LVbet Just Awful

Wow casinos now running credit checks on people I find this so disturbing having somebody rifle through your credit report!!! Extremley intrusive

I guess you should really complain to the UKGC who must've allowed this for SOW?

I don't really know how the UK law works but over here in Belgium you have to give casino's or bookies permission to do some sort of credit check, but only if you want to deposit more than €500 a week (per site).

Hi everyone,

First of all, apologies for not answering earlier, as I told @ritae in in a Private Message, I tend to not take my work laptop with me home on the weekends in an attempt to balance out some work / life balance. Her withdrawal was indeed paid out.

Secondly, I understand the hate, perhaps a bit of a strong word, dislike of the actions that had to be taken in this regards. Unfortunately, like I have previously stated in multiple threads, certain decisions like this are forced onto us or rather are the best option to go for us due to the regulations related to Affordability under the UKGC legislation.

Third and mainly related to the second point, there's not that many options that casinos can use in order to evaluate this affordability part. 1) We can either run credit checks as certain casinos do on every UK Registration, which will be visible on your credit score + it's quite expensive to do. 2) We can rely on the documents and explanations provided by our users.

Either one of those isn't exactly the best option to provide a great experience to our UK Customer base.

You might like to look at the way you do these things, to try to not alienate your customer base.
Saying you have concerns that someone used 60% of a card limit from an affordability view, is going to annoy people. From what has been stated you haven't requested other documents to see the full picture.
As an example, I had a credit card with a £15k limit on a few years ago. I had 0% for 12 months on it, I bought a car, and used it for bills and a few other large purchases. I had the cash to buy them, and did it so I got a small amount of interest on my money and that was better for me. At one point I think I had used about 95% of my available credit. There were no affordability questions as I could have paid it off in full at any point.

I had another that only had a £500 limit but I got points for using it, so I used to use it day to day for shopping/petrol etc. That was usually close to 100% at the end of month, when it was paid off in full.

If I had used one of those as an address proof and you queried my affordability based on that alone, my account would be closed instantly.

If you have concerns, then further documents should be requested before you make statements like that, so you have a better picture of the overall situation.

Are you even supposed to do affordability checks using documents supplied for KYC purposes, I don't see anything in your terms that say you will do this?

TBH Tyler , the asking of questions such as this one re CC, doesn't strike me as any concerted attempt to understand affordability (risk/profile/using Office National Statistics data re Income etc etc): just strikes me as someone being a bit nosey when the statement was sent in for KYC and going 'eh, look at that spend there? Why you shopping in Waitrose?'

And the person supplied it for KYC? - you've not even collated enough data on them to even make a judgement. Not even a bog standard questionnaire of 'tell us your income' which, without that, makes such questions a bit daft

Be diplomatic and say it's very poor.

Oh don't get me wrong, I admit here that the decision taken could have been handled better until more information is gleaned regarding the situation at hand. In fact the account from what I can gather only had Deposits and Gameplay blocked till further information could be received from the player.

And I agree with Colinsunderland saying that we have to improve on our SoW / SoF checks before we can call it a day and say we have it in the bag. We're working on it and over time, and with many a mistake, I'm sure we can bring it down to a Tee.

"Are you even supposed to do affordability checks using documents supplied for KYC purposes, I don't see anything in your terms that say you will do this?" - We're not running specific Aff Checks, however we do KYC the documents and pass any possible "concerning" documents to our RG Team.

An example would be a bank statement filled with Payday loans, large Overdraft or a Utility Company warning you that you haven't paid your bill in months.

This is a catch 22 situation however, if you don't examine the documents, the customer can come back in a few months and threaten to send you to the UKGC for not realising that the person might not be in control of his / her actions. If you do, you get accused of delving too much into detail. Either way, the company can come out bad.

Kind Regards,
Tyler

I use a bank account for casinos that has no other transactions on, or any payments in or out to family, companies even friends lol

What the OP and others have been asked about their spending and credit cards etc is outrageous, and in my world the casinos would be blacklisted.

Same here. Still wouldn't send them a copy of it though. There's just something very wrong in having to send a casino proof you can afford to give them your money

Yes I’m aware they do an age check but wasn’t aware they root through your credit score sorry I think it’s appalling I wasn’t aware this was done I thought they just age checked

Obviously without seeing the document I'm working on assumptions, but in this case there wasn't any of those just a credit card statement showing it is being used normally, within it's limits, and not really close to the limits either. The card company is best placed to see if there are concerns, and they would reduce the limit or block the card if they had any. If that hasn't happened then I don't see why it should be a concern.

I also get you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, but over zealousness on this type of thing isn't going to keep customers coming back.

Had sloty casino responsible gambling contact me 2 days ago. saying he was worried but in reality he was there to spy. I had a few big wins on their group and they were worried about me being able to win.. they.. don't want people that win big. I said i had won huge and i was swinging my profits as i wish, i have no debts and i can do whatever i want with slots profits, what from from slots must return to slots is my moto. The guy had the info he wanted, i can win big.. i am in profits... next thing i know all the genesis casinos have me on self-exclusion as the guy "spy" said i requested self-exclusion? Well in the end it just confirmed my doubts, they just don't want anyone to win. Amazing how their only reason to exist, like all casinos, is to take deposits.. and pay wins. If we can't win, we don't deposit.. we don't pay.. what casinos are not understanding? If we were to never win we would play app slots for few bucks.. we would never spend thousands for their pixels.

I ended up telling him its them that need help.. its not the gambler phallacy no more, its the casinos phallacy.. casinos that think they can just take deposits and never pay any wins... They live in a bubble and it's seriously worrying. To them... if you deposit 200$ a shot everyday and lose straight because you try to win big.. and lose every deposit.. it's totally normal... if after a while and many many deposits you end up getting a jackpot.. IT'S NOT NORMAL!!! Hmm i think they really need help there... a serious help.

In Ireland if you are signed up to casions, bookies, say goodbye of getting a mortgage ,the new thing also is a selfie so they check your passport pic.ukga is ruining it for streamers and punters alike, the day will come when you will have to carry sow docs to the bookies lol

Lvbet is to my knowledge the only casino that is fair enough to receive insults after sow request, pay the player and then close the account. Try to do that anywhere else.
I am sorry for these guys. As a canadian the only thing that wasnt perfect there was the lag on certain games. It all started when blueprint, gamomat and merkur were taken off their site for us. Then lowered rtp on png. Then lowered netent and microgaming. Guess what happened? I never play there anymore. What sm I suppose to do? Play fruit shop at 94% when its already hard to win anything on the 98% version at unibet? And then... what? Gonzo megaways at 92%? Its also at 98% at unibet. This is not a kindred add. I would rather play at lvbet but the product offered there for me now is like dropping money on the ground and walking away. Greed and short term profit is what is happening at lvbet. You had a name that IMO meant something. Quality, honest people and not part of the bunch of shady bunch with hidden rtp or rogue bonus terms. You are still honest obviously. You will always be.

@LV BET
I feel bad for you. Really. We had nice conversations when I use to play at lvbet. It doesnt take long to realize that you are someone that can use his brain and doesnt forget what a human is even when there is money involved. I am a low level manager in a huge company. More and more I have to give answers like this to clients, to my agents... even to my family. Yeah sorry... I am not the one making these decisions. I endorse those decisions though. They suck. Yep. Respect :)

Hello Hhhelllo :)

First of all, thanks for your words. We do understand that RTP Changes are not the best news to ever hear out of a casino. And I do reiterate that when possible, we will always strive to keep the highest RTPs possible available. While, we can no longer brag on the highest RTPs on the market, I will brag quite not modestly that we still believe that apart from the gaming side of the things, honesty is one of the biggest benefits of operators such as ourselves.

You hear many stories both on this forum and elsewhere of people having won large amounts of cash while playing slots only to be thwarted by a casino doing whatever it can to not pay out the player. We will not stand to this, yes, we might have lower RTPs but we will never shy away from giving a player what is rightfully his or hers. If they've earned it fair and square, they will have it sent to them the moment all the checkboxes are filled.

And by checkboxes, I mean, let's sort out your verification and make sure you're running closed loop. At the end of the day, we do also need to do our part of the regulatory process, which yes, might be a pain, might sometimes require more information than what one would consider normal, but trust me, I'm not a fan of checking out people's selfies while holding documents, or asking for extra information. I cringe at the thought of taking passport photos for an official document, let alone for a for profit company.

While I may not always be aware of the ulterior reason behind certain decisions taken, I know that these decisions are taken to ensure a long term commitment to the casino industry and to being able to improve our product going forward. Regarding the SoW, SoF, Affordability debacles, we're working on finding new improvements, new investments and innovations that can try to remove the friction that it causes between us and you, but these things take time. I don't want to use it as an excuse, but we're not one of the "big boy" operators with unlimited resources, it takes time to decide what to prioritise and what is best for the future.

As I've explained in the interview with CasinoMeister earlier this year, I'm not a high level manager, I'm just a cog in the wheel helping to smoothen things out where needed and helping out here, which I will say, is "fun" for me. I love the interaction, and I love trying to resolve issues for you all when needed, and trying to sneak a few promo codes for all you from our Promo team (but shh, that's between you all and me ;) ).

Guys and girls, I would like to end on this note, we are not perfect. I will admit to that, but we are always looking to improve. Players of our casino or not, if you have any constructive criticism or even feedback from your experience using our website or even just having browsed through it . Do drop me a message, I'd love to listen to them and see where things might be improved. This is not a one way channel, let's use it to help each other. I speak on behalf of the entire team at LV BET when I say that the best ideas come / are derived out of suggestions given by the players.

Your feedback decides whether a feature is a yay or nay. Whether something needs to be rewritten to be understood properly, or easier to find on our website.

I'll end my little speech here as I think a post this long at half 7 in the morning is long enough and a lot of the people including myself might still be sipping their first cup of coffee for the day.

Stay Safe!

Kind Regards,
Tyler
