australia converted to off shore customer support leaving many people without jobs. I stopped buying those brands for exactly that reason.

Anyway getting back to my main point before my little outburst: I agree with you :)

I did not receive the NDB offer, or if I did, I ignored it, as I tend to with unknown casinos.

But I did receive spam from them today, don't know if it's from an affiliate or not. I'm assuming not if they don't have affiliates on board yet.

Well, someone has some explaining to do!

Maybe they have some "beta affiliates" as well as a "beta pre launch cock up", and they are trawling for all the players they can get before the affiliate program is officially opened to regular affiliates.

As for being able to imagine Nifty on a leash, well worth a visit to the toilet just for the amusement, not to mention Amusement With Prizes:p:p

What I am trying to illustrate though is the very simple and highly "doable" nature of the Major Tom VIP programme.

After the first deposit, you have to make 21 further deposits in 7 days. The first 7 get 30% up to 100, the next 7 40% up to 100, and the final 7 I think was 50% up to 100. This is it, do this, and you are automatically a VIP, no assessment of whether you are a deserving candidate, account review my management, etc.

Usually, such "doable" VIP programs tend to be crap once you get there, VIP in name only, little in the way of additional benefits.

For all I know, the "Secret Agent" and "beret" boni could be nothing more than the twice weekly 15% up to 100 that is on offer at Red Flush and La Vida. These two also have fancy branding, but this doesn't make them anything other than 15% up to 100 with a 30x WR.

You should not be able to just buy your way into a VIP program, else it loses it's allure.

For Major Tom 21 x minimum deposit should do it, which can be as little as $210 with the right deposit method. You should get it all back and more with the VIP Christmas gift that any decent VIP program offers it's distinguished members (unless of course it really is a crap VIP programme, and the gift is some cheap tat that one could get from any of the "pound shops" here in the UK).

Scowlface? Three days ago "gonkface" was the new word I learned. Now Nifty as Scowlface? In a leash! :D

Sorry, my bad, taking liberties. You know how you can use "" to get  , for example?

I used  to indicate that I would have used something like scowling.gif if we had it, which we don't.

Clear as mud I'm sure, apologies.

OMG! It's the ultimate geek who knows the obscure smiley codes! :pointandsnigger:

I got a text message off Ladbrokes saying 'there is a free £5 bet in your account to bet on the champions league tonight' i looked and nothing was in.

The day after i got an email saying they messed up and that they had put one in to apologize thats how you do it

Hey you never know when you'll be caught in an emergency situation and have to submit your posts by Morse code or whatever. Smiley chart won't do you much good then, will it? :p

Update

Ok, so I sent the Rep a Pm who promptly replied telling me that I can't get the 50 NDB but I'm more than welcome to take up any of their other attractive sign-up offers  The saying "kick in the teeth" springs to mind, so I'll not be depositing, ever :D

Received a large and colourful brochure in the mail today. There was a $10 bonus, but only after you had made one (or more) deposit(s), some free spins for the 300 first earning players and a Christmas calendar, did not read the whole thing through - all talk no trousers IMO.

How about inviting the rep to come here and explain this to the rest of us:confused:

This is PR madness, they DID honour the deal in some cases, and I am pretty sure we were meant to interpret the statement back then that once the casino DID become live, the deal would be honoured for all those who received it.

For the sake of not sticking to their promised high standards of "eating" the consequences of their own screwup as well as offering an apology, they are risking the resurrection of the blot on their reputation caused by the error, even though from their figures it only involved around 400-500 potential players.

Apart from this, matters have become even murkier due to the "affiliate spam" for a casino that does not even HAVE an affiliate program at present, which begs the question of how the hell this spammer thinks he is going to benefit from anyone who clicks his spammy link to sign up.

The problem for players is deciding whether this is a one off, if serious, screwup, or a sign of systemic incompetence throughout the operation, which could manifest itself through poor CS and problems resolving even relatively simple issues such as first withdrawal document sending and verification, claims processes for loyalty boni, etc.

A new casino needs to hit the ground running, not repeatedly tripping over it's own shoe laces, else it will not stand out in the crowd, or worse, stand out for all the wrong reasons.
