Loose VS. Lose

Weird and wierd.....it's because the English language says "i" before "e" except after "c"...but it's wrong in this word.

Yes, I am weird. :D

Eye or I was banking, lol, Hugh or hew or yew or you would knot or not fourget or 4get or forget the Depends. Jus' or just depends!!

Sorry, I don't do potty training.

There is a sentence I learned back in the fifth grade to help you remember the exceptions to the i before e rule....and for some odd reason I never forgot it:

The leisured foreigners neither seized either speices nor forfeited their weird heights.

So if a casino ad says, "We have loose slots", do they really mean Lose? :what:

And please learn to spell "Probably", not prolly!

What's a 'speices'?

I award Chayton first place for her spelling correction post. It is the most complete!

It is terrible to be so anal when reading posts, but what can I say? I am an anal personality. :p

It is good to bring all these misspelled words up on occasion. It keeps folks like me from making so many snarky posts. :D

The one that grates my gears is:

"I could care less"

The expression is actually:

"I couldn't care less"

The first phrase conveys that you actually care about the matter to some degree, hence you could care less than you do at present.

The second phrase conveys that you do not care at all about the matter, hence you couldn't care less than you do at present.

Unfortunately it is one of those phrases that has been altered at some point by someone who doesn't know their ass from their elbow and it has been passed down the line. I believe it all started back in the late 50's in the USA (sorry my American friends...it's all your fault lol).

When you think about it, using the first phrase makes absolutely no sense unless you are actually saying you care about something (which is the opposite of that they apparently mean)

Anyway, I could care less about it......... :D

Busted!! :D

What happens when you type too fast?

u git xctly wht evryun is talkin' bout.

Okay, Max is blushing on page 2 and then on page 3 he's poopin in the pool???

Maybe a speices is really spices but then that doesn't really make sense...

Um, no. Someone else did the business, I just pointed out that it was inappropriate.

A case in point.....my client (the same one that I mentioned before) just sent me something to proof for him - his email said, "Cindy, can you check my spelling and grammer" ;)

And on his one doc it was supposed to be "course content production and promotion..." and he said "coarse content production..." lol. Which I find hysterically funny, I'm not sure why. :D
